This home is fantastic! Pictures are impressive, but don't do it justice. What you can't see is the amazing location - so close to everything. And, the details in this home are the real secret. Very nice linens, great "cooking" kitchen, hot tub and floorplan for a large group. We walked to beaches, watched the surfers and had amazing sunsets. We've decided this is the place for us for many trips to come. Thanks for a very memorable weekend.

Everything about this experience was flawless. Garrett is a gem and was a delight to organize this trip with. He was incredibly responsive and easy-going, committed to make sure my guests and I had a wonderful stay. Patti helped get us settled in and was amazingly cool. The house is lovely, well-kept and had all the amenities for a great weekend. The local is perfect; a short jaunt to the action yet removed enough to feel like you can get that escape you're craving. Thank you Garrett and Patti!!

We rented the house for a ten-day stay so that our whole family, three generations living on both coasts, could have a place to gather together. It couldn't have been a more perfect place in every respect. The pictures and description are absolutely accurate. The bedrooms are lovely and comfortable, perfect for the 8 of us who stayed there, and the way the house is laid out it was easy for all 24 of us to be together and eat together, and still have places to go to have more intimate conversations or quiet time. The house is immaculate, and equipped with everything one could need - even toys for the little ones - and the location is perfect, across the street from a fantastic place to walk, run, or ride bikes, overlooking the ocean. Patty, who manages the property, was always available if we had questions or needed anything. Our only hesitation in posting this review is that once more people know how fabulous it is, the harder it will be for us to get reservations when we want them.

Our family stayed in this gorgeous home over the last thanksgiving break. We loved the location and the spaciousness of the home. When booking, I asked about a few kitchen items, the house did not have them, but the owner provided them upon arrival. We love to cook when we travel (when staying in homes/condos) and needed a few more items, and was informed by property manager that most people have chefs or have meals catered in when they stay here. With that being said we will stay again, but know, in advanced, what we need to bring. The location is amazing, we walked the cliffs EVERY SINGLE DAY! We loved the layout. We had several families, some with small children, come at different nights of our stay, and we were never "on top" of each other. Also really enjoyed the outdoor seating (upstairs and downstairs); watching the surfers, come and go. I would HIGHLY recommend this home to anyone....

We had 10 of stay at the house and went wine tasting and then came back to have a BBQ cook off amongst us. The House is totally set up to entertain a group and the Kitchen is awesome. Some of us finished the night off in the very relaxing Hot Tub in the back yard. All the rooms are very spacious and make you feel like you are right at home. A great night sleep, Better than any hotel I have stayed at in Santa Cruz. The view is nice and it really is just a short walk to the Boardwalk and Pier. We had a great time and are looking forward to doing it again this year.

Where do I begin? Upon our arrival, we were amazed at the location of this property, in addition to the meticulous manner in which this house was and had been maintained. We were greeted by the property manager Patti, who we instantly bonded with. She was so helpful to make sure we knew all the amenities this property possessed. We settled in as if this were our home. From top to bottom, nothing had been left out from a well-stocked kitchen, the best linens, bedding, furniture, including DVD’s, large screen TV’s, all the extra’s to make our stay so special. The beds were more than comfortable and only the best in bedding accessories. The décor was to die for and the theme of “Tommy Bahama” was felt throughout the house. The owners thought of everything to make sure that the house tied in with the ocean setting just a block away. The color scheme, wall décor & finishing touches made us feel so relaxed. To top it off, there was an outdoor fireplace to sit by to make the evenings cozy and warm. We didn’t have time to use the hot tub but the location of the tub provides privacy for a late night relaxing experience. I think the owner thought of everything and it was apparent that the experience that his guests had in this home was top of mind. You couldn’t ask for anything else. For a first class experience, there was an espresso machine and a Keurig Coffee maker w/ assorted coffees/teas at hand. How could you not feel more than at home in this property? The property was clean & well stocked throughout. The description of this property did not leave us disappointed. What we saw on the website was what we got!! Our stay was for 4 nights which wasn’t enough time to enjoy the entire area. We were there for our daughter’s wedding, so many other festivities got in the way of our taking advantage of activities with the wonderful ocean beaches just blocks away. We were able to sneak in a walk along the water’s edge to take in the view of the ocean, surfers & sunset. Our only regret was time. Garrett was great to work with to arrange our stay. He was more than accommodating and professional while making our plans. I am hoping to stay at this property during our next event in Santa Cruz. Our kudos go to Garrett, for being a first class VRBO owner & for providing a world class property to rent.

Beach Birthday Getaway

My husband rented the property as a gift to celebrate my 30th birthday and we brought along my closest friends. It was amazing! There was a great grill to barbeque complete with a spacious balcony to sit and play board games. There was an outdoor fireplace, which we utilized to have S'mores under the stars. The backyard grass was a bit sparse, but the hot tub more than made up for that. The kitchen has absolutely everything you need, including a professional espresso maker! My bed was quite comfortable and the bathroom had an amazing shower. My favorite part about staying there were the little touches, from the seaside color palette of the walls, to the beach cruisers which we utilized to bike to the beach. The only thing to note is that due to the open floor plan, noise carries rather easily throughout the main area of the house. A wonderful place to stay with friends/family!!

My family of 5 adults and 6 grand children had a wonderful week enjoying this house and seeing the sights. The house is well kept, plus having the care taker down the street is very helpful. Lots of space for all of us, and much to do with the boardwalk, and beach within walking distance was perfect---seeing the wildlife was the best. You immediately feel at home staying here.

This is a beautiful house in a great location. There are so many great things about the house, including a great balcony with a nice view back toward the boardwalk, a nice hot tub in the backyard, and plenty of beach gear to use, including bikes and surfboards. Overall it was just a great place to stay to enjoy the area around us and to enjoy time together at the house.

We were beyond blessed by this vacation home and it's ammenities. Bikes provided by the owners, we went for rides in the morning to watch the Santa Cruz surf. We walked to the beach and boardwalk every day. Had wonderful meals every night as we enjoyed the beautiful weather with open doors to the beautiful balcony. Wine and smores on the private front patio, complete with fireplace and party torches. So restful and relaxing. The only thing you will regret is that you didn't book an extra week at this lovely home.

Our family stayed at this amazing vacation home, and had such a great time. This house was like staying at a 5 star resort, I felt like we took a quick vacation to Hawaii. The house was stocked with anything you could want or need including beach cruisers, surf boards, boogie boards, wet suits, beach toys, and so much more. The location was awesome also, 1 block from the water, and 2 blocks from the boardwalk. We had a great time bbq-ing and enjoying the amazing view from the balcony, as well as making s'mores with the kids at the fire pit in the front yard.

I have stayed with my family in many vacation rentals over the years and this house was by far the best we have stayed in. Although, the pictures are amazing, they do not do this house justice. The house is spacious, beautifully decorated, boasts spectacular views, and is equipped with everything you might need for a week at the beach. The house has many entertaining areas inside and out. The backyard was a perfect place to get some sun, enjoy the hot tub and let the kids play. At night, we enjoyed sitting by the firepit on the enclosed patio. The location is terrific, we didn't use our car once during our stay. We were able to walk to the Boardwalk, the beach, the pier and downtown Santa Cruz. Garrett and Patty have spared no detail in making this beach house the best vacation rental.

We truly could not have asked for anything better. The whole experience was amazing...marvelous home, Garrett was great to deal with, his property manager/local expert/pizza connoisseur Patti is as friendly as they come, and even the February weather gave us more than we could have hoped for (we came in from Chicago, so our bar was low... but 60+ degrees in Feb was outstanding). The listing is very accurate, and the home is everything you would want it to be. Steps from the shore, a short walk from surfer havens, and perfectly located for dining on the wharf or running / biking along West Cliff Drive. The home is incredibly comfortable and ideally appointed throughout. I'm sure there are other spectacular beach houses in the area, but Garrett and Patti have set this place apart by considering seemingly every detail, and by being two of the kindest people you could ever deal with. I hope you get to enjoy this place. If you do, please treat it well... we will be back!

What an amazing place to stay! My partner and I actually live in Santa Cruz and wanted our wedding reception to be local... we fell in love with this place the minute we walked inside....it couldn't have been more perfect. The floor plan is ideal for entertaining and everything was super clean and up to date. We were married on 11.11.11 and I can guaranatee there's some good juju in that home! Garrett was easy to work with, and the neighbors were great. I highly recommend this home for any type of getaway. AMAZING! Great price and great amenitites!

We stayed in this beautiful house for 5 days over July 4th. It is well-maintained, close to the beach and to town, and perfect for families. The owners have thought of everything - beach toys, porta-crib, baby gates - but a beautiful home where you can enjoy dinner after the kids go to bed. We had a great time and would highly recommend it to anyone!

A great week in Santa Cruz

This is a great house, in a terrific location with a stellar view of the Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk. It was an excellent base camp for the whole family to go do what made them happy. Surfing was steps away to the stairs for Cowells beach, the Santa Cruz Boardwalk with all of it amenities was an easy walk up the street. Everyone was able to rent bikes and store them in the spacious garage which the owner graciously left for us to access. The amenities on the home were great, it had a terrific fireplace, a very well equipped kitchen, terrific bathrooms, an outdoor hot tub and everything else you could want for your stay in Santa Cruz. The space that the house offers allows you to all be together and yet still have your own private retreats. We had family in from Southern California, Pennsylvania and New Jersey and everyone loved the property. But most important to our stay was the sense the we got from the owner and their local property manager that they actually cared about you, and wanted to make sure that you had a good experience. They had a bottle of wine for us on arrival, as well as everything else that we needed to make our stay comfortable. If you are lucky enough to rent this gem, please do us all a favor and take good care of it because we will certainly be looking to go back again next year.

We rented the Mediterranean Paradise (aptly named) in Santa Cruz for 10 days in December 2010. We expected a beautiful home, but the photos did not do it justice. It is luxurious, very well equipped and seemed new. The layout worked perfectly for our group of 4 adults and 1 small child (with lots of room to spare), with the upstairs providing a safe environment for our toddler, especially since the owner had installed a secure gate at the top of the stairs. From the well functioning and well equipped kitchen, wonderful bathrooms, electronics, washer & dryer, gas grill, hot tub, bicyles, beach equipment, to generous welcoming touches--we had everything we needed to start our vacation immediately and in comfort. The location is wonderful, a short walk to the wharf with its many restaurants, short drive to downtown and shopping, and just across the street to the West Cliff promenade. In addition, the owner put us in touch with a neighbor who was a wonderful source of information. We hope to return.
