Accommodations:  House, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 1 Bath (Sleeps 5)

This little piece of heaven is located 2.5 miles from downtown Boothbay Harbor on the eastern shore of the pristine Knickerbocker Lake. Formerly a year round house for the owner, this quaint cottage-like home offers exquisite westerly views, great swimming and boating, plus all the modern conveniences. On the upper level, the large open living area contains a full kitchen, a dining area overlooking the lake and a comfy hangout area with cable TV and a propane gas fireplace. There is also a master bedroom with a walk-in closet. The den has a great view onto the lake and the daybed is ideal for an afternoon nap. The one bathroom is located on this level as well.

On the lower level, you will find a bedroom with 2 built-in twin beds looking out to the lower deck and the lake! This lower deck provides a perfect secluded retreat to enjoy watching the children swim off the private dock, spot the loons, or read a good book! If you bring your kayak or canoe, the boating is great. A shaded outside sitting area is the perfect place to light up the chimnea, sip your favorite drink and relax. Although most people don't want to leave once they are here, a variety of activities are offered in the area including golf, shopping, art galleries, walking trails, a YMCA, botanical gardens, an aquarium, ocean cruises, antiquing, and many restaurants.

Portland, Freeport (LL Bean), Camden, Rockport, and Rockland (Farnsworth Museum) are all within an one hour drive.

Why the Owner Chose Boothbay

This comfy lakeside house used to be my year round home. I have always loved living on Knickerbocker Lake and felt fortunate to do so. I am hoping to be a great landlady so that others will enjoy the peace and tranquility of this great spot, on the lake but close to the ocean......the best of both worlds!

The Unique Benefits at this House

The lakeside home is very cottage-like with pine woodwork throughout. The layout is very open and great for families to share lots of quality time. The lake is very clean and great for swimming, boating and fishing. The westerly views provide great sunsets. This home is close to town and all the activity yet seems so far away when you are there.

Owner's Map of Boothbay

As a former educator, I loved living in my little lake home for many years. Now that I am newly retired, I am adjusting to my new life which includes renting my quaint little lakeside home. I am hoping to accomplish some of my retirement goals such as spending winters in the warmer climates, traveling and completing many long overdue projects.
