Special features include fireplace, a full gourmet kitchen, and a 350 square-foot deck off the living & dining area with a view of the Pier/Surfer's Point/ State Beach Park Sand Dunes. The deck is set up for lounging, sunning, reading, relaxing, and dining with a fabulous gas bbq.
Master bedroom suite is on the third (top) floor, and has a lovely king-size bed. A trundle bed/twins make up the guest suite. Deluxe linens are provided. The amenities are endless. Gardens are lush and beautiful, Bamboo, flowering plum, palms creating an ambiance of privacy.
Walk to the great local beach restaurants and coffee houses. Seaward Avenue offers local restaurants with authentic Mexican food at Joannafinas, fresh fish and chips at Seaward Fish & Chips, Spasso Trattoria & fun-filled historic Dukes Restaurant for great breakfasts, hamburgers, arcade, and family fun. Petite Reve Bakery/Coffee shop has the best scones and pasteries-let the owner Kate know you're staying at Nirvana!
Olivas Park Golf Course is 1 mile from "Nirvana" and has been rated one of the TOP 10 Public Courses in the COUNTRY!

Von's market, Meridian's Italian-eat-in/take-out/or delivery, Scrupples hair salon, Donut Shop & Starbuck's are also on Seaward You never have to get in your car or leave the beach! Rent bikes and ride to the Channel Islands National Park Visitors Center located in the Ventura Marina or ride the bike path to the Pier/Old Town Ventura or up to Santa Barbara/Ojai, if your game. Hop on board one of the cruise boats (Island Packers)that takes you out to the Channel Islands for a truly great adventure. Whale watching cruises during the winter are a must.
The Mullin Automotive Museum located 10 miles away in Oxnard is an homage to the art deco and the machine age – eras that produced exquisite art and magnificent automobiles. The museum is home to examples of the finest of historic French automobiles from the Bugatti to the Voisin as well as significant and representative decorative art from this same period. It is a must visit!

Year Purchased: 1978
"Nirvana" one of a plethora of homes and rental properties designed and built by Bill Vivatson in the Pierpont Beach area of Ventura. We lived there until 1981 when we moved up to McElrea Heights overlooking the City. With both of us being native New Yorkers, we chose to change the status of our duplex in 2004 (the ocean side) into a vacation rental, mainly to accommodate family and friends who come to visit. "Nirvana" is not a revolving door vacation rental. It is also our home at the beach and therefore, we take great pride in keeping it a pristine getaway for us and you. I have been dubbed the "Ambassador" (unofficially) of Ventura and will be more then happy to provide information on what to do, where to dine, just about anything you would want to know about our City. "Nirvana" is a perfect getaway/retreat in a very quiet, low keyed lane.
Please read the comments posted by guests who have enjoyed their time at our home. Our rates and availability calendar are updated and firm. Being a short term vacation rental, we are bound by the City's ordinance of renting on a weekly basis during high (summer season). No short term renting is permitted.
Mahalo for inquiring - you won't be disappointed. We are registered with the City of Ventura and abide by the good neighbor policy. There is a three night minimum stay.
The Unique Benefits of this Villa
"Nirvana" is located next to the San Buenaventura State Beach Park with jogging/walking trails leading out to the Pier and Downtown. There are two golf courses within 5 minutes (Olivas Links Golf Course-rated one of the TOP 10 (2009) public courses in the NATION (2009), located near the Ventura Marina where you can take a boat trip out to the Channel Islands with Island Packers, ride the carousel and enjoy wonderful seafood at Brophy Brothers one of the many great restaurants located there. Bike riding/rentals are also available at the State Beach Park and the Marina Shopping Center a few blocks away. Come and enjoy our City and uncrowded beaches.

The accommodation is modern, clean and has everything a family needs. The Deck is bonus- offering good views and a great are to enjoy the Californian weather if you need a respite from the beach. Patti, the owner, is a great host; amd made sure we had everything we needed. The property is well placed to visit Ventura and surrounding the area (Santa Barbara, extensive Premium outlets near Oxbard, Malibu Beach etc etc) The house is almost on the beach, and is in a nice peaceful neighbourhood. Freeway is close enough without being too close, and can easily be reached in under 5 minutes. Overall I can highly recommend this property to American and Europeans.

Wow! regardless of the photos and the other reviews I think all of us are a little skeptical when it comes to renting vacation properties...Let me assure you that this beach home is just as perfect as it looks! From the moment I arrived at Nirvana I felt relaxed and pampered. Nothing has been overlooked - from the tasteful furnishings and beach themed art, flat screen TV and fireplace to the outrageously outfitted kitchen, fluffy towels and comfortable beds - it's all here! Nirvana is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood, so if your idea of vacation is lounging on a deck with a fruity drink in hand - perfect! Go exploring in charming Ventura or take the short drive to scenic Ojai. Everything is a short walk or drive from this perfectly located base. I only stayed 4 nights on this visit - but trust me, with any luck I'll make it back to Nirvana soon!

Stayed at Nirvana this past weekend... and it was simply a slice of heaven! The location is perfect... one block from the beach, we walked each morning... and convenient walking distance from town. Walked to a fab breakfast at The Florist Sunday morning... BEST restaurant coffee I've had in a LONG time... And the omelet was done to perfection. This wasn't intended to be an eating weekend, but ended up to be just that. Lunch from Meridian's was excellent on Saturday.. so we stopped on our way out of town for a sandwich for the road. And Cafe Fiore in town looked "cute" from the outside so we thought we'd give it a try Friday night... Here again, one of the best dinners I've had in a LONG time... so much so that going back Saturday night was unanimous! Back to Nirvana... it was quite cozy, very clean, delightfully comfortable with an unusually well-stocked kitchen. If the weather was a little warmer, we would have enjoyed the great deck... we'll just have to come back again... great for outdoor entertaining. Nirvana may not be for folks who have trouble navigating steps, but for anyone else, its perfect. Needless to say, the weekend couldn't have been better... and the icing on the cake was Patti (the owner) who made sure we were well taken care of. Patti, thank you so much... I highly recommend a weekend in Ventura at Nirvana... It was absolute "nirvana"!

Nirvana provides a great location and amenities in a quiet neighborhood. Adjacent to the State Beach and walking distance to grocery and several restaurants; downtown is a little farther but also walkable. The large deck is particularly nice and wind sheltered. The home was very comfortable and we will be back.

We left heat and humidity in Boston and arrived to warm sun, a cool breeze and tranquility at Nirvana. Our family had a wonderful stay. The house is well-stocked with everything we needed, even a cooler for our beach picnic! We enjoyed early morning jogs along the beach path, and gorgeous sunsets on the deck. Thank you for the warm welcome; we will be back, I hope soon!

A good position to explore Ventura and excellent for the beach. Every need is catered for in this exceptionally well stocked property, very well maintained, clearly loved and with a great deck. Not a large property but perfectly adequate for 4 people and the deck makes a big difference in the wonderful Ventura weather. Patti is a great host and I strongly recommend Nirvana (a place without fault) to anyone as an extremely comfortable and good value retal. Patti thanks for everything. 10 Days of sheer peace,quiet at the ocean. Walking for miles along the beach with the salt water in the air, the smell of sea weed every once in awhile brings back childhood memories of family outings with cousins,aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers,and parents. 2030 Ayala is NIRVANA we will always remember our time there. Walking to town and enjoying the downtown area of Ventura is so convenient and healthy. There is a lot going on in Ventura we love eating at Andrea's fish mkt. in the Harbor. Another must is the Scotch & Sirlon overlooking the Harbor. Time flies when you are having fun at NIRVANA (appropriately named).

We had such a terrific relaxing time. Actually felt like we were at home.The weather was a little cool but made for such a cozy stay. Even though we only live an hour away, I felt like we were in Hawaii. The home, view, comfort,and more importantly, Patti and Gary. What a terrific time.
