We stayed at 47 Sunset Captiva im March of 2004. In one phrase, it was fabulous, and here are some reasons. It was close to all the activities we wanted to do: boating, shelling, parasailing, biking, and relaxing. It was within easy walking distance to great restaurants, bars, and shops. It was a good value offering - sure it wasn't right on the beach, but very close and we didn't have all the commotion (or cost) of being right on the beach. It had a shared pool for when we were tired of the ocean, which was hardly at all. It had all the necessary room(s) we needed, three bathrooms, three bedrooms (using the den), a modern kitchen, a spacious living area, a laundry room, and best of all - a huge porch to enjoy the wonderful weather and occasional music from the village area. It was well maintained and the housekeeping staff was responsive when we needed them. We looked at many houses to rent, and this one completely met our expectations; the excellent accommodations made a fabulous location even better. When we go back to Captiva, we'll check the availability of this house again.

Thanks George for sharing your slice of paradise with us. We had a wonderful time. My 3 boys, 17, 19 and 21 had a wonderful week and we may return next year. The location is so convenient and we enjoyed walking on the beach, building sandcastles, playing tennis, relaxing in the pool, kayaking across the street in the bay and the mangroves and running around the island. Most nights we walked to dinner and then played games to cap off a long day. Great for an active but relaxed vacation.

Being busy, busy, busy all the time is my life. How nice to drive to This home and never have to drive any more the rest the week. We only got back in the car once to go to Sanibel to get some mid week groceries. Great location, clean home, clean complex, nice pool and did I mention the great location. Rented a golf cart from YOLO and made traveling around a breeze for my elder parents who we took with us so they could escape the cold weather of the north. Thanks George for making such a beautiful home available to us!

My Kids and I spent 7 days in Captiva. It was a wonderful time! The weather was perfect along with being on one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida. The home was ideal! It was just what we wanted! 47 Sunset Captiva is lovely home in a small community which is kept to perfection. The home supplies everything you need, in fact, I can't think of one thing it didn't have for us! If you choose to stay here I promise you will enjoy:)

My wife and I brought our 3-year old son to this beautiful home in May 2010 and truly enjoyed our stay. The home allows you to enjoy the comforts of home (nice kitchen, plenty of room, TV/DVD, etc.) while being only a few hundred yards down a private path to the beach. The pool was a lifesaver too on very hot afternoons. My parents came to join us too for a few days and we were more than comfortable with enough room for everyone. The house is also very close to all the restaurants and shops that make Captiva a very quiet, fun place to enjoy your beach getaway. Highly recommended!!

We had a great time! Sunny days in the low 80's, long walks on the beach, kayaking and many Coronas. We'll be calling about a return in 2006. Captiva combines easy access to great shopping, restaurants and activities with a picture-book tropical setting. Great beach and spectacular sunsets. Sunset Captiva offers a great beachfront location with well-maintained community facilities including a pool and tennis courts. The house is lovely and spacious with all the amenities. We'll be back!

We have had many spectacular trips to both Sanibel and Captiva, and have made Captiva our preferred location after our stays in Sunset Captiva. The house was wonderful, fully stocked, and more than met our expectations. The location was supurb with easy access to both beach and bay.

We have just returned from our fourth year in Captiva ... at the same house. And we have already renewed our reservation for next year. When we first decided to explore the west coast of Florida, we searched in Sanibel, the area we had heard about. Then, my husband found a website with a house in Captiva that looked inviting. We spoke to the owner and decided to "take a chance." The owner, George, told us that Captiva was where we wanted to be and that Sunset Captiva was the place to stay. Of course, what would you expect him to say? But we learned that first year that he was absolutely right! The community of Sunset Captiva is wonderful ... and it is the place you want to be. Everything is so easy and convenient. Once there, you can leave your car and walk to everything you need - pool, beach, stores, food, restaurants. The grounds are so well kept and everyone we meet there is always so wonderful. The pool is always clean - and really never crowded. The beach is just beautiful, and also never crowded. If you have children - it is also great. There are always families with kids. By the end of the week, we always feel as though we know so many people. George and Diane maintain the home well, and are regularly updating and improving it. In 2003, we arrived to find new carpeting and new furniture in the den and living room. The year before it was opening up and modernizing the kitchen (very well supplied for cooking), as well as remodeling the bathrooms. The screened porch is great - our son always enjoys being out there and it's great for him to feel like he's outside. This year I suggested to George that they might get some new porch furniture, and I won't be surprised if it's been done when we arrive next year. This year, I took advantage of the sundeck off the master bedroom while my younger son napped. It was delightful, complete with the sounds of (good) music from a nearby restaurant - I felt like I was far away. It seems that everyone who stays there keeps things clean and takes good care of the house, which is very nice. If you do go - enjoy - and please continue to respect the house - we plan to keep coming back for years, and don't want to have to look anywhere else!
