Our Historical home is set on a huge landscaped lot, perfect for entertaining or relaxing on one of the decks. Built is 1958, this home retains a lot of its old fashion charm with the right mix of modern conveniences. We are located in between O’Hare Airport and Downtown. The Harlem “EL” station and the Norwood Park Metra stop are a short walk away and both will take you downtown in about 20 minutes. You will be close enough to downtown to enjoy it but leave the hustle and bustle to retire in this quiet oasis. We have plenty of great restaurants and shops are within walking or a short drive away. Woodfield and Old Orchard Malls are close, as well as Muvico Premier Movie Theater. In addition to the great location, our neighborhood is filled with character. The houses have retained the detail and charm of from their historical beginnings. We are surrounded by parks and playgrounds, providing loads of entertainment for children. And feel free to walk around the neighborhood without a care; it’s the safest part of Chicago.
Five bedrooms will comfortably sleep 10; a pull out sofa bed will sleep an additional 2 people. All three of the bathrooms are large and include showers. In addition, the master bath has a 2 person Jacuzzi tub. We provide a fully equipped kitchen and stocked with food or catered meals upon request and extra fee. The formal dining area is perfect for an elegant family dinner. Lush couches in the entrance way and living room are perfect for lounging to read a book or watch a movie.
I will assure you that this home will exceed all of your expectations without the price of a hotel.

After staying in this well appointed family home, you will never want to stay in a hotel or motel again. We can validate everything that was said in the previous reviews. It was a pleasure to hold a Christmas Day family reunion here. It is centrally located and handy to expressways so the gathering of the Clan was easy. Everyone agreed that we should plan to have our holiday celebration here again next Christmas.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, pet owners, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family group of 8 adults and an infant spent a very enjoyable long weekend in this comfortable home. The place was clean and well equipped, just as it was described. The beds were very comfortable, linens plentiful and the kitchen had everything we needed. The location is great with grocery stores close by, plenty of restaurant and take out options in the neighborhood and easy access to the L. I would highly recommend this property to any group looking for a comfortable place to spend time together with easy access to everything Chicago has to offer.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway.

My extended family came to stay at this house when we went to Chicago for my grandson's baptism. The house is very roomy, well appointed, neat and inviting, and in a nicely maintained, quiet neighborhood. Another review mentioned airplane noise, since it is in the O'Hare area, but it was not an issue for us at all. The house is about 5 blocks from the Harlem Street "L" station. The beds and bedding were comfortable in this 5.5 bedroom home. The owner was very accomodating to our needs, and responded quickly to any questions. We brought in some Kleenex and toilet tissue, since the supply was low, but everything else was well supplied -- towels, pillows, linens, soap, dishwashing detergent, plus all kitchenware -- cookware, dishes, utensils, coffeemaker, toaster, etc. I would recommend this home to anyone who needs lots of space at a reasonable price.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car.

Beautiful home and street. Lots of room, very clean, and beds were comfortable. Laundry room on second floor was nice. Access to the Kennedy was easy and not a bad drive downtown. One of our guys loves the burgers at Kumas on Belmont. Food was great, very casual atmosphere, great service (but you have to like heavy metal music). It was only a 10-15 minute ride from the house. Our group was in Chicago for business and didn't spend alot of time "relaxing", but this home would be great for group of family and friends to gather and enjoy the city and suburbs. Some air traffice to O'Hare but not too bad.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

This home is situated in a lovely neighbourhood and the inside of the house is well appointed. The beds were comfortable and there were three bathrooms, one boasting a jacuzzi tub and a large separate shower. (Note: the listing indicates that there is both a jacuzzi tub and a hot tub. There is no hot tub). There were six of us and the house was quite spacious. The train was only a ten minute walk which provided inexpensive, easy access to the downtown core. The only drawback to it's location is that it is on the flight path to the O'Hare Airport. Attempting to converse on the outdoor deck became quite the challenge with the frequency of the planes flying low overhead. Sleeping on the upper floor posed an equal challenge. We had prearranged with the owner of the property to stock the fridge with breakfast items but as of five o'clock on the day we arrived this still hadn't happened so we canceled our request and drove 6km to the nearest grocery store. We had to contact the owner because there was a malfunction with the oven door which we could not unlock. He advised that he would call back with a solution but we never heard from him. Cabs are difficult to secure because the airport is only 10 minutes away and they don't want to take a short fare. Getting a cab to drive from downtown to the suburbs is also a problem for them because they don't have a return fare to the downtown area. We really enjoyed the river/lake tour, the Navy Pier and the John Hancock observatory. We enjoyed a nice dinner at Bubba Gumps on their outdoor patio at Navy Pier as well as a nice lunch at the Patisserie and Cafe located at 65 E Washington St.Recommended for: Girls getaway.

What a wonderful stay we had in Chicago, made even better by the feeling of home in an unfamiliar city. From the second we stepped into the house, I knew it was a great place to stay. The house is beyond gorgeous, comfortable and HUGE! The rooms just kept coming! We had 4 adults, 4 teenagers, and 1 baby. Everyone had their own personal space. The kitchen was open, great to cook large dinners in, and was nice to hang out in. We relaxed on the back patio, sat and talked in the front sitting room, and relaxed after a rough day in the jacuzzi. Matt was very friendly and helpful. He sent us information about the city and some great places to eat and visit. The train was easy to access and faster than the traffic! The neighborhood was safe and the neighbors were friendly. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone I know.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We would definitely recommend this home to anyone coming to stay in the Chicago area! It was only 10 minutes on the freeway to get into the city. The house was very large and comfortable for our group. We used all 5 rooms and all were comfortable and well equiped. The master bedroom even has a large Jacuzzi tub to relax in after a full day of site seeing. Matt was very easy to work with and very responsive. 5 stars all around on this home!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

We were very impressed with this house. The Harlem blue line train station is only a few minutes walk from the house, and will get you into downtown in about 15-20 minutes. The house itself is in great shape, and has everything you could need. The owner is also very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
