House is newly renovated, spacious, clean, comfortable for 8, kitchen well equiped, plenty of parking. Open space around the house, great views. 15 minutes to Jay Peak ski resort. We have used the discounted tickets offered/purchased by the owner. (Didn't ski much because of extremely low temperatures) Great communicarion with the owners. Rural roads, 4 WD or snow tires help in the winter. Busy snowmobile path runs by the house. Shopping / restaurants are not close.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We have rented this property with family and some friends for Christmas vacation/skiing at Jay Peak and absolutely loved it. The house is beautifully renovated, very clean and nicely furnished. It is very comfortable and has everything you might need, the kitchen is equipped with a great gas stove and some good utensils - we did all our cooking ourselves, and enjoyed it a lot. The bedrooms are comfortable, and the common area is very spacious and well organized (if anything, it is bigger and nicer than what we imagined based on the pictures) - perfect for a relaxing evening with family and friends after a day on the slopes. We also loved the location - it's a short drive to the slopes and nearby towns but is isolated enough to enjoy the nature (the views are fantastic) and experience the Vermont charm. The owners are very nice and helpful, and really pleasant to deal with. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away from the city and enjoy the many attractions Jay Peak has to offer.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: As a young child my father used to bring us to Vermont to spend our summer vacations and what wonderful vacations they were. Not surprisingly, we all fell in love with Jay, the friendly townspeople and the beauty and multitude of outdoor activities Jay had to offer. Living in the city, Jay was escapism for us, with lots of rolling green hills, babbling brooks, adventurous swimming holes and magnificent skiing and tobogganing in the winter. Finally after many years of renting, I bought a picturesque 100 year old farmhouse with 16 acres on the Missisquoi River that has been updated but still offers the charm and coziness of Vermont living. Being a great animal and nature lover, this property offers me and my family both great outdoor activities and peaceful relaxation with a scenic view of the outdoors.
Why the Owner Chose Jay:
We fell in love with the location of this restored farmhouse. It had everything we had been looking for, lots of land (16 acres), rolling hills, 1400 feet of frontage on the scenic Missisquoi River right on the property, the charm of an older farmhouse, lots of birds and wildlife and of course the great skiing Jay Peak has to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
We truly love the openness of the property with the views Jay Peak, the outdoors and the birds right outside our windows. We tried to furnish this property with the spirit of the home in mind and are sure that our guests will love it s charm and welcoming atmosphere and its proximity to the slopes.
