  This condo is a great value. It is very centrally located. A quiet beach is only a half block away. The complex is small with a small pool and a few BBQ's. The unit is average size, but living area could be larger. The kitchen was well stocked. The small lanai was nice and relaxing with view of the ocean. Compared to other condo prices I checked out, this was a great deal.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Maui! We received excellent information and assistance from our contact person at Wailana Kai. We were given excellent tips regarding best attractions, locations of wonderful places to eat and shop, and even the location of some amazing beaches. The condo was clean and it was stocked with basic items that were much appreciated and very thoughtful! The condo wasn't right on the beach, but it had a view of the ocean and was only a short walk to the beach. Thanks to our contact at the condo, we brought in the New Year watching the sunrise at Haleakala, enjoyed the atmosphere of Kihei Kaffe, shopped at the Arts and Crafts Market and travelled the Road to Hana with our family. We had an amazing experience in Maui that culminated in our daughter's wedding on Po'olenalena Beach! Every one of our friends and relatives used the phrase "Next time we come to Maui..." We won't hesitate to return and we definitely would be considering and recommending a stay at Wailana Kai! Special thanks for all your help! This condo is a home away from home! It's neat and affordable!

  This was my first trip to Maui, hopefully with more to come. Staying at this condo made the trip very relaxing and enjoyable. Upon our arrival, there was chilled filtered water waiting in the 'fridge -- a welcome sight for weary travelers. It was also great being able to buy fresh food and cook in our own kitchen. I loved that it's an end-unit (on the left side as you're facing the building) -- lots of light since there are windows on all three sides. It's also very spacious -- we had four adults and it never felt crowded. The view of the beach is inhibited only by a thin palm tree, so the ocean is always visible. The walk to the beach literally takes about 3 minutes, depending on your pace and how long it takes to cross Kihei Road. The beach across the street is very private -- I saw at most 5 people every time we went over. There's a daily farmer's market about a 5 minute drive up Kihei road (walkable along the beach if you prefer), and a daily craft fair about 5 minutes the other direction, where we found fresh coconut, beautiful hand-made jewelry, and incredibly wonderful local crafts-people. And when you want to leave the car in the parking lot, try the Maui Bus to get around the island -- $2 to ride all day! In sum, I think if you want peace and quiet, off the beaten path (in a good way :-) and great proximity to shops, food, and beach (did I mention it's 3 minutes away? :-), this condo is a must.   This condo is perfectly situated to meet all your needs for a complete Maui vacation- it's highlights are the friendly owner, location and amenities. The owner is incredibly accommodating. The location of the condo make it perfect to take advantage of the entire island - beaches, snorkel/whale watching tours, Lahaina, the mountains, etc. And the amenities are endless - beach chairs/towels, recreation equipment, well stocked kitchen equipment. The condo building is very intimate, not having a lot of units - it was very quiet and the neighbors are eager to assist with your tourist questions. My personal favorite is that the beach, only steps away, has the best sunset views since you don't have the isle of Lanai cutting off the sun on the horizon.
