  I stayed at Bellamango last November while visiting Eleuthera for my girlfriend's wedding. Petagaye and her daughter Bella were a delight and full of local knowledge -- the perfect hosts. My apartment was spacious, safe, very private and eloquently decorated in a vintage / caribbean fashion. I loved their attention to detail and 70s style built-in furniture. I believe Petagaye's boyfriend is an artist and you'll notice his Mark Rothko like paintings throughout. I live by these words -- "Cleanliness is next to godliness" -- and so does Petagaye. The property has hammocks and fruit trees spread through out. It ain't called Bellamango for nothing :) Location was pretty prime. The walk to their private neighborhood beach was about 5 minutes. Water like you can't believe. For those looking for surf and sun and a younger crowd, surfer's beach is only 10 minutes away. I hitched a ride a few times rather easily. Waves were pretty sweet. Board rentals from a guy named Tom. Only bummer was that the apartments did not have Wi-Fi. But no sweat, Petagaye also owns a little sammie shop up the road called the Laughing Lizard that does. Food was amazing, I ate almost all of my meals there ... only place that really caters to vegetarians. This place was perfect. A real gem ... exactly the way you want to feel when you go to the islands.

  Bellamango is a wonderful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas of the Bahamas. It has everything you need (comfortable home furnishings, beautiful gardens, full night sky of stars) and lacks the things you don't need (cable TV, cell phone service, traffic, tourist traps). However you can catch some WiFi at Petagay's Cafe the Laughing Lizard a short walk away. We have never ran into so many friendly, happy wonderful people in one place. We stayed here over labor day and we only saw one other vacationing couple. We had the beaches to ourselves (right down the street from Lenny Kravitz's private property). We were welcomed by huge smiles and genuine interest in conversation by every single person we met. Petagay is a great hostess, kind and knowledgeable about the island and local attractions. Next time we come we will rent a car - you are about a mile or so walk away from groceries, local restaurants, cafes, wifi. Dont be afraid to hitch a ride with the locals!

  Bellamango is a wonderfully appointed place to stay. The towels are plush, the linens are soft, the units are super clean and the beach is a quick walk away. Beautiful gardens and a nice place to relax on "island time". The Laughing Lizard has some of the most amazing wraps and smoothies!! Petagay is a wonderful hostess. If you are looking for privacy with convenience Bellamango is the place to stay!! See you next year!

  Had a fantastic first trip to Eleuthera and a wonderful stay at Bellamango. It was our home for a week and we couldn't have asked for a better place to kick back and relax.

  We truly enjoyed our stay here at Bellamango. The sea breezes, quiet nights and amazing stars were beautiful. This is a great location to visit he wonderful sites around Gregory Town. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous island with us.

  Great spot close to Gregory Town. Very charming and comfortable. Beautiful garden located in paradise! Thanks for the use of the kayak.....we will be back. We loved the Laughing Lizard - excellent Guava smoothie and wraps!!! Thank you Petagay!

  Petagay's little hideaway near Gregory Town is perfect for someone seeking simple yet beautiful surroundings. It's a quiet little hilltop place with lush gardens around and a short walk to a beautiful little beach. We spent hours snorkeling in the little cove - its beautiful. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen and living room - wonderfully clean and great value for money. You will want to rent a car. This part of Eleuthera is amazing... be sure and get to Surfer's Beach and Elvina's.
