This 'artist's' studio is Mediterranean style, bright and roomy, tiled, with a full kitchenette and open-air tile and stone shower. Recently remodeled with all new furniture, rattan blinds, 100% cotton beddding and new dishes. A sweet and affordable North Shore home with a friendly host family.
Towering above is a 2,000 foot 'pali' which climbs up to a rain forest with abandoned terraces where some 5 to 10,000 ancient Hawaiians farmed for thousands of years. The view from the studio is of lush plants and fruit trees and a pristine river is a stones throw a way.
A 15 minute walk along the road brings you to the rivers end, and onto a white sandy beach where we own a small beach lot with a picnic table and fire ring and guests are welcome to picnic there or just hang out. Wainiha Bay where the river that runs by our home ends at the sea.
If you enjoy walking or swimming, either direction takes you along the most beautiful beaches in the world. Famous Tunnels Beach is just 10 minutes away with some of the best swimming, snorkeling and fishing on the planet. It is just one mile to Lumahai Beach or 'Bali Hai' made famous in the movie South Pacific.
Any short stroll will re-vitalize you as crystal clear air, turquoise waters and brillant sunsets are common fare. Healing massage and yoga mats available.
Old Hanalei town which offers quality restaurants, shopping and live music in the evenings is 10 minutes away by car. There is just no place that compares to this north shore location, and our new, comfortable, affordable and friendly lodging takes advantage of all the natural beauty and blessings Kauai has to offer!
