Great Vacation!

Couldn't say enough good things about the house itself other than no A/C. Tended to get a bit hot mid-day, but as others mentioned, plenty of box and window fans to help out. We had 4 adults and 4 young children. Suprisingly well equipped beautiful house with everything you could need beside food. Boat rental is a great idea, but with 4 kids under 4 years old, it was better suited for a floating paito with walls. Pool table and dart board was great for when the kids went to bed. Our only negative about this property is it had zero view of the beautiful lake from the deck. I highly recommend to remove some trees, or at least undercut them. Also, some more beach/ sitting areas other than the dock would make this a 5-star for sure. Not much action in Wolverine, but Indian River has everything you'll need. Thanks for a great week!

Great Family Fun Retreat

We rented this cabin 7/15-7/22 and had a wonderful time. Our four adult kids, three spouses, three grand children all joined us for the weekend and then left us time to kick back a few days on our own. The cabin is great, has a well stocked kitchen and nice decor. We had the very hottest weather I have ever experienced in the north country and the trees surrounding the cabin really helped keep it cooler. The cabin does not have air conditioning which I did not even consider as a necessary thing - boy were we glad there were LOTS of fans and a great cool downstairs room to hang out in! We did wish there was some beach area for the kiddies, but alas, only the dock. We rented the pontoon and recommend it! The lake is great for swimming and fishing and we enjoyed cruising around. We also went to Mackinaw Island (40 minutes north) and kayaked the Sturgeon & Pigeon Rivers. The Sturgeon is the best river in lower Michigan and I recommend the Wolverine to South White Road, it even has some rapids. We had tons of fun!

My family and I greatly enjoyed our week on Wildwood Lake. The cabin is beautiful. It’s spacious, clean, and well equipped. There were nine of us the first few days and we never felt like we were in each others space. The kitchen had all the utensils and amenities that you need. The view is spectacular! Because of the trees it feels very secluded and it keeps the house cool. We rented the pontoon for the week which I highly recommend. The lake is rather shallow, 10 - 12 feet at its deepest, but there are plenty of good swim spots and a sand bar. The only reason I didn't rate this home 5 stars is that the area next to the dock wasn't dredged for swimming, however, since we had the boat we just swam off of that. The fishing is great too. The lake is fully stocked I can't tell you how many fish my family caught while I laid around and read. VERY relaxing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are also plenty of things to do in the area, its only 20 - 30 minutes to Petosky and 45 - 60 minutes to Mackinack. Burt Lake State Park is 10 miles away in Indian River and features a great beach, hiking trails, picnic areas, and canoe/raft rental. There is also canoe/raft rental in Wolverine. My kids told me repeatedly that it was the best vacation ever!
