This property was just what we needed...my eldest son had brain surgery at children's hospital in seattle and he recovered here with me, his mom, for five days afterwards. Megan, the owner, is very on the ball and responsive, and I would very highly recommend this house. Gourmet kitchen with your own veggies and spices growing in the back, two washers and dryers, and two kitchens, all three beds are extremely comfortable. Above all there was a warm and cozy feeling in the home which is exactly what we needed. David my son has recovered well and is doing great, in part the recover has been so fast because this home was so homey and relaxing.

I just wanted to say "thanks!" for letting us stay at your lovely home. We absolutely LOVED it! The back deck, back yard & gardens, and the location were perfect. The beds were very comfortable. We went to several restaurants I read in your suggestions: Harvest Vine, St Clouds and The Skillet. They were all fantastic! Thanks again! Sincerely, Theresa

This is definitely the way to travel instead of staying in a hotel. Our host was wonderful. She communicated with us very well before our arrival, welcomed us at the door, showed us around, and had all the bedrooms and beds prepared. The home has a very personal touch to it which makes you feel comfortable and welcome. Our host has a garden in the back and let us help ourselves to anything growing in it. The location is near the university right in downtown Seattle. Very close to anything you want to do if you are visiting. My family and I highly recommend.

We had a group of 5 stay at this home for a week and we found it to be really comfortable. There was a ton of space for everyone to get alone time while still having enough room for everyone to hang out together in the common area. There are great restaurants and bars within a mile, so we were able to walk to dinner many nights, but the car was an excellent bonus feature for when we were going a bit further. Overall, comfortable house in a good location.

This home is a perfect place for several couples (or a bunch of singles) to get away. It's a relaxing house with your very own vegetable garden and comfy front porch hammock. The kitchen is well stocked and the neighborhood is quiet. We loved our experience there!

Hi Megan - Sorry I didn't get to meet you, but I feel your presence everywhere in this home. I can feel your thoughtfulness and welcoming and trust. We had a wonderful time! It met and exceeded our expectations. I loved the flowers and veggies. We utilized every space here - outside front and back - up and downstairs. Great job Megan! Know you have been a part of creating a beautiful memory for many people. Sherman was great. Handles well and ate of fuel sparingly. Love and appreciate all your touches, and the tips and the travel info. We had a great time! Also enjoyed being able to catch the bus right by the house for a quick trip downtown! Until next time.... many thanks. - Pat

I loved this home so much. It had so much character and charm. We were in town for my daughter's Navy commissioning and graduation from UW and this house was so perfect for our stay. We had my 88 year old father with us and the arrangement on the main level was perfect to accommodate him. We had several other family members join us for a few nights as well and we were able to sit around the dining table and living room and visit just like we would if we were home. I half expected the other family members who couldn't join us for this trip were going to walk in at any minute. My sister and I love gardening and really enjoyed walking around the yard enjoying the beauty of the plants. I was sad to leave, not only because I had to leave my beautiful daughter behind, but also because I had to leave this beautiful home behind as well. Would highly recommend this property. This was one of the most amazing trips we have ever taken. Megan was always prompt to responding to my questions. Although most people think Pike's is touristy, I still love it. A trip to West Seattle to Elliot Bay Brewery is a must for their Ahi taco's! and the cute shops. The proximity to the UW is perfect and a quick shot over the the campus. As far as the listing photos being accurate; they hardly do justice to the beauty, charm and character of the home.

We had three generations of family together and the house suited us all perfectly. The two levels and the setup were perfect. When I wanted a little break, I could go to my downstairs bedroom and close the door. The rest of the household could carry on and enjoy themselves without disturbing me at all. Having a car there to use if we needed it was an advantage, however, we opted to utilize the bus for most of our stay. The bus stop was just around the corner. It was quick and easy (*fun*) for the children and we didn't have to worry about parking. There was a coffee shop within walking distance as well as a great little park for the kids. Food choices were great in our area. We had Ezell's fried chicken (the okra is a must!) We also had Pizza at All Purpose Pizza. The food was terrific and the children got to roll out crust with mini rollers. We cooked many meals and felt right at home.

This was one of the only large houses we found in Seattle that could fit our large family from the East coast coming out to Seattle for our brother's wedding. It was so perfectly suited for sleeping lots of people and having enough space to have alone time or convene and visit together comfortably. We were all impressed with the amenities included; everything was fully stocked and the backyard was newly landscaped. It made it easy to settle in for a long weekend and have it feel like home away from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would gladly do it again. Highly recommended!

Megan, Staying at your home "truly" made our trip! We all felt so comfortable here. Seattle has been wonderful and the was house was amazing! The Uno games around the table every evening helped us all wind down and remember what these trips are really about. For us that would be staying connected to one another through love, tears and laughter. We were able to relax here after busy days sight seeing because of the inviting energy the house provided. Also, thanks to you we has amazing meals every night of the week! Your suggestions were all home-runs in our book - Quinns was the group favorite! We will definitely book here every time we come to town! Be Blessed, Jason

My family and I stayed at Truly Central for ten weeks while I was on a Sabbatical visit to the University of Washington. The location was great for my commute to the University, access to downtown, and proximity to playgrounds and the Medgar Evers community center (which has a great pool that we frequently visited since it was just around the block). We travelled with two dogs so having the yard was indispensable. I very much enjoyed walking the dogs through the neighborhood every morning (and recommend a stop at Katy's coffee house). The house was cozy and welcoming, and we very much enjoyed it. The proximity to Trader Joe's was a real plus. Because our son was only nine months old at the time we could not sample the night life, though there was clearly plenty of it, especially around Seattle University. However, on Sundays we did enjoy a visit to the Montlake Ale house where we could sip a beer and have decent food while our son played in the play pit. On weekends we did like walking downtown from the guest house as a family. The neighborhood is safe, and we clearly felt comfortable walking around. In particular my wife felt at ease taking our infant son out to the local play ground at the Medgar Evers community center on 23rd. We recommend a stay at Truly Central for families with children of any age.

We stayed at the Capitol Hill home for a week, and it was perfect for our family. It was large enough to spread out and have our own space, but nice to stay together and visit during the evenings when we were at the house. The owner was so helpful and eager to share information of the home, neighborhood, and Seattle. The rooms were much larger than we expected and the porch, deck and back yard were great to enjoy in the refreshing weather. The house was a little farther away from the downtown activities than we expected, but the car, cabs and buses made it easy to go where ever we wanted to visit. It was a really nice experience, which our family would recommend to others.

This Capitol house was a joy to come home to everyday. Our number of guests fluctuated daily (2-10 people) and we never felt cramped or in each others way. Lots of nice areas in the house to gather and have fun. We were close to downtown for those in our group who wanted to sight see and we had easy access to the freeway for our further destinations. The house was spotless, decorated beautiful with comfortable beds and plenty of linens. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and dishes. The gardens were beautiful, with herbs to use in our meals. Above all Megan was a great host and landlord, making sure we knew where the grocery stores and great restaurants were. She ALWAYS replied to my email questions promptly and with respect. It was a pleasure to do business with Megan and use her lovely home. I would recommend this home for anyone need in a home away from home. Teri, Auburn CA

My friends and I just stayed at Truly Central last week while we attended a convention in Seattle. Truly Central, immaculate and accurately described in the listing, truly met our needs. In our group was a family of 3 who took the downstairs as we three ladies stayed upstairs. It was a perfect set up. Most of the time all of us were upstairs where there was plenty of room to chat, eat, and enjoy each others' company. The two cooks among us appreciated the well stocked kitchen and space to move about, but the great thing is that we saved a ton of money eating breakfast and several dinners, including a barbecue for family and friends who lived in the area. Munching on cheese and crackers and sipping our glasses of wine on the small patio was divine as we soaked in the cool evening, so different from the 100+ degrees back home in Central California! Sherman was a very big bonus as well as another money saver. We bought City Passes so everything except the Woodland Park Zoo was within a few miles. Truly Central is in a residential area but with Sherman, it was no problem to get around. Megan met us as we arrived and was very cordial and helpful. She even brought a small dvd player for those of us who needed a tv fix. There were several dvds to choose from and we brought some of our own to watch. With our laptop, we were able to access the news and tv shows so we managed quite well. I had signed up for Groupon coupons and found a great deal for the fast ferry, Victoria Clipper. Aside from taking a plane to Victoria, it was the fastest way to get there, in about 3 hours, and we spent a lovely day shopping and wandering about(skipped the Empress High Tea at $58 a person). Victoria Clipper offered a 3 1/2 hour tour to Buchart Gardens (bus and entrance fee of $58, much less expensive than other tours and left soon after we docked). After each day jam-packed with sightseeing and exploring, we knew we could come back to the welcoming arms of Truly Central to rest, relax, recharge our batteries, and be ready for another exciting day. Thank you, Megan, for making our trip to Seattle a very memorable and peaceful one.

it was our first time to seattle for a wedding & reunion with friends from all over the world. this was the PERFECT house for us! it was big enough for our group of 9 and 2 babies and yet cozy and homey. megan was more than accommodating and helpful throughout the entire process. the house is just walking distance away from the bus and minutes from downtown! ALL of us recommend the sichuan restaurant that megan recommends... our group of friends lived in the sichuan province of china for a couple months and this restaurant was the closest thing to its food since we've been back in america! it was DELICIOUS! we also used the car and my husband LOVED driving it around town! such a HUGE plus with an already great deal. if you pick this house you will not be sorry.

Megan I was so pleased with your house. It accommodated my whole family. (all 10 of us) We came to surprise my uncle for his 50th birthday and it couldn't have been more perfect that we were 1.5 miles from his house. I thought we would have gone through tv withdrawl especially with kids, however we family bonded with games and conversations we didnt even miss it! Your house is cute and very welcoming. Even though it rained for the 5 days we were there we still managed to visit the Pike Market and enjoy a ferry ride. When we come back to Seattle I am planning on looking for availablilty for this house we loved it! You are truly a special person to open your house to many people, and I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Megan, Your house is wonderful! It was a great space for 3 adults, and 3 boys, (ages 9,7, 5). We could easily get everywhere we wanted and it was nice to cook in a kitchen that had what we needed. The boys loved your hammock and the games in the house. Our 5 year old even created his own secret hideaway behind the red curtains in the front bedroom. Since Vio's Cafe wasn't open on Monday, we took the kids to Coastal Kitchen, which is another good choice for families Fondly, Jen, Burck, Zach, Quinn, Sawyer, and "Auntie Karen"

My family and I rented Truly Central this Thanksgiving for our family get-together. It was the perfect spot for my sister and I (who live in Seattle) to entertain our California family. We were a little surprised buy the snowstorm, but found the house so warm, comfortable and full of games that we didn't even get bummed that we could not go do some of the things we had planned. I expected to have to bring lots of kitchenware over to cook the meal but to my surprise Megan had almost everything I needed. The house is absolutely charming and we will be back in the summer months to take advantage of the deck and yard. Megan was great to deal with and flexible to work with us when some of our travel plans changed. Thanks a ton!! :)

Dear Megan - It was nice to meet you on our arrival! This rental is charming! It feels like home and like we are, for a moment, in time, locals. We went to Saint Clouds last night at your suggestion. The food was great and the music was OFF the charts good. What a way to start a vacation! Tuesday we spent an absolutely beautiful day on Vashon Island, also at your suggestion. Since you seemed to be batting 1000 we went along with your recommendation of eating at The Harvest Vine. It was so good, we could swoon. We're definitely going back there. We topped off the trip with some standard tourist destinations. Pike Market, and Seattle's Underground tour - cool but super touristy. We'll skip next time and do the European Markets instead. We LOVED the Experience Music Project. This is a must see for music lovers. Next time we'll spend an afternoon there. Since your suggestions were spot on we decided to go to another restaurant you think highly of: The Tamarind Tree. It was yet another delightful culinary experience, and the place had great ambiance. The Tamarantini was delicious! Sadly, we had to cut our time short. My beautiful, sweet father-in-law passed away somewhat suddenly. I will always associate this trip with that profound emotional experience. I can't wait to return! Megan, you made this trip so beautiful! You are are true healer. WIth love, peace and joy - Rebecca and Jerry.

Staying at Truly Central was like being in a vacation version of my own home, with organic gardens, loads of books, and herbs everywhere for cooking. The back deck was totally surrounded by bamboo, and by the boughs of an enormous tree so it felt like we were in a beautifully secluded treehouse. We cooked on the Weber Grill every night and bought fresh fish from the Farmer's Market a few blocks away. My children, practically grown ups now, had their own space, beds and bath downstairs, and even invited us down for dinner one night. Being a family of foodies, having two kitchens was a wonderful luxury. The house looked small on the outside but that was deceptive. It goes on and on. Beds - incredibly comfy, great art, natural fabrics, decadent hammock, and above all, just a great, serene feeling from the moment we stepped inside. There were four of us but we had room for more. Also - lots of great personal restaurant recommendations that turned out fantastic, and lists of fun things to do. I felt like someone had really tried to plan for all my needs. Lots of pillows, comforters and toilet paper!!
