I stayed here with 3 other women for a girls week away. We found the owner helpful and the place was clean and near the areas we wanted to visit. The pictures of the property, however, are somewhat misleading. This property has several apartments and the pictures include some from various ones, not one in particular. Our place had a spiral staircase leading upstairs which was narrow enough that we had to unpack our suitcases downstairs in order to get them up to the bedroom upstairs. None of the pictures or the description showed that staircase, and while it was manageable for us, it might not be for some.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: The review of listing 326869 is incorrect in that the guest stayed in listing 51271. She orginally inquired about 326869 and it was not available. She rented 51271. The pictures on 51271 are totally accurate as are all of my VRBO listings. 51271 does have a spiral staircase and it is pictured in the ad. I never ever mislead any guest in thinking they have rented something that they have not. I cannot accept this critiquie since it is inaccurate. She did not rent the apartment featurd in listing 326869.

We were planning a trip and had looked into a hotel in the Quarter, it was outrageous, so I did a vacation rental search and came across this one. Glenn the owner was a wonderful man to work with, He answered all the questions I had along the way. It was about a 5 block walk right onto Bourbon St. We felt very safe walking. The house itself is I would say it's own little compound, everything is gated and locked including a parking area. The house was clean and very beautiful. We found a deli a few blocks away that has a delivery service 24/7 so we used then for breakfast one day it's called the Quartermaster and I would recommend them as well. This is a wonderful home that was spacious enough for all of us and includes WIFI and a washer and dryer for your use. It was well worth the money and again Glenn was super great to work with, we would for sure stay here in the future if the need arose!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife and I have been to New Orleans a dozen times. We normally stay near the French Market at hotels such as Le Provencal and Richeleu. In recent years we have used VRBO to rent small properties on most vacations. This property on Pauger is one of the best. The price is right and there is pleanty of room for good friends and family to relax close to the Quarter. All the neighbors we encountered were friendly and helpful. On the corner is Langlois, a new gourmet take out. The Ruby Slipper and Penache both a few blocks away should not be missed. The Walgreens on Elysian Fields is great to stock up on necessities you might desire. They also carry beer and liquor, though their wine selection is lame. The neighborhood is quite safe. We spent many nights strolling down to Frenchmen's St and back. It is also a few minutes more into the Quarter. Hope to return next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Our stay was really good. It was close walking to everything. We always felt safe even later in the evenig. The apartment was clean, spacious, good beds and plenty of hot water. The owner was very accomidating and gave good tips to the surrounding area. We would certainly stay there again if ever in the city.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed a Friday and Saturday night. The apartment was great, new appliances, furniture in good shape and everything seemed really clean. Glenn, the owner, was very nice and helpful.. The only negative I could say would be the distance to the French Quarter. It is 0.8 miles to where the party is on Bourbon St and a mile to Jackson Square. The walk was long but we never felt like it was dangerous, the trip is through a nice area. We were only about 4 blocks from Port of Call, where the cheese burgers were incredible. I would definitely recommend staying here especially if you don't mind a little walk.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

MY GIRLS AND I REALLY ENJOYED THIS PLACE. THE LOCATION IS FANTASTIC IF YOU WANT TO VISIT THE CITY AS A LOCAL, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT WE DID ON FOOT EVERYWHERE!!! IT IS WALKING DISTANCE TO MANY DOWNTOWN ATTRACTIONS, JUST WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES!!! FRENCHMEN AREA IS AROUND THE CORNER FOR THAT EXPERIENCE, OR IF YOU WANNA HANG AT THE HOUSE IS IT DEFINITELY LARGE ENOUGH TO DO SO...SPACIOUS DESCRIBES THIS PLACE PERFECTLY. I ADDRESSED A FEW CONCERNS WITH THE OWNER, AND HE LET ME KNOW THAT THE GROUNDSKEEPER IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE. SO FOR EXTRA AMENITIES, SUCH AS TRASH BAGS OR PAPER TOWELS, JUST LET HIM KNOW AND THEY WILL BE PROVIDED. THANKS GLENN :)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

There were 8 of us staying for a school trip early June, and we had plenty of space to go around. The teens loved having the 2nd floor to themselves (2 boys in the bed on the loft, all 4 girls in the queen-sized beds in the room). The place was very clean, comfortable, with well-functioning AC (important in the heat of June) and a great common living space downstairs. It would have been a bit cramped had somebody chosen to sleep on one of the sofas but there was also plenty of storage space to tuck things away. Excellent bathrooms, stacked with towels of all sorts. Very convenient laundry room, soap was provided. Some minor inconveniences were the total lack of recycling (I understand that people don't do it in NOLA because you have to pay for it but I think that as a business, you should set an example and just bite the bullet and do it, it can't possibly be that expensive) -- a bit hard when you come from a recycling-obsessed place such as California. The kitchen could use some better utensils and serving/cooking dishes, as well as containers for leftovers. Also, most rentals don't cater to tea drinkers which is a shame (no tea pot/strainers). The trash can didn't have a lid (brings fruit flies) and was all moldy inside when we changed the bag. Finally, while there was plenty of dish washing liquid, a fresh sponge would have been nice! As well as some courtesy bar soap in the bathroom. Pretty expensive trips to the grocery markets in Vieux Carre if you don't have a car, but well worth the experience of living like a local! The location was perfect to us -- we walked everywhere and even at night past 10 p.m. through Bourbon street or from Port of Call on Esplanade. French market is about 10-15 minute easy walk. Secluded & secure feeling past the entry gates, easy parking if you have a car. Glenn (the manager) was very responsive, prompt with refund of deposit, helpful with all information (especially regarding taking a cab from the airport), and concerned about our experience of the city, while not intrusive. Grounds are lush & kept in wonderful shape. Just a great experience all around, thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just got back from spending two nights at this great vrbo and had a great time. The owner Glenn is so helpful with local information and his unit is "spot on" with everything you need at a great price. If you have time to relax, we even enjoyed sitting on the porch reading in the Spring breeze. The end of Bourbon street is 3 blocks from the unit so walking is handy.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! We stayed here Feb 23-26 2012 on a girls weekend away. The place was so nice, we enjoyed being together instead of hotel room where we would be seperated. Glenn was so quick to respond to my email and was there to check us in, even tho it was late evening. We had everything we needed!! It was like being at home. Just wish we had more time to stay. It was a short walk to French Quarter, which we enjoyed in daytime but took a taxi home at night. Thanks Glenn for a great place. We really enjoyed it. Will recommend it to anyone going to New Orleans.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed here for 4 nights in the middle of August, and had a wonderful time. Glenn was easy to deal with, he happily spent some time at check in making suggestions about local activities, which were helpful, and the place was a steal for the price. Our party included two couples, two kids, and Grandma. Everyone had a bed, plenty of privacy and excellent amenities. The place was clean and pleasant. The kitchen was well-equipped, we had everything we needed, which really made traveling with the children easy. The location is excellent- an easy walk to the French Quarter, and Frenchman Street, but still a quiet neighborhood. We didn't have a car, but had no trouble getting to public transportation or walking everywhere. We will certainly recommend this place- it was great.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Glad you enjoyed your stay in New Orleans and more specifically at my property in the Marigny. I try to be helpful to guests without being intrusive.
