A traditional kiva fireplace and vigas let you know you have arrived in the City Different and are truly staying like a local in what many consider Santa Fe's best family neighborhood. One of our town's oldest neighborhoods, the quiet tree lined streets make for a lovely 10 minute walk to the town's historic center, the Plaza or an equally short stroll to the arts district, Canyon Road. The furnishings in this home are tasteful and reflective of the Southwest. The full kitchen with dish washer and separate dining room as well as a spacious living room make this home comfortable for those on a budget who want to sleep as many as four people.You are also in the same compound as our one bedroom home ' Hidden Treasure' which makes a great way for two families or couples to travel together and get all the privacy and together time they want. The full b ath is off of the bedroom. Pets are welcome with the owner's permission.Your private back yard has a table and chairs with barbecue and will provide peace after a long day of site seeing. Air conditioned, Cable TV, off street parking,WiFI.

In late May, Susan and I spent a delightful five days and nights at the Cabello casita in Santa Fe. Overall, the experience there was outstanding. Our casita, really a duplex, was very clean and well-appointed. The layout of the casita, plus the small rear patio, was far above a standard hotel room. We were pleased to find a full kitchen with everything we needed for breakfast and light meals -- or a full meal if we were so inclined. The location -- right in a real neighborhood -- gave us a sense of really getting to be part of the fabric and culture of Santa Fe. We welcomed the fact that the Plaza and nearby shops and restaurants were a short, pleasant walk. You stayed like a local and apreciated all the benifits of that it sounds like.I love the Caballo house as well. it is so authenic. An old adobe with alot of history. About the owner: Having been raised in Chicago, Il.I knew did not want to spend my life in the City. When traveling out west back in 1975 I came through Santa Fe and fell in love with Northern New Mexico incredible sky's and landscape. I found the people here especially back in '75 to be the most authentic people I had ever met and I decided to make Santa Fe my home. My extensive knowledge from living here for 34 years makes me the perfect local hostess to give you local tips on making your stay most memorable.
