Located in beautiful Saugatuck, Michigan, with it's sandy dunes and nature's beauty. We are part of Saugatuck's ONLY FAMILY RESORT WITH A POOL AND PRIVATE BEACH! Our beach on Goshorn Lake is just a short 750 ft. stroll. Our outdoor heated pool is even closer than that!
Located less than 2 miles from downtown, you can do what your heart desires. From walking, biking on the new bike path, swimming in the pool or private beach, browsing the shops of Saugatuck or Douglas, golfing, trying a new restaurant, taking time out on a short cruise on the Star of Saugatuck, seeking the thrill of a Dune Ride, sitting at a bon-fire, hiking up Mt. Baldhead, taking in a beautiful sunset on the sandy shores of Oval Beach, tapping into the athlete in you, enjoying a cozy fire in the gas log fireplace to just reading and relaxing. The possibilities are endless!
Much updating has recently been done. We have added a 400 sf family room with a big screen TV. The BEST thing about this room is not only that all 13 of you can be out there comfortably at one time, but that you can put the kids to bed and retreat to this front room without them hearing you.
You will find MANY extras at this cottage. Relax in Garry's 6-person outdoor hot-tub just feet from the back door, ride one of the many bikes in Garry's shed, sit at your own bonfire in the backyard or at the community fire pit on the beach, participate in an outdoor game, or just hang out on the picnic table while waiting for the charcoal in the barbecue grill. If it is raining, search the high speed internet right there in Garry's Cottage, watch TV (Dishnet) or a family DVD, play a board game, read a book, all of which are provided for you.

Debbie, thank you for the beautiful experince. Your home is loaded with amenities. Has everything you need no need to bring amything but yourself and clothesand food to make. This is a very spavious and wonderful cottage. The location is ideal its close to everything!!! Thank you would definitely stay here again and again!!!!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Dear Debbie, Thanks for a great weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were five moms who needed an escape from our twelve kids, five husbands and hectic lives. We had many laughs and created lots of memories that we'll take with us to get through those tough days. This was the perfect place to get away from it all. Close to town with quaint shops and good food. We are planning on making this a yearly trip. We had a wonderful weekend women's retreat with a group of us! The cottage was great! A wonderful large family room was perfect for playing games, reading books, and watching movies! We loved the hot tub! Close to the highway and close to town! Everything was perfect and we might start making this a regular yearly tradition! The cottage was clean, well maintained, and the owner answered all my questions right away! I would recommend this to all of my family and friends! We enjoyed this cottage for a family reunion very much. The location was perfect with lots of things to do nearby in Saugatuck and on the little lake close by. Everything inside was clean and well kept. Our large family enjoyed the addition since we could all be together in one place comfortably. The hot tub was wonderful and we had campfires every night. Great value!Recommended for: Families with young children.

This was a great place to stay--roomy, in walking distance from a small lake, just two minutes by car from downtown Saugatuck. This time of year it's very quiet, with very few people in the nearby properties, but we found that a plus for a relaxing vacation. It allowed us to go see family and friends for Thanksgiving but have a place we could retreat to. We enjoyed the fireplace and the large family room, enjoyed as well the hot tub.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Had a great time relaxing in Garry's cottage. It was very spatious and clean. We all agreed that a couple families could easily stay in the house together and have plenty of room. Loved the fireplace and really loved the hot tub. The cottage had plenty of room for 10 adults and 1 baby. The addition of the family room was a wonderful spot where we could all be together. Debbie was wonderful answering all of my questions in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this property and would return for a stay if I was every in the area again. We were in town for a family wedding so the only downfall was that we did not have a lot of time to explore the lake or Saugatuck, we didn't even use the hot tub because it rained most of the weekend. But it was a wonderful stay nonetheless.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, families with young children.

Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: We purchased Garry's Cottage in the Spring of 2007. We fell in love with the beauty of the sandy dunes, the big shady trees, the private beach on Goshorn Lake and the quiet, out of the way setting that Goshorn Lake Resort provides. We love that we are 'off the beaten path' but close to everything. Choosing Saugatuck for it's school system, we moved here in September 2007, living in the cottage during the school year and renting it out from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Since we are crop farmers in the Thumb of Michigan and move back there for the summer, this was a perfect fit for for our family. We recently added 2 more children to our family of 6 through domestic adoption, so we felt it necessary to find a home in Saugatuck where we and 'our stuff' could stay put year round. We are happy to now offer Garry's Cottage Year Round so that you, too, can enjoy the beauty of the four seasons. We looking forward to having you make memories at Goshorn Lake in Garry's Cottage. Saugatuck is close enough to everything, and yet off the beaten path enough for you to find peace and relaxation that will help you forget the stress of everyday life. Saugatuck has so much to offer, from it's sandy beaches of Lake Michigan to it's quaint shops downtown. From it's art Galleries to it's fine and family dining. There is always something GREAT happening in Saugatuck and Douglas, Michigan. There is the Waterfront film festival in June, the Venetian Weekend Fireworks in July, the Taste of Saugatuck in August, the Mt Baldhead Challenge in September, the Fall Fun Fest and Halloween Parade and Festival in October, Tree Lighting Ceremony in November along with Horse-drawn carriage rides and Sensational Saturdays through December, Kicking off the New Year with New Year's Eve Fireworks.

Because Garry's Cottage is a part of the Goshorn Lake Resort, you have access to the private beach on Goshorn Lake (the kayaks, the canoes, the rowboats, fishing dock), the outdoor heated pool, shuffle board, beach volleyball, swing set and the list goes on.
