  We enjoyed a stay at this condo. As a family that travels we really did enjoy this change up to our normal South Carolina North Carolina Florida stays. I was told we should be glad we came when we did because we missed the spring breakers, I was glad also because we sure did get the beach at times privately to ourselves. While enjoying drinks down the beach at the beach front restaurants. It was unseasonably cold while we were there but we still really got to enjoy the beach on the days the sun was shining. Things that would have been better which we did try to fix was the internet wifi wasn't working. But was addressed while we were there. The back door to one of the balcony's also stuck and impossible to open. That said we didn't get information about the beautiful dunes that my children LOVED we spent days there running and collecting shells. Also the 2nd pool, we were unaware until the last day of our stay that the crowded pool/ hot tub nearest the beach was not the only pool we could use. That would have been more helpful. Also although it is helpful to have wrist bands on to keep out the people who weren't staying there. The wrist bands made me feel like I was at a college frat party and the fact that I seen these people every day it did get repetitive that they still asked to see my wrist. :) I'm sure its worse if the weather is nicer. Again any questions I have or had Julie was quick to respond. I felt the condo was clean but lacked a few basic necessities. Dishwasher soap. toilet paper, paper towels, and the washer dryer outside cost money to run and you need quarters... lol Don't forget your quarters. We are giving an honest evaluation of this location. Would we go back again? Yes, but we'd be better prepared. If your looking for a fun, relaxing beach filled vacation South Padre Island is a great place to go.

  My husband and adult daughter recently spent a week at this condo and had a wonderful time. The unit itself was perfect with ocean front unobstructed views and was well appointed. Julie's list of things to bring was a big help in knowing ahead of time how to prepare. We really lucked out that we were there during "Sandcastle Days" which was a great surprise. Clayton's Bar, about a half mile down the beach from Bahia Mar, hosted the event and we were able to watch the entire event unfold over a four day period. Artist's from all over the world came to sculpt magnificent sand art...so much fun! We had fun trying different restaurants each day for breakfast and dinner. Our favorites were Gabriella's and Pier 19. We will definitely go back again someday!

  I stayed at the Bahia Mar condo with my family and our dog. We loved the location and the condo was beautiful. If you are looking for a short walk to the beach, great beach view and a pet friendly place, this is it. We will be back!

  Our first time to SPI was grand. We were there 4 days.We took three of our Grand Daughters (ages 10, 8, and 6) and the beach kept them busy each day. The condo is in the last unit towards the beach...what convenience. The unit was clean and very comfortable. After dinner each night in town we would come back for a movie. There were many great restaurants to choose from at reasonable prices. Breakfast in the Condo and lunches on the beach each day. Late night walks on the beach with our dog was a treat for her, too! This unit is on the second floor and no elevators, so keep this in mind. Otherwise we had an excellent time.

  We rented the 2 bedroom beachfront condo for Memorial Day weekend. Overall, we had a very positive experience and would definitely stay here again! Since this is a "review", I will list what we felt were the pros and cons of the complex and the unit. Pros: condo was spotless when we arrived; large windows make for an impressive view; it is in the best location in the complex, with pool and beach access just steps away; the newly remodeled pool area is lovely; the grounds are immaculately kept; the unit has been updated (new tile, applianes, and renovated bathrooms); the laundry room is nearby, the guarded complex meant that even on a holiday the pool and beach were not crowded at all, the condo was exactly as advertised, Julie was very pleasant to work with; beach items are provided; complex is quiet Cons: the front parking lot was under construction, so we had to park further away (hardest during arrival and departure); there is no covered parking; the trundle bed is not very comfortable; previous renters had scratched the pots and pans, so the nonstick coating was peeling (making some of them unusable), we needed more room for our groceries (fridge was spacious, but counter space and cabinets are limited. A mobile island with usable counter top and shelves beneath would have been perfect!) In our case, there were 5 adults and we cooked all but one meal while there so most ppl probably wouldn't even notice some of these things... All in all, I would highly recommend this condo for your next South Padre stay! Much nicer than a hotel (and more economical, since you can eat in.)

  The view from this property is spectacular! Our family of 4, (with 2 teens) couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. The kids enjoyed sleeping in the queen size beds, and my husband and I loved that the master bedroom had a huge balcony for enjoying the ocean breeze at night. . SPI was in between crowds during our stay so we often had the pool and beautiful sundeck to ourselves. The grounds were clean and secure, and the condo was very well stocked, with even a few chairs, boogie boards and a football to take to the beach. We would definitely rent this condo again.

  This was our third visit to SPI and the second time staying at Bahia Mar. First visit to Bahia Mar in 2010 while still under renovation. Oct 2011 was our 2nd stay at Bahia Mar and couldn't believe how much work had been completed. Really gorgeous!!!! The grounds are beautiful. You have the option of sitting on the beach, sitting on the boardwalk facing the beach. Boardwalk is all brand new with new outdoor furniture with big thick cushions. The complex also has two brand new pools, both with hottubs! The walkways in the complex are really nice and well lit at nighttime. Nice place to take a dog, which we took two with us! Complex has tight security, anyone not staying there would have a hard time entering the complex. As far as the condo, it is well kept and very nice. I've have rented from this owner twice now and she has always addressed any concern we had very promptly. Everything you need is in the condo and the views to the gulf are amazing! We love South Padre Island and it's one of our favorite places to go. Can't say enough how well they did on the improvements to the complex. Since we stayed there before and after we could appreciate the work they had done! Really top notch work!!! The island is a great place for all kinds of activites and the restuarants are good too. If your looking for a beach vacation, SPI is the place to go. Bahia Mar is a lovely and safe complex and I'm sure it will only get better as more improvements are made. Try to rent from this owner if you go, she is helpful and pleasant and always fair with you. All of her condos are decorated nicely and well kept. Enjoy your visit; we always do!!!!!!

  I believe this condo is the closest to the waters edge on the Island, the 2 decks truly have million dollar views. We kept walking around the condo saying WOW, this is great! It's really unique to find a pet-freindly this nice and roomy, we felt right at home. The complex was quite and friendly, we will definately be back next year.

  This is a beautiful condo that has all the comforts of home. Very spacious and two gorgeous balconies for relaxing that have a great breeze and the soothing sounds of the ocean. The complex has a beautiful swimming pool and Jacuzzi area. This location is steps from the beach yet close to all the shops on the main strip. Loved our time at the condo and will stay again.

  This condo was the BEST well taken care of place we stayed at. The environment was friendly and the view of the beach was just amazing! The condo was big and had plenty of room, my stay was absolutely worth it and overall I will definitely be staying again soon.
