My husband and I stayed at the Carriage House in Forestville for our anniversary weekend, and we couldn't have stayed at a more beautiful, peaceful, lovely location. From the small touches around the apartment to being greeted with a great bottle of wine, a delicious tray of cheeses and other snacks by Mark and Rob to the welcoming deck overlooking the lovely gardens. The interior reminded us of a 5 star hotel with all the luxurious things you would expect (high thread count sheets, fluffy thick towels, high end bathroom products and warm soft robes). The location is perfect if you want to do wine tasting at some great wineries or even outdoor activities such as hiking in Armstrong State Park. We walked into Forestville for dinner our first night and had a wonderful dinner at a restaurant recommended by Mark and Rob. With the Carriage house only 45 minutes away from us we will definitely stay there again. We highly recommend it to everyone. It was hard to go home!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My wife and I spent two nights at the carriage house in Forestville. Overall it was a lovely experience. The suite reminded me more of the Four Seasons than some one's guest suite. The hosts were great - attentive while allowing us lots of privacy. The location is close to wineries, restaurants, and attractions even if the street is a bit suburban. We're looking forward to returning there again in the future!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My wife and I wanted to experience Wine Country for our honeymoon, but knew that a hotel room wouldn't be nearly the romantic setting we'd be looking for after a day of vineyards and gorgeous vistas. We found The Carriage House, and from the moment we connected with Mark and Rob it was the trip of a lifetime. They helped immediately by promptly providing us with a seemingly endless list of great things to do in the area (restaurants, hiking, biking, kayaking and canoeing, things to see and experience, and of course a marvelous list of local wineries...each one better than the last!), this helped us get excited and plan our trip. Finding the location was simple, and it allowed us to drive directly north of San Francisco across the Golden Gate bridge and into Wine Country. We recognized the location from the pictures on the site, but what you can't experience by viewing pictures is the attention to detail you'll find at The Carriage House. From the beauty and serenity of the property to the art and peace you'll find in House itself. The bathroom is beautiful and well-appointed. The bed is better than any hotel bed I've ever slept on (and I travel for a living), and the family room is cozy, modern and relaxing. It felt like coming home after long days of adventure and was just perfect! We followed the recommendations that were provided to us by the owners and that led to an amazing experience...one that would be impossible to experience if you were at a hotel or planning this trip on your own. It made it truly relaxing and enjoyable! We cannot say "THANK YOU" enough for such a wonderful honeymoon...we look forward to returning in the future to stay again at the Carriage House!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

As I told Mark and Rob when we met, they had me at 700- count sheets! It's this attention to detail that sets the carriage house at Gopher Hill Farm apart. From the moment you identify the property from the road, you realize something is different about this place. Impeccably designed and maintained, this is an enchanting spot. Jasmine, rosemary, eucalyptus and lavender -- tasteful one of a kind furnishings and artwork; it's truly unique. Mark and Rob have great style and they put a lot of thought into making guests feel special. There were many personal touches during our stay, and it's my impression that every guest feels they were particular favorites, but I think it's just the kind of hosts these two are. Their style will delight you. If you are looking for a place to relax, reconnect with the outdoors without leaving comfort and sophistication behind, you have found it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The carriage house exceeded our expectations, beautifully designed, impeccably clean, incredible landscaping and total privacy. We slept in luxurious accommodations and woke up to a beautiful vista. The carriage house is decorated with care and taste, an amazing shower, perfectly equipped kitchen, a classy living room, extremely comfortable bedroom and a fantastic outdoor covered terrace with an enormous couch and chairs that looks out onto an olive grove and beyond. We woke up to a great blue heron strolling through the grove, came home everyday to the smell of rosemary from the countless bushes blooming all around the walkway, truly just a magical setting. The owners were very gracious, they left us a lovely bottle of wine upon arrival, fresh ground coffee and cream in case we didn't have time to make it the market and restaurant suggestions that came complete with maps. They really don't miss a step, the carriage house had fresh flowers, Bliss products, books, movies, everything you could possibly need or want, needless to say, I was impressed. The carriage house is a find not to be missed!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Beautiful place in a quiet setting. This place is spacious and well appointed. No detail has been missed and the owners are very accommodating and nice. Mark and Rob are unbelievable hosts! While the carriage house looks wonderful in the pictures, they don't do it justice. The space is gorgeous. No details were overlooked and everything in the carriage house is absolutely top notch/high end. My wife could not have been happier reading a book on the spacious deck that overlooks the olive trees. Mark's winery recommendations were spot on and was extremely gracious, actually setting up a private tasting for us. The location is wonderfully secluded while being so close to Healdsburg. We will definitely be back. Thanks again for a memorable weekend. Ben & SarahRecommended for: Romantic getaway.
