  We had a great stay at the Villas De Cortez. The unit was as depicted in the rental description, and everything went very smoothly regarding our stay and the rental process. The property is well maintained and the property manager and his team were around every day we were there. We would definitely recommend this vacation rental to anyone wanting to experience Los Barilles. If you have not been to Los Barilles before, this would make an excellent place to stay as it is nicely located, and includes use of the amenities at the Las Palmas. There are a couple of pools for use only by condo owners / renters, as well as a bigger pool located at the Hotel proper ( next door... short walk ). There are places to grab something to eat and drink at both pools. The restaurant was very good, as well as the little place near the big pool that served up chips/guac/pico for $5. Fishing trips and all sorts of other excursions can be planned in the hotel lobby as well. There is a snorkeling spot nearby, a couple minute walk down the beach ( look for the rock outcropping ) to boot. From the balcony of the condo we were able to spot dolphin, rays, and a very playful whale... a very nice place to relax. All in all, a very nice place to stay at a very fair price. If there is a downside to this rental, it is that there is a fairly large step needed to get into the shower. It was not a problem for us at all, but if you suffered from anything that really limited your mobility, you might find it difficult to get into and out of the shower ( as it is a nice sized shower / tub combination ). This is a fantastic getaway, I would not hesitate to stay again, and would recommend it to anyone.

  This condo is well appointed, clean and tastefully furnished and decorated. The king size bed is so comfortable. It's true that the sunrises are spectacular. The grounds are well kept and the pools are lovely. The design of the lounge chairs are made for comfort which naturally invites one to relax in a beautiful setting.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway.

  We rented this unit for 3 weeks and had a wonderful vacation. It is just like in the pictures, Very clean and the bed is very comfortable. Within walking distance to everything you will need. The staff are great! Pedro was so helpful and knowledgeable. Everyone is really friendly and we met a lot of new friends.There are a lot of great restaurants, Our favorites was Tio Pablos and El Veijo. The best sticky buns are at Calebs Cafe! And must try the chocolates at Charlies Chocolates. We had a great time snorkeling, swimming , shelling. and atv rides, Watching the dolphins, rays and whales from the patio was terrific. The owners are great to deal with and will definitely be renting this unit again!!

  Beautifully maintained property, gorgeous sea views from the balcony. Very clean, quiet, WiFi worked like a charm. Many little restaurants close by, very simple and informal, but serving excellent Mexican food. Great windsurfing, kitesurfing, SUPing, snorkeling, biking - all equipment can be rented from VELA located on the beach 5 min away.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

  My wife and I stayed at this beautiful studio condo for five days in October. Our stay was during hurricane Paul, but we still had a great time watching the storm from the room. We also enjoyed watching all of the boats going out to go fishing in the morning. The condo was clean and well stocked. Pedro the building manager was great, helping out whenever we asked. We will definitely be coming back to this condo in the future!

  My husband and I took a belated honeymoon trip to Los Barriles and found this little gem on VRBO. The price is great, plus they take credit cards, so the transaction was really quick. The owners have everything you need for cooking, and relaxing, including a little porch with chairs, overlooking the ocean and pool area, a deep tub, air conditioning, comfy bed, satellite tv, and dvds. The pool area is nice, much more quiet than the hotel side (which you could also use). Very close to the Smokehouse, which is the hopping place at night, with great fish and yummy margaritas. Block and a half from the grocery store, and a block from the ATV rental. The staff is really nice at the hotel and at the condo. We met some of our neighbors, and they were a fun bunch, too. The only drawback was the gym on the hotel side. I was determined to work off my margaritas, but it's pretty hard to find, hotter than outside, and the equipment I tried didn't work. Looked like no one ever used it, so I decided it was meant to be. The swim up bar on both the hotel and condo side is fun, and the food they served at the hotel was surprisingly good. We'll definitely be back, and look forward to renting this condo again.
