This stylish, ultra-luxe accommodation was completed in August 2003. Steamboat Valhalla is named after the heavenly hall in which Odin, king of the Norse gods, received the souls of valiant Vikings who were slain in battle. Today, our Non-Smoking Valhalla was created to pamper the bodies and minds of the outdoor warrior, whether he or she be a skier, snowboarder, snowmobiler, biker, hiker, hunter, or boater.
Our home is decorated in mountain eclectic luxury, with all of the details you would ever want in a vacation property. Inside, you will find four bedrooms--two of which are master suites--and four and a half baths. The master suites have king size beds, with ultra-plush linens, goose down feather beds, and over-sized comforters. The bathrooms have steam showers, his/her sinks, thick plush Turkish cotton towels, premium soaps (Neutrogena),and shampoos (Aveda and American Crew). Each room has a TV, DVD/VCR, CD player, iHome Clock Radio/iPod player, and a sitting area.
The third bedroom suite has a queen size aspen log bed with goose down feather bed, 300-count Egyptian cotton sheets, and an inflatable full size air mattress. The fourth bedroom suite has a bunk bed, two twin beds (trundle), an inflatable queen size air mattress, TV, DVD/VCR, an XBox and PlayStation 2 (w/several games)--definitely the kids' room!
The Great Room has a gas fireplace, 14-foot windows with unobstructed views of the top of the Gondola, Persian rugs, 42" plasma screen TV, and a Bose Surround Sound home theater. We also have a sitting area with a scanner/printer so that you can make copies of any documents you might need while away from the office. A fax machine is provided for your convenience.
The gourmet chef's kitchen is stocked with all basic cooking amenities including spices, olive oils, several vinegars, Nespresso cappuccino machine and capsules, and professional cooking appliances. The dining area can accommodate up to eight adults (with the leaves in the table), and the breakfast bar can accommodate four more place settings.
There are several board games (Monopoly, Risk, Scrabble, Rigamarole, Candy Land, Uncle Wiggly, etc.) and many quality novels in our game chest. We also have a full video library with over 100 movies (lots of classics and kids flix). In the heated garage, you will find a parking space for two cars, ski racks, a dart board, and a four-pair PROFESSIONAL BOOT DRYER and HEATER. We cannot emphasize how great this amenity is: Warm, dry feet are one of the keys to a wonderful ski vacation!
You are only a ten minute walk, or a one minute drive from the gondola. The free skier shuttle bus stops 30 yards from our front door, and it runs every ten to fifteen minutes.
There is soft light, pleasant warmth, and overall comfort at Steamboat Valhalla. We have created this property for the discerning vacationer who wants ultra-luxury, relaxation, and no worries. See you in Steamboat!

This is our 3rd or 4th trip to this vacation home and we love it. The owners keep the home stocked with all the amenities of being in your own home which is so convenient for travelers. You don't have to buy spices and other general condiments as you would in a typical rental. The beds are super comfortable and there is plenty of space. We will keep coming back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful stay at Steamboat Valhalla. It was beautifully furnished and the beds in the master bedrooms were ultra-comfortable! We thoroughly enjoyed the steam showers, the Nespresso machine and the gourmet condiments and spices available to us. We had 2 families with 4 adults and 6 kids and we didn't feel like we were tripping over each other. The kids loved the video games and the movie selection. The only thing I wish the house had was a 2nd family room or game room on the lower level. It would have been nice to have a designated area for the kids to hang out. The heated garage and the boot dryer were a big bonus. It was a short shuttle ride to the base, and we could have easily walked had we not had our ski boots on. We would definitely stay in this home again. Colin was very informative about the amenities and gave helpful information for our stay in Steamboat. Thank you!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks, Tara! I'm so glad your group had a good time in Steamboat. I hope the snow was to your liking--I know that we had several storms come in just before your arrival. I really appreciate the feedback on the need for a second family room: we are in FULL agreement! In my opinion, it is the one downside of our property that can make stays a little challenging for larger groups. Feel free to contact me in the future should your travel plans have you back in Steamboat Springs. We are always happy to offer added discounts for return guests. Have a great spring!

We shared with another family for a total of 8 (4 adults and 4 children ages 16-13). We were blessed with great weather, snowy and cold - perfect for a skiing vacation. The condo was great, large enough that we all had space but small enough that it was still cozy. The bus/shuttle to the slopes was right out the front door. We never attempted the walk to the slopes, thought in ski boots it might have been too much. Kitchen was well equiped and nice. Whole condo was very clean. We loved the steam showers. We heard lots of great things about Steamboat in the summer. So we are planning to return and will check to see if this property is available. Thanks for letting us stay in your wonderful home.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a magnificent stay at Steamboat Valhalla - despite the lack of snow. The house is spacious, comfortable, and delightfully appointed. Our group of 6 adults and 3 kids (6-9) had plenty of space without stumbling over each other, and we enjoyed the games and extensive DVD collection. Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were large. Really enjoyed the steam showers. Location was great - if you didn't have to schlep skis, you could walk to the gondola in 10 minutes; with skis it was a 10-15 minute free bus ride and the bus ran at least 3 times each hour. Valhalla's a bit pricy, but worth every cent!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Steamboat Resort is great. The mountain is very spread out...Something for everyone! It snowed every day were here--not a lot but probably a total of 9-10 inches over the week!! The only "problem" was getting out in the morning and then again at night. Steamboat Valhalla induces such a state of tranquility and relaxation that it's hard to leave!! There were mornings I didn't get out til noon...and as far as the restaurants go...couldn't tell you...again, we were all perfectly content with "just hanging out"!! Your mountain home is truly phenomenal. From the espressos to the comfy beds...I highly doubt we'll stay anywhere nicer!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Five feet of new snow! It was our best skiing in 15 years of ski trips in the Western US and Canada! We love the house and looked forward to all of its comforts each day. The kitchen, beds (!), robes, and TVs were all appreciated. It's a lovely home with an easy trek to the Gondola and town plus a magnificent view. We hope to return to it!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We loved the view, the furnishings, games, PS2, and the beds! The kids especially loved Emus; they're still wondering when he'll talk. No snow, which was a bummer, but we still got some good runs in. And to cap it all off, the last night of Winter Carnival was fantastic. A skier on fire, jumping through a ring of fire--unbelievable! Thanks again for allowing us to rent the place. We'll be back this summer!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: We love the down-to-earth vibe in Steamboat. A real ski town with real people. GREAT kids' ski school. Tons of powder. Newly renovated base area at Gondola Square.
Why the Owner Chose Alpine Vista:
Steamboat is family-friendly, affordable, and fun. It gets the best snow in Colorado, and the town is authentic. All of this only 3 hours from Denver.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
We have supplied our property with all amenities that you would expect from a luxury vacation. The Alpenglow from our Great Room window is SPECTACULAR! The steam showers in each master suite are fantastic. We are close enough to Gondola Square to walk (10-15 minutes). The free town shuttle bus stops right in from of our house, so there is never a need to walk to the lifts.
