This is a wonderful warm house to come home to with two woodburning stoves in two large fireplaces, six bedrooms on three floors and a spacious well appointed kitchen for great gatherings. Rental includes all utilities, firewood, snow removal, b/u generator, Wifi, DVD, HDTV. This beautifully restored eighteenth century home sits on the West River in one of Vermont's oldest historic towns. It is within thirty minutes of Stratton, Bromley, Magic and Okemo and forty minutes to Killington. It is at the base of the National Forest offering hiking, snow shoeing, skiing and snow mobiling. The center hall colonial has three floors of spacious living, three fireplaces, deck and tended gardens overlooking the river and mountains. The house has been maintained since it was built in 1785 and added onto in 1832. It was recently restored and decorated with beautiful muted colors and furnished with antiques keeping with its period. Early morning coffee is a favorite on the deck in warm weather watching the rising mist. Two kayaks are available to take you through the tranquil waters of the West River and nearby lakes, There are three excellent restaurants to walk to as well as the Village Green, The Weston Playhouse, The Farrar-Mansur Museum, The Vermont Country Store, The Christmas Shop, The Gallery and another Country Store. A short ride brings you to Kinhaven Music School, The Weston Priory and outlet shops in Manchester including Orvis for Trout Fishing Lesson. The famous Mill is open in Londonderry in the Winter and Solo is one of our new upscale restaurants in South Londonderry. You'll need to have a horse-drawn, moon-lit sleigh ride at the yummy Landgrove Inn and enjoy some grog.

About the owner: George and Marianne Carroll came to Vermont twenty years ago from New York City and bought this beautiful house from a dear friend whose friend, Mary Travis, helped decorate it.
