What makes this condo one of the best on the island? BOTH the sunrise and sunset views, of course... ON SITE property management, maintenance and housekeeping... complete kitchen... fully furnished... WiFi, unlimited long distance and condo to condo calling capabilities... all island amenities within either walking distance or via the free island shuttle that picks you up and drops you off right in our building's parking lot.
This particular beachfront condo is ideal for family vacations or for 2 couples vacationing together. Or, if you just want to go it alone, our condo makes for a perfect romantic getaway, too.
Our favorite feature is the view! You will enjoy unobstructed views of the sand, surf, sun and palm trees, through the large picture windows in the master bedroom and living room… or even better, from the spacious, covered lanai just off of the living room. And because of the benefit of being on the fourth floor, bay views are inviting later in the afternoon, too! Bring the patio furniture forward, just outside the front door, and enjoy the sunset without traveling anywhere.
This spacious condominium, Unit 408, has two bedrooms, each with separate bathrooms and closets. The master has a king-sized bed, whereas the second bedroom has a double/queen-sized bed. Each bedroom has room for a roll-away twin sized bed that can be brought in by our building’s on-site management service (must reserve as soon as you can).
Each bedroom is equipped with TV and cable. There is also a flat screen TV in the living room as well as a DVD player and a stereo system with a CD player & iPod hookup. WiFi is also available throughout the building for your internet needs.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook and entertain. Amenities include pots and pans, cooking utensils, plates, glasses, mugs, silverware, coffee maker, microwave, blender, crock pot, toaster, toaster oven, wine opener and more. A dishwasher is also available for easy clean up, or a drying rack is provided if you choose to hand wash any items.
You can enjoy your meals, morning coffee or evening cocktails either at the dining room table, at the raised bar across from the kitchen sink (3 bar stools) or even on the covered patio out front or the covered lanai out back. Portable furniture is available on the lanai and can be moved around the condo unit however you may desire for your beach or bay viewing preferences.
The building, Suntide II, is a peaceful and beautifully maintained gated community located right on the beach. It features an ocean front hot tub, swimming pool, sun deck and barbeque area with grills available on a first come, first served basis. A volleyball net is located on the beach directly in front of the complex as well. Should you wish to rent beach umbrellas and chairs, please check with the on-site management office for complete information. A regulation tennis court is accessible from the second floor, as rackets and tennis balls can be loaned out from the on-site office, too. Coin operated washers and dryers are available for guests on each floor.
Suntide II's excellent staff is located on the premises allowing for daily linen exchange and quick response to any maintenance request. In addition, there is on-site check-in and check-out during normal business hours and during extended hours on weekends and holidays.
We vacation in this condo as often as we are able and we hope you will find it as relaxing and as fun as we do! Servicing the Rio Grande Valley, this is the farthest airport from South Padre Island, but it may provide some of the best priced flights to the area, too! Major airlines flying in and out of McAllen include American Airlines and Delta Airlines. About: Fast cars, cigars, Cabernet Sauvignon or Anejo Tequila, Texas Longhorns, Indiana Hoosiers, Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos and the LA Galaxy all pretty much sum up who we are… basically, we are a married couple from Indianapolis, Indiana and Dallas, Texas, and we are currently living in Los Angeles. We work in the sports business and are fortunate to travel quite a bit with our jobs, but we make sure to squeeze in a few trips to South Padre Island each year as well! We love to be active, but we appreciate our R&R just as much, and SPI is perfect to accomplish that goal!
Why Suntide II:
We visited South Padre Island at the end of an ‘Austin road trip to the tip’ Texas vacation and, to be honest, it was love at first sight. We’ve enjoyed our family’s beach condos in Florida and on the East Coast, but what we loved about South Padre Island was it’s laid back atmosphere… all you need are flip flops and either shorts or a sundress. If you want to dress up for dinner… great! But it’s never required on SPI. This island is truly a getaway from all worries, where you can be yourself however you wish to be yourself… no restrictions at all!

We are just steps from the pool, the sand and the Gulf. Even better, we are a close walk to 'Wanna Wanna' for a beach lunch and a cocktail, too (their ceviche is incredible!). When you enjoy your morning coffee with a copy of ‘The Island Breeze’ on the lanai, overlooking the ocean… or when you sip a margarita outside the front door with friends at sunset… or when you relax in the ocean side hot tub after a busy day of play, you’ll see for yourself why we love it here at Suntide II!
