My Wife, her Sisters and yours truly have just completed a four night stay. This is our second stay and, as seniors, we highly recommend this home and location as, at least, a once in a lifetime experience. The Warren Leopold architectural home design is a unique experience in itself, especially the raised tub/shower. This early October time frame allowed us to sit on the patio, just above the breaking surf, night and day to enjoy the sight, sound and smell of the Pacific Ocean. The brief storms, that quickly passed, gave us some showers and lightening that we watched through the wall of windows from in front of the fireplace. Then we were right back out to the patio. My camera was in my hands most of the time to catch the colorful sunrise's and sunset's as well as the seabirds and beautiful landscape. The surf and tides's were moderate, but on our previous stay, the surf and tides were larger and higher and we even saw and photographed surfer's surfing the large waves in the large kelp bed just off shore. We BBQ'd and ate dinner outside on the covered table as we looked down and through the beautiful side yard at the ocean. Yep....it was another wonderful experience. If your younger couples, the atmosphere of the home and location is very romantic and perfect for a getaway location. The double bed, located in the living room before the fireplace and looking out at the ocean through a wall of glass, is a wonderful experience to wake up to. Again, I am recommending this home and Leopold Cove location as a must, on our Bucket List, to stay again.

My husband and I stayed in this house for our 5th anniversary and it was just what we needed. We live in the northern LA area with all the hustle and bustle, so this home and how quiet it was suited us just fine. The only sound was the ocean that you could hear from anywhere in the house. The view/back patio is amazing. We spent hours just watching the waves come in, the seagulls and pelicans, and the sunset - GORGEOUS! You can go down the steps but with all the giant spaghetti like kelp on the beach there were a ton of flies. The ocean was quite active when we were there but I imagine there are more peaceful waves at different times of year. At dusk you see raccoons scoot by and there are tons of birds too. Really the reason we came was the patio to see/hear the ocean. All the wildlife was unexpected and wonderful. The home itself is quirky and a combination of an older home and a large new addition that is almost all glass and is where you spend 95% of your time. The fireplace warmed the room just perfectly and the sound and sights of the ocean through the floor to ceiling windows made it perfect. If I had one negative it would be the size of the bed. I think it's listed as a queen but it's very small (short and not very wide). My husband and I are both wide shouldered people and we really struggled sleeping comfortably on our backs. For us, we'd fold up the bed next time (it's a Murphy bed) and bring our air mattress. The good thing is the bed is up high so you can see the ocean easily. The decor of the house is really ecclectic and great. The bathtub is definitely a piece of art. If you are in any way physically handicapped, the bathtub/shower won't work for you as you go up a ladder to get in. A little revealing with the window but very creative use of space. Hubby and I took a wonderful 2 person bath with plenty of room. For showering it's a little more odd and awkward but I definitely won't forget it. :) The home was a perfect place for my husband and I to enjoy time together, to see Hearst Castle ( just 12 miles down the road), and enjoy the peacefulness of the cove and quaint town of Cambria. I would highly recommend this stay for a couple who wants a romantic getaway. There is a small second bedroom and a large outside space with a place to BBQ for groups but really it was cozy and lovely for just me and my husband.

Picture do not give the house the full idea of just how wonderful it is. As we walked into the house, we shut off the world and enjoyed our honeymoon. The house has everything we needed except for food. The living room has a great view of the sunsets as well as the back patio The front garden area was very nice on the afternoon while cooking on the bbq. The weather was perfect as was the local wines. The town is a short drive away for supplies and botique shopping. If you are looking for a place to get away , a place that was hand built and there are all sorts of details to find, this is it. I highly recommed this to anyone that wants a great house t ostay on the central coast. We cannot wait to be back!

We just came home after spending six relaxing nights at Leopold Cove. We loved the location and the quirky, comfortable, clean house; we loved that the kitchen was very well equipped with nice dishes and everything you need to cook nice meals. We are hooked and already looking forward to returning for another getaway.

Spent five nights at Leopold Cove in October and loved every minute of it. The house is quirky, very well-equipped, spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable, and best of all, the location is magical. If you love the ocean this place cannot fail to disappoint. Even the bathtub has a seaview. Set in a residential neighbourhood the only sounds to be heard are the ocean and the sealife, both of which simply could not be any closer. It was the perfect place to relax and far exceeded my expectations. The shops and restaurants of Cambria are only a short drive (or brisk walk) away. I loved exploring all the little galleries. Despite it being a long way from home I feel sure I'll be back again one day. In fact I can't wait.

I have just returned home after a long weekend at Leopold Cove. The house was perfect in every way. The house is pretty small & the hallway is narrow, so for more than 2 people it would be very cozy. And definitely not wheelchair amenable even though it's basically one level with a sunken living room - especially since the bath/shower requires a climb up a few steps. Sitting on the back bench by the fireplace was just like being out on the patio, without the chilly breeze. The listing & photos are entirely accurate - lots of choices of where to sit outside, on the back patio by the waves, or in the front enclosed courtyard.. The owner was helpful & I would definitely recommend this as a spot for a getaway. An easy walk to the Fiskalini Ranch Preserve walking trails, and an easy drive into town on Burton Drive to the shops & restaurants. If you want a massage, check out Therapy By the Sea downtown for a real treat.

Wow! My Wife, two of her Sister's and I spent 5 day's experiencing the wonderful sight's, sound's and smells of, in our opinion, an overwhelming home and ocean location. The architectural design of the home and the, on the ocean, location was an experience anyone, who loves the ocean, need's to share. I can't, in these comments, get across what the experience truly was. You have to be there and experience it yourself.

This being our first trip to the west coast, we selected this house for it's location on the ocean. We couldn't have been happier with the home, it's central location to attractions in the area and the peacefulness we were looking for. Having the fortune of seeing both humpback whales and orcas from the deck during our stay made our time there complete. Beautiful house, beautiful views, a highly recommended experience!

I meant to do a review once we were back from our trip and here it is almost a year later and I'm finally getting to it. My daughter stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time. The house itself is most unique..Leopold built very individual houses. Fun walking around and identifying some of his others. Loved the patio, great place for afternoon wine and relaxing. The windows in the living room give you the best view you could ask for anywhere. Very clean, well appointed and ready for guests. The washing machine was a little confusing, but once we got it everything worked fine. Great walking in the neighborhood and around the point. This was a trip to spend time with my daughter who has little time of her own with 3 children from 3 to 17. She is one busy mom. She was able to sleep late, enjoy lazy days and beautiful evenings. The restaurants in Cambria are terrific, especially Robyns and the Sow's Ear ( I think that's right). Nice shops to wander through. Watching the sea otters was a favorite pastime or at least trying to find the little critters. We enjoyed San Simeon and the elephant seals up the coast. Drove up the coast toward Carmel one day and had fabulous views and a great lunch on the coast. Couldn't have had a better place to relax and unwind. I would recommend Leopold's Cove to anyone!

We went up there for a relaxing weekend last November and were not dissapointed. We look forward to returning around the same time this year. Some of our big plans will be...to lounge around looking for wildlife, sip wine on the patio, and just enjoy nature at its very best. In a home that is unique in more ways than I can say. Had a great time. In a fantastic home. In a fantastic setting.
