  We loved this unit, and hope to rent again from Bev and Mike! This was our first time at Papakea, and, it's just great. The putting green right off our lanai was always busy and fun. Just beyond that, is the pool and lots of barbecues, and it's great fun to use them..everyone was friendly and we met lots of nice folks. For places to eat out: We always go to the Aloha Mixed Plate, which is just behind Safeway, on Front street in Lahina. They have breakfast, lunch and dinners. Do try the local breakfasts...really good! Golf at Kapalua is super, along with Kaanapali. There are lots of places to walk to from the resort, and this is fun: we walked to the Hyatt at the end of Kaanapali, stopping along the way to watch the whales and have drinks and pupus at Leilani's. Truly a wonderful vacation, and now back to the real world! Yesterday, there was some snow in our rain. Oh well!

  A very nice condo on the ground floor. Beautiful well maintained grounds. We used the Expedia travel agency that was on site for two island tours and had a great time. Right next to the ocean and stores, snorkel rental, restaurants within easy walking distance.

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

• Great value & location for Maui

  Papakea is well located on the West Shore of Maui. Easy access to beaches, restaurants, shopping and activities. The complex is maintained very well and the staff were helpful. I encourage the Expedia presentation as they make the packages very easy to book and participate - seamless. Road to Hana package is a LONG day... really long... long... take a long and make it really longer. B102 is easy in and out! Ground floor is important for those with knees. Really enjoyed the morning rainbows from the lanai and awesome sunsets from the lawn.

  We had a great time in this main floor 1bdrm/w pull out couch condo. It had A/C but we never used it as the light constant breeze and the 2 ceiling fans kept us comfortable whenever we were in. No bathtub but we prefer showers and always had plenty of pressure and hot water. There were 3 of us. We ate most of our meals in, as one of us has diet issues and the kitchen was plenty big enough. Times Grocery is a full size food store just across the road (about 200 yards away) with just about everything and reasonable prices. Meats, milk, fresh veggies, liquor/wine/beer, deli - just like N. America. Mini mall beside Times had great tasting pizza and ice cream/gelato/sherbet. 2 nice pools were never crowded so we always got a chaise lounge. Played miniputt on the course around the pool and BBQd just about every night on the modern Webber gas BBQs next to the pool. I think there were 8 or10 around each pool. Always clean and well maintained. No beach as the tide came right up to the seawall, so we just used the nice sandy beach at the next door place without any interference. You can walk for miles to the south from Papakea either along the beach or a boardwalk just above the beach line. We wanted an affordable, quiet, relaxing vacation at a modern nice place and were extremely satisfied with the ground floor unit we rented at Papakea.

  This condo was great, nice to be on the ground floor. Nice to sit on the lanai and look over the beautiful grounds and the ocean. A nice quiet and relaxing place to stay and close to walking to some shopping and places to eat. A short walk and you are on Kaanapali Beach and can walk for miles.

  Bev & Mike, thanks so much for everything. The condo was terrific during our stay. The ground floor unit worked out so well for us and our 2yr old, easy to walk out and play on the putting greens, pool, hot tubs or cook our dinner on the grills. Papakea resort is really a great place, and very well maintained. They just put in new high end Weber grills, clean the pools & hot tubs early every morning and have staff onsite all day cleaning up and keeping the grounds perfectly manicured. The location is also excellent, very close to food, groceries and excellent beaches (Kaanapali, Napili etc). The condo has everything you need for a great, relaxing vacation. During our stay, the tub seemed to be a little clogged, I sent an email to Beverly and within minutes she had responded and came over the next morning to have it fixed! Also put in a new microwave and stopped by to say hello. It was great meeting you both and we look forward to staying here again next time! Thanks for everything.

  WOW, I fell in love with this place. Jealous I do not own it. It is a beautiful ground floor unit. It made it so convenient going to the beach and hauling in my luggage. The owner has thought of everything to make it feel like a resort vacation. There was iPod/iPhone docking stations, stereo, DVD, and a flat screen TV. They also furnished golf putters, tennis racquets, binoculars and even boogie boards and sand buckets for our grandkids. We didn't have to buy anything for the kids to play. It worked out great having the putting green, pool, BBQ's and juacuzis right out the sliding glass door in the living room. This was so much better than getting a motel room. We saved money buy having a fully equipped kitchen for breakfast and we used the BBQ's for dinner when we weren't out and about exploring the island. To say the least, we loved it and we will be back.

  Because we have children, this ground floor ocean view condo was perfect for us! The condo had everything that we needed: putters, tennis rackets, binoculars, nice flat screen TV, even sand buckets. The rate was really good for such a nice condo. It even had pretty granite in the kitchen and bathroom. Made for a perfect vacation for our small family.
