Wow! regardless of the photos and the other reviews I think all of us are a little skeptical when it comes to renting vacation properties...Let me assure you that this beach home is just as perfect as it looks! From the moment I arrived at Nirvana I felt relaxed and pampered. Nothing has been overlooked - from the tasteful furnishings and beach themed art, flat screen TV and fireplace to the outrageously outfitted kitchen, fluffy towels and comfortable beds - it's all here! Nirvana is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood, so if your idea of vacation is lounging on a deck with a fruity drink in hand - perfect! Go exploring in charming Ventura or take the short drive to scenic Ojai. Everything is a short walk or drive from this perfectly located base. I only stayed 4 nights on this visit - but trust me, with any luck I'll make it back to Nirvana soon!

Stayed at Nirvana this past weekend... and it was simply a slice of heaven! The location is perfect... one block from the beach, we walked each morning... and convenient walking distance from town. Walked to a fab breakfast at The Florist Sunday morning... BEST restaurant coffee I've had in a LONG time... And the omelet was done to perfection. This wasn't intended to be an eating weekend, but ended up to be just that. Lunch from Meridian's was excellent on Saturday.. so we stopped on our way out of town for a sandwich for the road. And Cafe Fiore in town looked "cute" from the outside so we thought we'd give it a try Friday night... Here again, one of the best dinners I've had in a LONG time... so much so that going back Saturday night was unanimous! Back to Nirvana... it was quite cozy, very clean, delightfully comfortable with an unusually well-stocked kitchen. If the weather was a little warmer, we would have enjoyed the great deck... we'll just have to come back again... great for outdoor entertaining. Nirvana may not be for folks who have trouble navigating steps, but for anyone else, its perfect. Needless to say, the weekend couldn't have been better... and the icing on the cake was Patti (the owner) who made sure we were well taken care of. Patti, thank you so much... I highly recommend a weekend in Ventura at Nirvana... It was absolute "nirvana"!

Nirvana provides a great location and amenities in a quiet neighborhood. Adjacent to the State Beach and walking distance to grocery and several restaurants; downtown is a little farther but also walkable. The large deck is particularly nice and wind sheltered. The home was very comfortable and we will be back.

We left heat and humidity in Boston and arrived to warm sun, a cool breeze and tranquility at Nirvana. Our family had a wonderful stay. The house is well-stocked with everything we needed, even a cooler for our beach picnic! We enjoyed early morning jogs along the beach path, and gorgeous sunsets on the deck. Thank you for the warm welcome; we will be back, I hope soon!

The accommodation is modern, clean and has everything a family needs. The Deck is bonus- offering good views and a great are to enjoy the Californian weather if you need a respite from the beach. Patti, the owner, is a great host; amd made sure we had everything we needed. The property is well placed to visit Ventura and surrounding the area (Santa Barbara, extensive Premium outlets near Oxbard, Malibu Beach etc etc) The house is almost on the beach, and is in a nice peaceful neighbourhood. Freeway is close enough without being too close, and can easily be reached in under 5 minutes. Overall I can highly recommend this property to American and Europeans.

A good position to explore Ventura and excellent for the beach. Every need is catered for in this exceptionally well stocked property, very well maintained, clearly loved and with a great deck. Not a large property but perfectly adequate for 4 people and the deck makes a big difference in the wonderful Ventura weather. Patti is a great host and I strongly recommend Nirvana (a place without fault) to anyone as an extremely comfortable and good value retal. Patti thanks for everything. 10 Days of sheer peace,quiet at the ocean. Walking for miles along the beach with the salt water in the air, the smell of sea weed every once in awhile brings back childhood memories of family outings with cousins,aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers,and parents. 2030 Ayala is NIRVANA we will always remember our time there. Walking to town and enjoying the downtown area of Ventura is so convenient and healthy. There is a lot going on in Ventura we love eating at Andrea's fish mkt. in the Harbor. Another must is the Scotch & Sirlon overlooking the Harbor. Time flies when you are having fun at NIRVANA (appropriately named).

We had a wonderful time and couldn't have picked a better place to vacation than Ventura. Nirvana is such a comfortable, cozy hideout and is in the perfect location. We enjoyed running along the beach full of surfers, shopping in downtown, and I don't think we went to one restaurant there where the food was anything less than fantastic. (For sure we will have to visit the kite store again too, since that day of all of us flying kites on the beach still stands out in my mind as an all time fave.) Nirvana was the perfect getaway from our crazy, non-stop, fast-paced lives in the city and we look forward to our return. Thanks so much for having us!

This was our fourth or fifth consecutive year vacationing at Nirvana in Ventura, it's our home away from home. It makes for a very relaxing trip, knowing that all we have to pack is our clothing, because everything else is waiting for us when we get there, in comfortable, familiar surroundings. We really look forward to morning coffee on the sunny deck, pilgrimages to Ojai and Santa Barbara, and exploring the hiking trails. It makes a wonderful break from -20 weather back home and lets us brace ourselves for the rest of the winter.

We had a great vacation at Nirvana. The beach house was very clean, comfortable & well equipped. The deck area was wonderful and it was great to be so close to the beach. We enjoyed downtown Ventura & the harbour area and there were many great places to eat breakfast, lunch and/or dinner within a short distance of the house.

We've been back for a month now and looking out at an East Coast "grey morning" I am brought back to our sunny California visit! Patti and Gary have thought of EVERYTHING to make a visit perfect! The location is terrific, the furnishings are lovely and comfortable, the kitchen lacks nothing! Coffee on the sunny deck is a great way to start the day. Of course, our personal tour of Ventura and Ojai was frosting on the cake - a wonderful visit reacquainting with old friends!! Many, many thanks!

We always use the Web VRBO to locate vacation lodgings for us. The “Comment Reports” do help us make our final selection and all comments were outstanding regarding Patti’s and Gary’s sand castle—i.e. Nirvana.Following are some afterthoughts we have after spending one week in October at this beach house. Newspaper: I MUST have my daily newspaper, sports , business. Walk up early one block to Harbor Blvd---Hotel Marriott. They have USA Today, Wall Street Journal and local papers. If you are nice they will think you are staying at the hotel and you will receive USA Today free!!!!Main Street If you enjoy antique stores you will be in heaven on this street. You have your pick from clothing, furniture, pottery etc etc. If you think you might purchase a large item/s to add to your current collection best you bring a trailer.Short Statement: Good to Great Street for antiques.Beach Walking: You are one block from great walking beach. Don’t wear high heels-ha ha. Buy sandwiches and wine from Von’s and enjoy yourself.Ventura Harbor Village: Drive your car to the harbor. Park at the entrance and then walk and walk and walk. Many retail shops and restaurants and cafes. (See below for three great restaurants.}They have harbor cruises and bikes to rent. We did not try but if weather is good take a cruise.Dinning: Many places enjoy yourself.Ventura HarborVillage: Andria’s Seafood. If you like/love seafood this is the place. Not fancy but to avoid the dinner crowd go early. Cole slaw a must with your fish.Christy’s: For breakfast. Take an early walk and stop at Christy’s for big breakfast.Open from 7:00 to 2:00 pm only.LePetit Café & Bakery: Bread and pastry outstanding.Main Street: 71 Palm Restaurant (French) Situated in a lovely restored house. Dear Patti, day-to-day life had us back immediately after our return to Germany, so it took me a couple of days to finally sit down and comment on our fall vacation at "Nirvana"... Here we go: We were incredibly lucky with the weather - warm sunshine every day in Ventura whereas fog seamed to be lingering in other areas :-)) What a cozy little home you offer to your visitors! We loved having breakfast on the deck and preparing dinner in the well-equipped kitchen. The boys espiacilly liked "chilling" on the comfi couch or chatting with their friends on your computer (by the way, Felix forgot to delete ICQ before we left - sorry...) Trips to L.A. and to Ojai, walks on the beach (the boys enjoyed a dip into the cold water, too) and sunbaths on the deck made those few vacation days really special to us! I came here for a week to work on a book, and it was the perfect spot to enjoy creative solitude. It was also a wonderful place to relax, so even though I was working every day it felt like a vacation. The house is charming and comfortable, and with the beach just a short walk away, the location ideal. Ventura itself is a delightfully laid-back community with a thriving cultural scene and an abundance of good restaurants. Nirvana is the perfect name for this Ventura haven. After seven days of enjoying the quiet and the beauty of the surroundings, I certainly felt calmer when I left.

This place is beautiful. My grandparents stayed here for a month and a half while visiting from England. The house had everything that they possibly needed and they were very comfortable. It was right by the beach and the were able to enjoy the ocean and beautiful atmosphere daily. This was truely a wonderful place to stay

My husband and I and our friend and her son had three wonderful days and nights at Pierpont Nirvana. Perfect Spring Break getaway, Nirvana is a home away from home (but in a much better location). We will definitely come again - and stay longer. There is so much to do and see in old town Ventura, plus walks on the beach, the Farmers Market, bike riding,etc. A wonderful, relaxing and friendly, we highly recommend it.

This is truly a comfortable condo! You are a short walk to the beach and have a beautiful view of sunsets from the deck. The unit is furnished with everything you need. Excellent quality linens and thick towels. The spacious deck has umbrella, dining table & chairs and chaise lounges. You'll definitely be comfortable here! We enjoyed our stay and hope to return again.

Thanks to Patti and Gary we had the best vacation! The house has everything you need, even the internet! Relax on the deck from morning to night, have cocktails, BBQ and watch the sun set, it doesn't get any better than that! The location is perfect, just steps to the beach and great places to dine. The shopping in Ventura is great fun! We can't wait to go back! Our only regret is, we did not do this sooner. It is truly Nirvana! Chris and Bob

We had a fabulous vacation thanks to Patti & Gary and Nirvana! We were worried about traveling with two small children (ours are 3.5 years and 8 months old) but our fears were put to rest the moment we called Patti and told her our plans to visit. She had a crib, stroller, toys and even bedding for both kids, and believe it or not, the place is pretty child-friendly as well. We loved being able to walk to the beach and to the many restaurants, but we especially loved hanging out on the spacious deck. We highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing trip out to the California coast!

My family and I stayed at Nirvana for 10 glorious days in June - not a cloud in the sky for the entire time. So much for June gloom! We ate breakfast on the deck every morning and barbequed almost every night. Nirvana is like a home away from home. It's true when Patti says to "just bring your toothbrush." For me, the best part about the home was its location to the park and promenade that goes for miles along the beach... and beyond. You are a short block and a half to the beach, and all beach equipment is already at the house -- so don't bring any with you (like I did). I can't wait for another visit to Nirvana -- wondering if June will be as nice next year!

Pierpont Beach Nirvana is a wonderfully charming three-story get-a-away in a friendly little beach town that has yet to be discovered. There is just about everything within walking distance, however, you may not want to leave this comfortable and well-decorated home away from home!

An unexpected trip for a family emergency resulted in an extended stay in Ventura. During this difficult time we were able to have a haven away from home--enjoying the amenities of the neighborhood from coffee bars to favorite restaurants as well as healing walk/runs near the beach. Curling up at night to watch a DVD and enjoy the fire in the fireplace made all the difference. Thank you for the comfort and ease of this beautiful and well appointed home away from home.

What a wonderful place!! As everyone has commented, it is inviting, with many thoughful touches (including great lighting, for those of you who like good light to read). Excellent location - a few minutes walk for sunset on the beach, a little further for some good relaxed restaurants, near an easy jogging/bike path. The owners are both incredibly nice and well-organized.

It seemed as if we were enjoying the proprietor's own 'peronal space', and in a sense that was exactly the feeling that the property conveyed. Every small detail reflects the personal intimacy that went into making the home what it is today, a warm and inviting refuge with it's different levels of habitation, the private lanai over the carport, even scented candles were provided. An excellent place to stay! May we do it again please?

We had a dreamy week at the Nirvana which included kayaking on the Channell Islands, relaxing on the deck of the Nirvana which was so quiet and beautiful and going to Fiones where I had the Chingon Margarita. The only bummer was having to leave.

I was fortunate enough to stay at Nirvna last September with my boyfriend. This adorable home is both comforting and elegant and situated on one of the most beautiful beaches. We had a very romantic and relaxing vacation thanks to Peirpont Beach Nirvana. Thanks!!!!

I have been coming to the House at the Beach for several years. It is so comfortable and so not beachy. Everything is at your fingertips, including a hose to wash your car. Downtown Ventura is a must.And on Saturday morning walk or ride to the Farmers Market. The Rubicon Theatre Company always has great productions. The beach and sunset are breathtakingly beautiful. Restaurants are plentiful. The Secret Place Spa is very relaxing. Yoga, hiking, biking is all available. You will not be bored at this home for as long as you are here. Thank you for creating such a great space for people to come to. San Buenaventura is a very well kept secret.

This was a first time experience for our family, and it was a great one. We thoroughly enjoyed the house, with all the comforts of home and the convenience of fixing our own meals. The deck was a great place to relax and watch the sunsets each night. We also enjoyed that there was plenty to do in "town" if we chose to do that, or just sit back and "de-stress" and curl up with a good book. We enjoyed the weather, the cool breezes and fresh air. We wish we could transport them inland! It was a truly fun experience for us, and tailor-made for our family. Thanks, Patti!

"Nirvana" is a most appropriate name. Every stay that I have enjoyed here has been blissful. The ocean air does wonders for you. The deck lets you enjoy the outdoors without having to move from the house. There is a sense of calm that comes over you in this very comfortable, well appointed place. The ocean beach is a few short steps away. The sunsets are magical.Town and all of its pleasant shops and restaurants are a short drive. Thank you for all of my stays.

DELIGHTFUL, PRIVATE, AND MOST MEMORABLE. WE SPENT THE WK. OF "911" WATCHING THE HORROR OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN NEW YORK CITY, WE WERE IN A "COMFORT" ZONE AT "NIRVANA", IT DEFINITELY WAS PEACEFUL AND TRANQUIL WALKING THE BEACH AND ENJOYING THE SIMPLE THINGS IN LIFE, LIKE "FREEDOM".
