The home was as described very clean, plenty of room and breathtaking views. We had a wonderful time. The downstairs basement was absolutely fantastic. We would recommend the cabin for anyone looking for a home away from home getaway.

You all have a great setup, and I am impressed with the small things you've done to make your guests stay a bit more convenient, the small step stool for the kids, nightlights, directions just where needed on how to lock/unlock doors, etc. It was wonderful! The view is breathtaking. The pictures don't even begin to capture the beauty of the view. The house was incredibly clean upon arrival. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and hope to visit again.

My family & I had the most relaxing time, we did day trips to TN , also around the Murphy area. We went fishing and Bruce at the Dam Store helped us with fishing gear and a license he also has a good selection of food. Now back to the cabin we will be back the amenities were suitable for all five of us not that you need three TVs on vacation but we had those also. The cabin is on the end part of a drive way tucked away and over looking the lake very quite we have and will continue to recommend the Gaskins cabin..... Thank you again Carlos

We are very grateful to Cheryl and Carlos for making the last minute arrangements on the Christmas day for us to move on to there cabin in bear paw point. (The original cabin we reserved was a nightmare and we had to move out previous night). Me and my wife arrived there with our 3 year old daughter. There area got a more than one foot snowfall previous night. We were stunned by the view from the cabin. The beautiful Haiwasee lake in front for us surrounded by the snow covered mountains. It was amazing. The cabin was in an unbelievably great condition, so we did not feel like going out. Our daughter enjoyed a lot playing on the slope covered with snow right behind the cabin. Everything was extra clean. We were surprised by the attention given to every bit of detail. You name what you want, that is there. (eg: a sled, snow skate board, ping pong table, ...). Kitchen has everything we needed. The computer and the printer was very helpful in printing directions to nearby places as GPS may not be very accurate in the mountains. Three heating/cooling units and the gas fireplace add a lot to the comfort of the stay in subzero temperatures. In summary photos are not very accurate as everything is better shown !!! We are very thankful for Cheryl and Carlos for sharing there beautiful home with us. Also special thanks to Glenda and her husband for guiding us to the cabin on a snowing day on iced roads. We never regret that drive!! WE'LL DEFINITELY GO THERE AGAIN..

We stayed with a small group of five at this home and were dazzled by the views...The home is clean, modern, and solid. The view of the lake is honestly THE BEST in Bear Paw...period! We have decided to make this place our new vacation home. You will not be displeased!

I just returned from a wonderful stay at the Gaskins' home in Bear Paw! I rented the home with my husband, two young children, and my parents. The view was even more amazing than indicated in the description and pictures! We all enjoyed the ever-changing scene with each time of day as we looked at the mountains and lake. There are great views from each deck and from almost every spot in the house! I have rented vacation property before and this house is the best I have experienced! It is immaculate! The kitchen is well-stocked. The beds are comfortable. The Gaskins have thought of everything! Bear Paw is a lovely development too. It is a bit remote, but that just adds to the appeal! We took several nice day trips and found Murphy to be a friendly town with everything we needed. If you rent this home, you will not be disappointed! I look forward to a return visit in the future. My husband and I just spent a week at the Gaskin's home and had a wonderful experience. The view from the deck is spectacular! The House is very spacious and immaculate. They have thought of everything, we did not want for anything on our visit. There is so much to do in the area we wished that we had stayed two weeks. We had beautiful weather and had an opportunity to rent a boat at the Marina, the people were very accomodating & friendly, the day out on the lake was very relaxing and the views were beautiful. There is plenty of hiking, sightseeing, fishing, anything outdoors is available and with easy access. We would recommend this home to anyone looking to visit this area.

Carlos: We deeply appreciate your allowing us to rent your cabin for the last two weeks in October. Like many others, we waited too long before deciding to make this trip and then had to look on the Internet at many differnt cabins and in four different states to find just the right place to enjoy the fall colors. Your cabin was a great choice! We would highly recommend your cabin to everyone. It is extremely clean, very comfortably appointed, and has everything they may need. So comfortable, that we had no desire to go anywhere else on inclement days, although that was always possible due to the fully paved access roads. We just spent last week in the Gaskin home and it was very nice. We have stayed in many places form VRBO but this one had the best supplied kitchen by far. We spent a very relaxing Friday through Tuesday with family and friends at the Gaskin home. It was during the recent rains that affected Atlanta. Even though it was raining, the views were constantly changing from the deck of this beautiful home. The covered deck and swing allowed us to be outside to listen to the rain falling. I was so relaxed from the serenity of the Smoky Mountains. The Gaskins are the perfect hosts for sharing their wonderful view with us. You cannot ask for a more polite couple in all their concern for ensuring we had a wonderful weekend. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to recharge in your wonderful home.

We spent the month of August 2009, along with some friends, at the Gaskin home. The house easily sleeps eight and is equipped with everything one could need. The view of the lake and surrounding mountains is fantastic, and we enjoyed boating, swimming and fishing. An extraordinarily enjoiyable and relaxing place.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Gaskin house. We had three kids with us and I was very happy to see a variety of games we could all play. There were also many maps of the area which we used to help find things to do and find shortcuts that we really enjoyed. They had everything that we could possibly need and we were all so very comfortable. We had a great vacation and have told all of our friends about their house. We definately recommend staying here.

What a wonderful and relaxing way to spend a week!! The first night my husband had a hard time sleeping, because he said it was too quiet. No sirens, no car doors slamming, no dogs snoring,etc. The view is just spectacular. The home is lovely withso many extras. I really felt like the Gaskins were sharing their home with us and My Husband and I were so humbled by their generosity. We expecially loved watching the birds. The weather was warm the day we arrived and the next day it turned too cold for hummingbirds so I never was able to put out the hummingbird feeder. The last day we were there Don say 1 hummingbird fly near the porch as that day was a warm day but cool air was predicted to come in again later that night and the next day. I feel like I spent a week in a fairytale land and now I have had to come back down to reality. I have already given the info to two friends and I am sure the Gaskins will be hearing from them in the near future.

This vacation home is amazing! I have 2 young boys ( 2 1/2 and 3 1/2) and they LOVED everything about the home...esp. the ping pong table and large ball! You made it so easy to relax and breathe. The 10 days we spent in this house in Bear Paw was delightful. The house had everything we needed both inside and outside. The patio furniture was a big upgrade from plastic chaires, all the bathrooms had two sinks each and even came with night lights, the view was beautiful, the attention to detail was everywhere. We definitely will plan to stay at this house again, soon.

My girlfriend and I just returned from a quiet Easter weekend at the Gaskins mountain cabin. It was the perfect place for a girls' getaway. The home is well appointed and has a wonderful view. It's also close to places of interest like downtown Murphy, John C. Campbell Folk School and more. I'd highly recommend this rental to family and friends.

This was our first experience with VRBO. Our family loved the Gaskins' home! It was even nicer than the photos. It was very clean and very organized. The deck was perfect and the view was something to look forward to every morning and every evening. The lake is seasonal and controlled by the TVA. We went at it's low and there were still boats on it. It is located about 20 to 30 minutes west of downtown Murphy and the drive there is so beautiful. The decor is perfect for a cabin in the mountains. We would love to go back. The Gaskins were easy to work with and very gracious hosts.

Our family recently spent Thanksgiving week at your home in Bear Paw. We had a WONDERFUL time.The house was clean, pleasant, spacious and comfortable.Everyone enjoyed the amazing sunrises over the mountains and lake and the evenings looking at the stars. Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing week! We instantly felt at home at your place! Honestly, we enjoyed ourselves so much we never even gave a thought to what was going on at our job/home. Our recent stay at the Gaskin vacation home in Bear Paw was the perfect getaway. The crystal blue water of Hiwassee Lake and panaramic view of mountain ranges in the distance is breathtaking. We took my Parents to the Gaskin Home for their anniversary last weekend. It was wonderful. The house was nicely decorated and very up to date. It was very clean. The kitchen had every thing we needed. The view is spectacular. We stayed outside on the deck most of our stay, we just couldn't get enough of the view. The lake is beautiful also. It's very peaceful at this cabin. Plenty of board games to play. We went to the Ranger Flea Market and got some great deals on antiques. Great little shops in Murphy also. We have stayed at other cabins in Bear Paw over the last 17 yrs and nothing compares to this one, we will always go back to the Gaskin Home from now on. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at your home in the mountains. We found your home to be as beautiful as the view. Helen Ga. was awesome being German it was especially nice to see such an awesome replica of an authenic Alpine Village. Our stay at the Gaskin Home in Bear Paw was everything we hoped for and more. The home is spacious, modern, and very well laid out! The pictures on the website don't do it justice, it's far more beautiful than the pictures show! The view of the lake from the deck is simply gorgeous. We have several small children who greatly enjoyed the playground as well as the pool for residents and guests of the gated community. The marina nearby rents pontoons that make for an enjoyable afternoon for the whole family. We highly recommend this vacation home!
