You think, cabin, Okay I need to get some of the essentials. Not at Cabins on the Bluff. Wonderful amenities in the kitchen, bath....pizza stone, baking and frying equipment, fire pit for roasting marshmallows and gas grill. We left items behind for the next adventurers. So, go first to the cabin and see what is there, then go to the grocery store. Eventually there are plans for a washer and dryer in two of the cabins for long stay guests. The view is beyond amazing. Cook Inlet--two volcanoes. Chuck and Julie were wonderful hosts. The cabins are in a great spot to explore All of the Kenai pennisula. Will we recommend to others, YES. We did not want to leave and we have already given out cards to those we met at meals outside the cabin and on tours. One of the most amazing things---getting up at 4:45 am and looking outside and seeing an amazing rainbow across Mount Illiamna. We are planning an extended stay in the next few years. Hooray for Home Away and the commercials Superbowl Day.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

I am reading the reviews and I cannot even think of what to add as far as positive information. We had such a nice time. A dream location. Breathtaking views of the volcanoes, fresh sea air, super clean and equipped BETTER than home! Top of the line on everything as far as the cabin and nothing to want for. Having a fire pit and a bbq and our own chairs/nice porch made it really comfy and want us to stay forever. Not one detail was spared in building these cabins. A wonderful home away from home with the added bonus of location. We had been to this area before and we will refer EVERYONE to these cabins from this day forward. Just enough balance between privacy and great service. Excellent internet for people who are students or working /telecommuting.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our stay at Cabins on the Bluff was nothing short of wonderful! Making the reservation and checking-in were simple. The cabin was spotless and well-stocked with everything we needed for our four-day stay. The view of the Cook Inlet and volcanoes was second to none, absolutely spectacular. Chuck and Julie were the best hosts ever and made our stay even more special by visiting with us and sharing stories about the area. We were able to prepare meals just as if we were at home which was great after a long week of eating on the road. Each cabin has its own barbeque pit and fire ring, both ready to use on arrival. Propane is supplied for the BBQ and the fire ring is loaded with wood and ready to burn. I know I mentioned earlier that the cabin was spotless, but it's worth mentioning again - spotless with no odors at all! If you are considering a stay at the Cabins on the Bluff, stop reading and make the reservation, you won't be sorry!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

My husband and I stayed in one cabin while our friends stayed in the neighboring cabin. We enjoyed ourselves to the fullest extent. Our mini-vacation was a breath of fresh air we so desperately needed after being cooped up all winter long. The cabins were incredibly beautiful, very well appointed, and extremely comfortable. Chuck and Julie have done an excellent job building, decorating, and maintaining these cabins. Extremely friendly and very eager to please the guests! It really is just like a home away from home! We intend to stay many more times in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

While spending time in Alaska we "luckily" stumbled upon Cabins on the Bluff in Clam Gulch, Alaska in the Kenai Peninsula area. The cabins are immaculate with every amenity and detail thought of to make your stay comfortable. Full kitchen, wall heaters and gas fireplace to keep the cabin cozy and warm. The bed was very comfortable and they even had down pillows. The covered porch on the cabin was wonderful to sit and enjoy the views or just stay inside with ample windows to let in the light and scenery. The owners were so welcoming and hospitable. We loved every moment and plan to visit again. You won't be disappointed!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

On our first trip to Alaska we were fortunate to pick one of these cabins for a weeks' stay. (#1) Everything, and I mean everything, is provided - all kitchen ware, small appliances, seasonings, etc. as well as all the bathroom essentials. The cabin was immaculate, beautifully decorated and well furnished. Having a washer/dryer in the unit was phenomenal - especially if you are going to be doing any fishing or clamming. The (gas) fireplace was the over-the-top touch for those chilly mornings and the sunset each day over the mountains and river (or should I say at late night) was absolutely riveting. Chuck is the best host anyone could ever hope to have, going above and beyond with information (and equipment) to make our vacation spectacular. Don't know if we will ever get back there, but if we do, we definitely won't miss a stay in Clam Gulch!Recommended for: Families with young children, people with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

Don't waste your time looking for any other place to stay this is the best! My wife, 2 year old daughter, and I stayed in the cabins from 06/16-06/19/2012. Chuck and Julie have thought of everything you want in a getaway stay. The cabins have a rustic feel and every amenity you need including washer and dryer, firepit, grill, coffeepot, dishes, internet, satellite tv, and even a Pack N Play for my daughter. The views are spectacular of Cook Inlet, mountains/ volcanoes, and of course the wildlife. We will certainly return and thank again for having us Chuck and Julie!! Cabins on the Bluff will not disappoint and book your stay here soon this place is a gem!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

I was looking for a getaway after the tourist season in remote Alaska, and I found it at Cabins on The Bluff. This property is nothing short of incredible. Chuck, the owner, spares no effort to make your stay here a peaceful, restful, relaxing, and very comfortable one indeed. The cabins are so luxurious and imaculate yet still very rustic. Chuck provides all the essentials to make his cabins a worry free accomodation.for his guests. I cooked out fresh fish every night. I enjoyed a camp fire every night. I slept peacfully every night. The view of the Cook Inlet on a clear day is exceptional and breathtaking. He provides wireless internet and also satellite TV on two flat screens. However I hardly used them due to wanting to enjoy the serenity and peacefulness of this wonderful cabin. The pictures advertised are accurate. The location of this property is a perfect centralized location to Homer, Soldotna and even a day trip to Seward. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation for a truly memorable vacation here. I am employed in the airline industry and have been to many destinations. There are not a lot of places I would visit twice due to the many different destinations I can travel to. I will definitely be back to visit Cabins on The Bluff in the future!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

When you think cabin you can't even begin to imagine this cabin. This place was far better than our first house we bought when we got married 37 years ago. I really can't think of a thing I would change we planned on staying 7 days and ended up staying 9. As the other reviews said if you want it, it's there including a fire ring and gas grill just outside the door, and don't forget outside the door is spectacular views and quiet, lots of quiet. The cabin is an easy drive to Homer, yes we caught halibut, Keni and Soldotna and some of the best fishing rivers in Alaska. Don't let this one pass you by, book soon.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+.
