Fun for Kids and Grownups and everyone in between!
Great little place with everything you need within walking distance! Tom, Riptide Manager, greeted us and explained how everything worked. The deck in the back overlooks a canal where apparently manatees and dolphins frolic when the tide is high. We didn't get to see any but still enjoyed the peaceful grounds that included chairs and barbeque grills. 7-11 was 1 block down where we could pick up essentials. About 3 blocks down is Times Square, an area filled with restaurants, bars, souvenir shops. Friday evening there was a band playing and kids dancing. The beach is right there! We crossed thru beach access pathways and enjoyed the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. Riptide provided beach chairs and even pails and shovels for the kids. The unit itself was lovely with everything except toothbrushes and shampoo. It was clean and very well maintained. Only problem we encountered being on the ground floor was that we could hear upstairs tenants walking at all hours of the night. And when they ran water or flushed toilets, the water ran loudly thru pipes in our unit. We solved that problem by keeping bathroom doors closed. Parking, which is at a premium in Ft. Myers Beach, was no problem for us or my visitors as we were provided parking for 2 cars. November is a great time to visit Ft. Myers Beach. We look forward to our next stay at the Riptide!

We have been to Ft. Myers two other times and rented a house with a pool a few miles from the beach. This time we decided to stay right on the beach. What a great decision...no driving to the beach and waiting in traffic. The condo is not fancy and the compound doesn't have a lot of amenities. However, if the sun is shining and you are only steps to the beach, what more do you need? With kids along this time, ages 9 & 11, this was perfect! The deck out back was awesome for grilling and reading a book, but best of all we saw a pair of manatees swim by on two different occasions in the canal. We were also befriended by a crane who walked right up to us and also enjoyed watching the pelicans crash into the canal for feeding. The kids loved the whole experience and being able to walk to Time Square or Bowditch Park were also huge bonuses. We had a great time....location, location, location. The owners have picked a great place!

The location was absolutely perfect; very close to the beach and close enough to the action in Times Square that we could walk but far enough away that the nights were peaceful. The unit itself is set up very nicely with plenty of room. However, the living room furnishings, the carpeting, and the kitchen utensils need updating. There was a strong smell when we arrived, but with the help of the caretaker and a few deodorizers, we were able to have a pleasant stay. The grounds around the condo are well maintained and the deck out back by the canal is a very peaceful place to relax and sun one's self or read a book. We enjoyed meeting all the other people staying at the condo. They were very friendly and welcoming.

Owner response: Thank you for your feedback. We, like you, feel that the Riptide has a great location and is very well maintained. All the furnishings were bought new in Sept. 2010, however, things do tend to get worn out a little faster in a rental condo. We are attending to your suggestions. Glad that you enjoyed your stay! Great Vacation Rental
Great Vacation Rental
My stay at the condo was great, very clean, easy access to beach and downtown in minutes. Had a wonderful time during my stay. The manager Tom was very welcoming and nice. Would definetely stay there again. Had a wonderful time!! The only problem we encountered was a family upstairs from us with a small child who would stomp and run around every morning and wake us up at 7:00 a.m. (Everyday!!)

This was our first time renting a condo and the owners made it easy. The rental was clean and spacious. We walked to everything, dining, shopping and (the most important) the beach right across the street. Tom the caretaker was very knowledgable and very friendly. They had chairs we could use and umbrellas. We were very happy with our time here and we loved Fort Meyers Beach.

About the owner: My wife and I are New Englanders who love the ocean but not so much the cold of winter as time goes on. We decided that a Florida condo near or on the beach might be something to 'grow into'. In the meantime, we share it with you!
Why the Owner Chose Riptide:
We liked the character of Fort Myers Beach from the minute we first came here. The area is not as built up as some others on the coast and you can't beat the sunsets!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
We are beach people. We love walking / jogging every morning on the beach, watching the wildlife, finding shells, etc...
