  Great house for family groups. The arrangement of the bedrooms downstairs and living area upstairs makes it really convenient for both fun and sleeping. It's a very good value for the price. Also, the owner, Nigel, was very helpful and available. The kitchen is large enough for multiple cooks so it was great for preparing the Thanksgiving meal. And the living room is very cozy and inviting with comfortable leather sofas and chairs in front of the fireplace.Loved the "conference table"with power strip, in the back of the living room for everyone's PC's, tablets, etc. The internet worked in all areas of the house. We will rent it again!

  Fantastic location. Close to everything we needed. Plenty of bedrooms, good kitchen if a little short on pots and pans. We had a group of 14 and there was plenty of room to sit down to eat. The game room downstairs was a perfect hangout place foe the kids - great tv. The forest behind the house was awesome as it meant no people!

  We just had a great stay at this property during the week of the 4th of July. It is well positioned on a dead end street (no traffic) where it was only a very short drive to either Tahoe City or King's Point. We had eleven people in our party and there was ample room for all of us to move about freely as well as suitable sleeping quarters. The bedrooms were spacious and uncluttered. Unlike many rentals, the hot tub was located on the same level as the bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. This allowed for easy clothing changes. When we arrived, we found the home ready and inviting. The garage was empty and available for automobiles, boats or storage of bikes, kayaks, fishing gear, etc. It was pleasant to sit on the deck surrounded by mature evergreens and solitude. The kitchen was big enough for several "cooks" to function simultaneously and the applicances were in great condition. All of this made for a great week and great memories. We have stayed in Tahoe at three different occasions and this was by far the best setting we've had.

  The Tahoe Highlands house, where to begin... My friends and I were looking for a ski lease rental to last the entire 2012 ski season with proximity to Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. After touring several places in the area we landed here and signed a 4 month contract with Nigel. As far as dealing with Nigel, he is very personable and responsive. He has set up the house so that it's very easy to get up an running for a stay and very easy to close it down. Almost nothing was wrong with the house so there wasn't even much to contact him about. Yet on the few occasions there were like when we realized after a week that the stove didn't work, he went right out and just bought a new one. The house itself is extremely accommodating. The many beds and rooms will fit even a large group, and there's plenty of pillows and blankets to go around. Four bathrooms more than get the job done for a group too. The pool table room with a nice entertainment setup was great for watching endless ski movies while playing 9-ball. The kitchen is certainly the biggest I've used with a full walk-in pantry. The dining room can bring together an entire group for a communal meal. We were big fans of the gas grill on the large back porch that pipes gas straight from the house line (i.e. no messing with propane tanks). The living room is extremely spacious with great window views to the back yard and another great entertainment system. We definitely took advantage of the wood-burning fireplace throughout the winter. The garage is spacious also with room for two cars and plenty of gear storage, and four cars can fit easily in the driveway. I think the real gem of the property is the backyard access. You are at the end of a cul-de-sac and there is nothing but woods behind the house for hiking/biking etc. It also makes the views from the top deck or from the hot tub on the bottom deck that much more serene. And the ~3 mile proximity from Tahoe City is perfect for whatever amenity you might need. With this warm winter we had a mix of spring/summer-like days in January and April, and some big snow weeks in February and March. I think they can be equally enjoyed at this house and I can't wait to get our group back up in the summertime. We're certainly going to miss it now that winter is over.

  After spending 2 months looking at most of the homes in the Lake Tahoe district on VRBO we finally decided on this one because of the good response from the owner/manager and because it had the bedding configuration that we thought would work best for us. With 9 adults (4 couples and a single) and 3 children plus a baby we needed the correct combination of double and single beds. This house was great - 5 bedrooms all on the same floor and yet we all had our own space and privacy! Being from Australia we wanted to experience a 'white' Christmas however the weather this year (2011) didn't cooperate very well. It was cold enough for us though and the ski areas were open and only short drives from the house (less than 30 minutes) took us to 5 different ski areas. One bonus of the 'no snow' was we were able to drive around the lake - absolutely gorgeous! The owner arranged for a Christmas tree and lights set up in the dining room and we were able to decorate it ourselves. There was also a thoughtful gift for us on arrival. Everything in the house worked fine and the things we enjoyed the most was the living room with open fireplace (lots of wood in the garage) the cloak room (wow, a room just for hanging outdoor clothes!) the pool room which was great for entertainment and getting away from the rest of the family and the spa. Also the huge walk in pantry off the kitchen with an automatic light. The kids loved watching the squirrels from the huge windows in the house. The bedrooms were all good sizes and very comfortable, if anything they were larger than what we thought from the photos online. We appreciated the 3 tables throughout the house, the large dining room table, a small kitchen table and a 6 seat table in the living room which was great for playing games and there was free wi-fi for our 4 computers. The house was clean on our arrival and a lot of things looked fairly new, the leather lounges and the carpets especially. We managed to cook our Christmas dinner with the pots and pans that were available although we did buy some cheap platters and electric beaters as well. There are some wonderful walking trails around the house and not too far away was a lake (dam?) that was frozen over and gave us some fun sliding on it. All in all the house was great, nothing went wrong and it was a very easy rental for us. Thanks Nigel!

  This property is PERFECT for a big group. I organized a group of nine buddies to stay at this property recently, and we had a great experience. I've stayed at many different houses in Tahoe, and this was probably the best I've experienced. Beds: there are ten separate mattresses across the five bedrooms, so you have tons of flexibility around sleeping arrangements. All were good quality and comfortable. Living rooms: Both are great. The upstairs living room has huge, super-comfortable leather couches, a roaring fireplace, a great stereo and a good LCD TV. The downstairs lounge has an awesome pool table, an old-school-flat-top video arcade game (with like eight different games), and a huge TV and stereo. Both living rooms are great for hanging out. Location: Easy access to everything North Lake Tahoe has to offer. Perfect spot. Everything else: great hot tub, great responsiveness from the owner, great decks, great BBQ grill. Overall, a fantastic property!
