Casita#13 is a ground floor, 2 bedroom / 1.5 bathroom condo in the Riptide Condominiums on Fort Myers Beach. The unit is 900 s.f., and has been recently remodeled, and sleeps 6. The decor is 'beachy' and casual. The parking is on the grounds, covered, convenient, and secure. The kitchen has all the conveniences to make your stay comfortable.
The Riptide is a lowrise complex of 13 units on the north end of the island 196 feet directly across from the beach. The complex is 3 blocks from Times Square and a short walk to Bowditch Point Park at the far north end of the island. Some guests at the Riptide have commented that a rental car was not required as everything that you might need (for a beach vacation) is in easy walking distance.
Behind the condo, on the canal, is a patio with lounge chairs, a picnic table and gas grill. Some guests have seen manatees in the canal. What a perfect spot for morning coffee, enjoy the morning sun and watch the birds and jumping fish. There is a kayak put-in here for the those who might want to kayak out to the Gulf. It is an easy kayak to Bowditch Park on the Northern tip of the Island.

Location, location. Within walking distance of restaurants, groceries, shopping and night spots, but on the quiet side, just north of Times Square. Time Square has lots of restaurants, outdoor dining, night spots, street performers and a fishing pier that extends quite a ways out. It is a favorite gathering spot to watch gorgeous sunsets.
But if you crave beach time, just walk across the street from this condo and park your beach towel. The beach here is less crowded, but you can view the fishing pier about a half mile away. Beautiful sugar sand beach, dolphins playing in the surf, para sailors, sea shells, and at certain times of the year, sand castle competitions makes for an unforgettable vacation. No need to use a car.
Bike & kayak rentals available. Canal access from the property will bring you right out into the Gulf. Additionally the beach trolley runs right by our front door and will take you up and down the island as well as into Ft. Myers. What more could you ask for. The beach in front of the property and the canal behind the property and all the action just a short walk away.

About the owner: We are retired teachers who live in ski country in New Hampshire. In addition to teaching at our local high school, we owned a B&B. Juggling both careers was interesting, to say the least, so every chance we got, we vacationed in Florida. Now we vacation with the grandkids. Bob is a native of NH, and I grew up near Boston.
Why the Owner Chose Riptide: Fort Myers Beach has it all--96 restaurants, outdoor activities, entertainment, and of course, glorious sunsets. We vacationed at this small condo complex for a number of years and fell in love with the location, the friendly atmosphere and the amenities. When this unit went up for sale, we jumped on it.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo: The beach can't be beat. Sugar sand, clean and right in front of the condo. Biking, walking, seeing dolphins in the surf, seeing manatees in the canal, shelling. So much to do. We recommend the Ding Darling preserve just a short drive to Sanibel where we saw many species of birds and alligators. Riptide is a very welcoming place, easy to make friends or find peace and quiet.
