Enjoy a beach holiday, swimming, walking, fishing, shelling, watching the sunset at our privately owned, completely renovated and well appointed condo. Or, if you are a boater, moor your boat on the canal at your back door and just bring a suitcase! For rest and relaxation enjoy the private and quiet location of this corner unit on the ground level. The condo has an open floor plan and is tastefully decorated in bright, light Florida beach colors. The screened lanai is surrounded by tropical vegetation.
This is a home away from home- and more! Some highlights of the accommodation are: a well equipped kitchen; a 42 '' flat screen HD TV/DVD in the living room with a satellite connection that also connects to the TVs in the bedrooms; air conditioning and fans throughout; washer/dryer in the unit. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom and best quality king sized bed. The second bedroom has comfortable twin beds. The screened lanai (netted patio living area) opens to the garden and leads to the dock area. This area has a fish cleaning station, BBQ, picnic table, lounges and a 'coffee table book ' view of palm trees and the canal. The magnificent white sandy beach is just a moment's walk past the swimming pool and through the dunes !
The condominium complex consists of 64 units in 8 low level buildings. Guests have full access to the large swimming pool, a welcoming clubhouse, with 24 hour internet connections ( as well as the Wi-Fi in the unit) and helpful and friendly on site management.
The driveways and walkways have been renewed with brick pavers - cool and eco-friendly! The complex is on the beach which is world famous for collecting shells. the condo is conveniently located on the east-end of the Island just a few blocks from the causeway. there is easy access to shopping, restaurants, health spas, a recreation center (with exercise room & classes, tennis ...there are daily, weekly and monthly memberships available), golf courses, and the historic Sanibel Lighthouse.
Bikes can be rented on site to ride the network of over 25 miles of paved paths which are adjacent to quiet roads. Paths also go through the wildlife preserves to provide an opportunity to explore the wildlife and vegetation. Sanibel Island is world known for its fabulous shelling and dedication to wildlife preservation. It is a Florida vacation destination with a perfect all year round climate and Unit A1 is truly a small paradise on this paradise island!

This condo is lovely. Clean, neat and very quiet. Canal behind the unit is inviting and it is fun to watch the "resident" manatee come out in public quite often. The unit has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable sleeping arrangements, and is located in a quiet area. The gulf is just steps away as well as the pool and clubhouse. My family had a great stay in this Sanibel condo. It's very clean and nicely decorated as the photos show. Kitchen had everything we needed. The bedrooms look out on the canal, which is a lovely view. The condo is located across the street from the rest of the complex and has easy access to a great uncrowded (in August, anyway) beach, and my son always insisted on a daily swim in the property's pool, which was clean and well-maintained. Staff was helpful with bike rentals (available on site) and the clubhouse has plenty of literature on things to do on the island. Our trip went without a hitch thanks in large part to Jane's condo. It is off the beach but no more than a 2 minute walk...and less to the pool. The beach on Sanibel is as advertised…very natural with shells aplenty. The clubhouse is nice and the shaded area beside the pool was a welcome retreat when we wanted to get out of the sun for a while. Everything about the condo and the grounds at Sanibel Arms is first class. Not on the beaten path of Periwinkle Drive but very close to it. A mile walk, run, or bike ride gets you to Pinocchio's (ice cream) and/or the Lighthouse Grill for breakfast. Money saving tip: if your family can decide on one flavor of ice cream at Pinocchio's then get a quart and take it back to enjoy whenever. I'm writing (part of this) from the dining room table looking out through the lanai at a very pleasant evening. We just got back from an excellent dinner at the Sanibel Grill (reco'd by the very friendly lady at the office) and of course the required dessert stop at Pinocchio's! As you can see we've become Sanibel "regulars" very quickly... :) We rented bikes on Tuesday (right from the Sanibel Arms office) and rode to Ding Darling Preserve (about 22 mile round trip)...the island is very bike friendly and the riding trails are great (and flat). My wife and girls just walked down to the pool (which is very well maintained). We went up to Captiva to rent kayaks and had an awesome time paddling out to an island with a cool water trail that takes you through a mangrove forest…including many mangrove crabs…very cool! We can't believe how nice Jane's place is...and what a lucky find! It was perfect for us! Very spacious, well appointed, and comfortable. We simply couldn't have asked for more. Having 2 bedrooms and 2 baths was so nice and convenient. You can't get that in a hotel. The kitchen and dining table served very well for some breakfasts, lunches, and a couple dinners. We are spoiled now and will likely never stay in a hotel again! And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the master bath shower...simply elegant. Best, Dwayne CarrDid you find this review helpful? We've stayed in unit A1 at Sanibel Arms twice so far and will definitely be back again. We immediately felt right at home in this comfortable condo. We love the fact that we can cook our meals in the well equipped kitchen and the BBQ option around back is great! The sunset on the canal is a beautiful view while your working at the grill !! We enjoyed eating our dinners in the lanai and watching movies at night. The shower is amazing and the beds are super comfortabl So after a day biking through the nature preserves, swimming in the pool or searching for shells on the beach, we had this lovely place to come home to! We couldn't have been more pleased with our week of "paradise" that included swimming in the pool, walking on the beach (both just a few steps away), shelling, biking, watching the manatees and fish jumping in the canal at the back door, enjoying breath-taking sunsets, or exercising at the local spa. We also enjoyed the various discussion groups and purchasing fresh sea food from the local markets. There is nothing better than preparing scrumptious sea food "just right." Yes, this condo does, in fact, have everything! We will definitely return for another escape.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Thank you so much for sharing your condo with us this week. Sanibel Island has absolutely become our new favorite vacation spot. The beautiful bike rides in the mornings, long days at the beach and great food to top it off made for a relaxing, memorable week. The kids even got to fish for the first time and very much enjoyed that experience. Your home was everything we expected and more. I especially loved the decor (very warm and comfortable). This was our 8th year in Sanibel but our first time on the canal. I'm sold! Location, Location, Location... Staying on the canal was a win/win for us all - me, on the beach - the kids fishing from the dock and we took advantage of the boating as well. The manatees swimming in the canal was such a wonderful treat. Thank you for the memories!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
