This is our sixth year staying at the 'Cottage' and it feels like our home away from home. This very clean cottage has a newly renovated kitchen, new patio deck with an outdoor shower, three bedrooms and two bathrooms, AC if you want it, fans if you don't, washer and clothes line, lovely yard in the shade and sits right on the beach. There is lots of room for friends and family to join you to stay. The location is amazing - you can snorkel with the turtles, swim, paddleboard, kayak, surf, or even walk to downtown along the beach. The Garrison is a few blocks away which has a track for running & horse races. The sun sets right in front of the Cottage so the view is amazing. It is close to the main road so lots of buses going by. Barbados has so many things to do & see - great beaches, tourist attractions like St. Nicholas Abbey, Bathsheba, & Hunt's gardens to name some of our favorites. good restaurants. There are polo matches & horse racing, sailing, great cycling for riders... the is goes on. Something for everyone. And Austin is very accomodating for making your stay enjoyable.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

As a Bajan living abroad, my family and I have returned to Barbados on numerous occasions, and have stayed all over the island, but this is the best place we have ever stayed and this was our second visit. The cottage is spacious, cool, comfortable and extremely well equipped, set within a quiet private beachside area. There is an abundance of bedding and towels, including beach towels. The kitchen is the best equipped that I have ever experienced in many years of self-catering –not that we had any time for baking, but it was somehow comforting to know that everything was available should we need it. The cottage is situated in Carlisle Bay which has one of the longest and the best beaches on the island. About 200 metres offshore, there are four sunken vessels where you can snorkel or dive. We were very excited to have our own regular turtle visitor close to the shore in front of the cottage. The swimming is very safe here but my favourite experience was simply lounging on the delightful patio viewing the whole bay and looking up at the beautiful old trees that border the property. We also loved strolling down the beach to Bridgetown, which only takes about 20 minutes to the town centre, where there is always something going on. The property is owned and managed by a very pleasant and accommodating gentleman, Austin, who is very knowledgeable about historical events of the island and can answer most of your questions. Can’t recommend this cottage highly enough! We will certainly be returning soon.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This clean, well stocked, 3 bedroomed cottage is just steps from a beautiful, calm beach on the South West cost. There is a clothes washing machine and drying lines (with pegs) by the side of the house. An outdoor gas grill is great for bbq's. There are ceiling fans as well as AC in the rooms. You will need a car to get to the supermarkets. I love this house for it's low-key but comfortable atmosphere as well as it's fantastic location on a beautiful beach. Thanks Austin, for another wonderful family holiday.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

What can I add to what others have said about Bajan Beach Cottages? The cottage we rented was spotlessly clean, Austin (the owner) was friendly, generous and helpful, the beach was great. This compound is private and quiet: the owner's family lives on the premises. The cottage we rented was literally on the beach ... walked out the door, across 20 feet of grass, opened the gate, and stepped onto the sand! We hired a car, and there was lots of parking at the cottage. Barbados is generally amazing, and we are going back for a week in February 2012, to Bajan Beach Cottages of course. The people are warm and friendly, there were no hawkers on the beaches anywhere, the bus service is frequent and there is lots to see and do.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

My family and I spent a week at this amazing water front cottage on Carlisle Bay in Barbados. It has everything that we need. My kids could play in the fenced in yard or play on the beach that is only a few feet from the front door. Off of the coast we found 6 sunken ships to snorkel or scuba. If you are worried about dragging scuba gear to Barbados, don't bother. There is a dive shop two doors down,. This is the perfect destination for families, couples or the individual. If you love sunsets you have to see the sunset that you can experience while you sit on the front porch. I recommend this as a most see destination.Did you find this review helpful?
