Hooded Merganser Court -- Modern house with Charleston style--three bedroom suites are completely separate! Guest wing has hallway doors to give you privacy from the main living areas--sleep late if you wish! There is an office area on the mezzanine, complete with wireless internet, for those who blend vacation with work.
Master suite with fireplace is on opposite side of house and has own deck access.
Living area is bright and VERY comfortable and expands onto the screened porch.
Seating for 8 persons in dining room, at kitchen bar (5-6), and 6 on the porch makes this house a FABULOUS place for a family vacation.
Our house is on the lagoon, and surrounded by natural areas, so that you feel the charm of the low-country embracing you. We are on a cul-de-sac, and the kids can ride bikes on our long, private driveway. Get out the chalk and let their imaginations will go wild--play hopscotch and have a side-walk-artist-contest without leaving the comfort of your vacation home!
The guest wing can sleep 6 and has 2.5 baths. This is a great house for a family.
The Master wing is very private and spacious and has its own bath and deck.
Our kitchen is well stocked and comfortable, and spices, wraps, paper goods, etc. are supplied. It features a MayTag gas stove, so bring your specialty recipes and enjoy one another. Or, have your family-dinner catered by one of the fabulous specialists in the area.

I wanted to write this review the day we got back (master of procrastination). This house was exactly what we were looking for. Located on a beautiful, quiet street....nicely secluded, yet surrounded by friendly residents and fellow renters. Close enough to easily walk to the beach, yet far enough removed for ample privacy. The owners are excellent to work with, and made the reservation process as quick and easy as any I've ever done. They were even immediately available to help with a minor glitch with the front gate, and the matter was solved right away. My entire family commented that we felt more like house guests than renters. I will definitely be saving this listing and will return any time we visit Kiawah...which can't be soon enough!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Wade & Elisabeth are fantastic to work with and are professional. The home is in a perfect location on a quiet street yet close to the beach. The house has everything you can ask for and is well stocked for all your needs. I have been vacationing in Kiawah for over 20 years and rate this as one of my best experiences. We will return....Thanks for everyting.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers.

This was such a comfortable home. The photos don't do it justice. The porch was a favorite sitting place to enjoy the outdoors without bugs! The kitchen was our gathering place for visiting and the outdoor grill made dinners a snap! The guest wing would be perfect for several couples to come and share the house. The beach is much closer than I thought and an EASY bike ride to the ocean. Including bikes in the rental was fabulous as many days we just went riding exploring all the bike paths and the island. Thanks for sharing this home with us.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This home is so welcoming and in such a great location! Plus, all the amenities made it feel like "home away from home". Everything was immaculate. The bikes were a plus -- great to grab and go for a trail ride or to ride on the beach. Thanks so much for sharing your Kiawah beach house with us for Thanksgiving! The layout was perfect for us. The college and high school kids enjoyed the quiet in the wing over the garage. With three doors between them and the rest of the house, they really got caught up on their sleeping late! Our dog, "Buddy" really appreciated being allowed to come along. We had a delightful time (for the Kiawah marathon, even though the weather was cold) The house worked out very well and the layout is perfect for guests to have their own space as well as enjoy common areas. About the owner: Friends took us to lunch at the Ocean Club, and I said: 'Give me a kayak and a bike and pick me up in 5 years.' That is how we fell in love with Kiawah, and we want to share our lovely home with you. Coming from Aruba, Hilton Head and Fripp, we found Kiawah has the ambiance and the beauty we thought was no longer available. Come bike and walk on the beach with us, kayak with me, watch the deer graze in our yard.....alligators cruise the shore of the lagoon, the water-fowl make their graceful landings, golf on the most gorgeous courses, and fall in love with Kiawah with us! We hear the surf and can see the tidal changes in the lagoon--we don't need a tidal clock! The golf course surrounds our property, yet does not intrude, and the wild-life you see when just sitting on the porch is such a gift. Do you know what a Oster-Toadfish is? Neither did I until I saw this unusual creature in the lagoon. And, the Kiawah Nature Center identified it for us!
