  This is a well kept property with all the conveniences. Location is close to shopping , restaurants, San Diego and coastal locations. Maria is most accommodating and takes pride in her place and the accommodation experience she provides. House and yard are beautiful and include fruit trees and a vegetable garden she offers for use. We had a wonderful time and hope to stay again! Thanks Maria!

  This property is amazing - Already trying to figure out when we can stay again. 5 minute drive to the beach and less than that to get to groceries, really good restaurants and the best movie theater we've ever been to. The back yard has a territorial view that was a total surprise. The pool was chilly in February but the hot tub was perfect. We loved the fruit trees and garden which provided us with nummy salads every day. The kitchen has everything you could ever need. The master bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept on in years. We can't say enough about our stay in this beautiful home. I have a bad knee and use a walker and a cane and was able to get around just fine (several easy steps at the front door). The house has little treasures sprinkled throughout so it's important to the owners and returning guests like us that renters take special care of it during their stay. The owners made us feel welcome and were available but also respected our privacy. Don't just only read our review read all the other 5* ratings this property has received if you are on the fence about renting this piece of paradise.

  We are regulars to the San Diego area who normally stay closer to the city but this time we wanted to try someplace further north. We were very happy with our choice of this lovely home. Located within minutes to the I-5, the beach, La Jolla, Del Mar, etc. we could not have asked for a better location. Pictures and description of the home were very accurate and we were not wanting for anything as it is fully equipped with all the comforts of home. Loved the pool! The owners met us on arrival and showed us around and answered all of our questions. The neighbourhood is great for power walking in the morning to a nice stroll in the evening! A shopping center close by provided easy access to grocery stores (organic too), restaurants, theaters and a little bit of everything else (Chocolate shop next to Starbucks is very, very dangerous) We would certainly recommend this home and hope to return again!

  Our family of four recently stayed here and couldn't have been happier. We have rented houses/condos for our past 10 summer vacations and I must say this is the very first time I've ever felt like we were staying at a friend's house. From the time of contact, until the time we arrived, we dealt directly with the owner, Maria. She was wonderful throughout the booking process and upon our arrival. Our flight arrived early but Maria was very flexible and made sure the house was ready to allow us an early check-in. She was there to meet us with the keys and review everything with us in person. It was such a different experience than the usual management company process...and such a nice treat. Maria is so accommodating and generous - she encouraged us to eat whatever we wanted out of her beautiful vegetable/fruit gardens, etc. The kids had a ball picking fruits, tomatoes and eggplants - we don't have much success in Texas with our gardens (due to heat and deer) so this was so much fun...and educational for them. The house is just as pictured and the outdoor space is amazing. The kids thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the pool and we spent every single afternoon in there cooling off and having fun. The location of the house was perfect - so close to grocery shopping, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. We visited all of the tourist spots (Legoland, S.D. Zoo, La Jolla, USS Midway, cruise tour, Birch Aquarium, etc.) and this house was so conveniently located to everything. Maria even provided us with information for babysitters (daughter/son of her best friend) and we used them one night to celebrate my 40th birthday. The sitters were darling and the kids had so much fun they wanted to have them come babysit again (but we left the next day). Thank you for a wonderful vacation!! True story - when we got on the plan the kids asked when we were coming back.

  We loved this home. It was perfect for our family of four. It is close to the beautiful beaches of Del Mar and La Jolla. It also close to great shopping and restaurants. It is very easy to get around. The home is beautiful - exactly as depicted in the photos. It is very clean and inviting. Maria and Michael welcomed us at the door and gave us a quick tour when we arrived. They were very generous hosts. We were fortunate to have great weather and used the patio, pool and hot tub daily. I would highly recommend this property. We have it on our list of properties to visit again in the future.

  We enjoyed a wonderful 4 night stay at this lovely property in April, 2012. Maria was a gracious hostess, and she was very easy to communicate with via email. The property is in impeccable condition, and has obviously been given a lot of love. From the quiet, central location with easy on/off access to freeways (about a 20 minute run from the airport with no traffic) & shopping centers, to the beautiful interior design, and the amazing backyard - we could never say enough good things about this home & it's owner! We loved the gourmet kitchen which was loaded with spices and all manner of cooking utensils, the front veggie garden, and all of the beautiful paintings throughout the home. The photographs included on VRBO truly don't do the home justice - it's simply so much more elegant in person! Don't hesitate in the least to book this property - unless you have small kiddos - it's really not appropriate for them! We are already plotting a return trip to San Diego, and this will be our absolute first choice for lodging!

  This is a fabulous property! Very well kept and in a quiet neighborhood. The owners are great to work with and the home is close to grocery stores and shopping. Our stay was great!

  This review is WAY overdue - My family stayed in this beautiful rental last summer and as I said in the title - it was the best experience we've ever had with a vacation rental. We've rented through VRBO on many occasions, but Maria and Mike are THE BEST, most gracious and generous owners we've ever come into contact with. They make you feel like an honored guest! The home is perfect - we loved everything about it. It's clean, comfortable, and cozy. The pool and outside living and dining area are spectacular! Mike and Maria share the beautiful vegetables and herbs from their garden. Our children and I had a ball preparing delicious meals. The home is in a perfect location for exploring San Diego. We hope to return before long!! Sorry it took me so long Maria!

  Thanks so much Maria and Mike for sharing your home with us. We have had a wonderful month here. Everything in the house was fantastic and you could not have been more hospitable. Hopefully we can come back for any even longer stay next time. The location is great for getting in to San Diego and for getting to the many golf courses that we enjoyed. The restaurants and beach in Del Mar are just a short drive away .

  My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. My daughter particularly enjoyed picking fresh fruit and vegetables. The home exceeded our expectations. The kitchen was well stocked and the backyard with pool is beautiful and perfect for a week of R&R. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to a friend. Maria was very helpful with information on the area and responded quickly to a couple of questions I had. This was my first experience with VRBO and it was very positive. We hope to be back soon.
