Our stay at Cabins on the Bluff was nothing short of wonderful! Making the reservation and checking-in were simple. The cabin was spotless and well-stocked with everything we needed for our four-day stay. The view of the Cook Inlet and volcanoes was second to none, absolutely spectacular. Chuck and Julie were the best hosts ever and made our stay even more special by visiting with us and sharing stories about the area. We were able to prepare meals just as if we were at home which was great after a long week of eating on the road. Each cabin has its own barbeque pit and fire ring, both ready to use on arrival. Propane is supplied for the BBQ and the fire ring is loaded with wood and ready to burn. I know I mentioned earlier that the cabin was spotless, but it's worth mentioning again - spotless with no odors at all! If you are considering a stay at the Cabins on the Bluff, stop reading and make the reservation, you won't be sorry!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed in one cabin while our friends stayed in the neighboring cabin. We enjoyed ourselves to the fullest extent. Our mini-vacation was a breath of fresh air we so desperately needed after being cooped up all winter long. The cabins were incredibly beautiful, very well appointed, and extremely comfortable. Chuck and Julie have done an excellent job building, decorating, and maintaining these cabins. Extremely friendly and very eager to please the guests! It really is just like a home away from home! We intend to stay many more times in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

While spending time in Alaska we "luckily" stumbled upon Cabins on the Bluff in Clam Gulch, Alaska in the Kenai Peninsula area. The cabins are immaculate with every amenity and detail thought of to make your stay comfortable. Full kitchen, wall heaters and gas fireplace to keep the cabin cozy and warm. The bed was very comfortable and they even had down pillows. The covered porch on the cabin was wonderful to sit and enjoy the views or just stay inside with ample windows to let in the light and scenery. The owners were so welcoming and hospitable. We loved every moment and plan to visit again. You won't be disappointed!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

On our first trip to Alaska we were fortunate to pick one of these cabins for a weeks' stay. (#1) Everything, and I mean everything, is provided - all kitchen ware, small appliances, seasonings, etc. as well as all the bathroom essentials. The cabin was immaculate, beautifully decorated and well furnished. Having a washer/dryer in the unit was phenomenal - especially if you are going to be doing any fishing or clamming. The (gas) fireplace was the over-the-top touch for those chilly mornings and the sunset each day over the mountains and river (or should I say at late night) was absolutely riveting. Chuck is the best host anyone could ever hope to have, going above and beyond with information (and equipment) to make our vacation spectacular. Don't know if we will ever get back there, but if we do, we definitely won't miss a stay in Clam Gulch!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Don't waste your time looking for any other place to stay this is the best! My wife, 2 year old daughter, and I stayed in the cabins from 06/16-06/19/2012. Chuck and Julie have thought of everything you want in a getaway stay. The cabins have a rustic feel and every amenity you need including washer and dryer, firepit, grill, coffeepot, dishes, internet, satellite tv, and even a Pack N Play for my daughter. The views are spectacular of Cook Inlet, mountains/ volcanoes, and of course the wildlife. We will certainly return and thank again for having us Chuck and Julie!! Cabins on the Bluff will not disappoint and book your stay here soon this place is a gem!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I was looking for a getaway after the tourist season in remote Alaska, and I found it at Cabins on The Bluff. This property is nothing short of incredible. Chuck, the owner, spares no effort to make your stay here a peaceful, restful, relaxing, and very comfortable one indeed. The cabins are so luxurious and imaculate yet still very rustic. Chuck provides all the essentials to make his cabins a worry free accomodation.for his guests. I cooked out fresh fish every night. I enjoyed a camp fire every night. I slept peacfully every night. The view of the Cook Inlet on a clear day is exceptional and breathtaking. He provides wireless internet and also satellite TV on two flat screens. However I hardly used them due to wanting to enjoy the serenity and peacefulness of this wonderful cabin. The pictures advertised are accurate. The location of this property is a perfect centralized location to Homer, Soldotna and even a day trip to Seward. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation for a truly memorable vacation here. I am employed in the airline industry and have been to many destinations. There are not a lot of places I would visit twice due to the many different destinations I can travel to. I will definitely be back to visit Cabins on The Bluff in the future!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

When you think cabin you can't even begin to imagine this cabin. This place was far better than our first house we bought when we got married 37 years ago. I really can't think of a thing I would change we planned on staying 7 days and ended up staying 9. As the other reviews said if you want it, it's there including a fire ring and gas grill just outside the door, and don't forget outside the door is spectacular views and quiet, lots of quiet. The cabin is an easy drive to Homer, yes we caught halibut, Keni and Soldotna and some of the best fishing rivers in Alaska. Don't let this one pass you by, book soon.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers.

These hosts have thought of everything, all the comforts of home. The cabins are beautifuly made, well decorated and have a fabulous view. It was easy to make day trips to Homer and Seward as well as enjoy looking around the imediate area. If we are ever able to go back to Alaska we will stay in these cabins. We even made new friends from the other cabins. Thank you to our host.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed at Cabins on the Gulch in the Lupine cabin August 9-11,2011 and it was truly a highlight of our trip to Alaska. The peace and tranquility of the place will stay with us always along with the breathtaking views. The amenities in the cabins leave nothing to chance and we were thrilled with the accommodations and attention to detail. Chuck and Julie are outstanding hosts. We made a special request of them to allow us to plant a tree in memory of our nephew who we tragically lost just 4 days before our trip. Not only were we able to do this but they helped select the site, dig the hole and erect the cage to discourage the neighborhood moose. We hope to return someday for a longer stay and will encourage friends and family to do the same. Meanwhile we will cherish the memory of our time there always.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I generally rely on the internet to research where our family will stay while vacationing. Most of the time this method is reliable but we have been disappointed by places even after researching as best I could. I have to say that Cabins on the Bluff is one of the few places that absolutely EXCEEDED our expectations, and that, especially when it comes to my husband, is not easily done! From the moment we walked up and took in the incredible view overlooking Cook Inlet to opening the door and discovering that not a detail was missed anywhere in the cabin. It was immaculate, had all the amenities you could imagine, and some of the most fabulous sunsets you will ever see. Chuck, Julie and Maya (the husky!) were wonderful hosts -- very attentive to taking care of the property and their guests. Our only regret is that we were unable to stay longer -- for the time frame we had, Chuck only had 3 nights available -- we definitely plan to go back to enjoy a longer stay. While there, our family of four (two teens) headed south one day to Homer and took the ferry to Halibut Cove and then we headed north another day to take a float plane fishing trip out of Nikiski -- the location is great for any number of day trips OR you can just stick around there and relax and enjoy the view, which we were also able to do. It's awesome -- don't hesitate for a minute to stay at Cabins on the Bluff!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My 3 sons & I thoroughly enjoyed the Wild Iris cabin during our stay the nights of July 10-11, 2011. The cabin was reasonably priced, clean, & quiet. Construction was high quality, and the accommodations & decorations were very nice. The hide-a-bed sofa was comfortable for our 17 & 22 year olds to share, with no complaints. The shower, washer/dryer, & gas grill were especially nice. Chuck is very thorough in his attention to details - - one example: the firepit is pre-arranged with firewood/kindling, and if you use it one night, it is reloaded the next day. We took a halibut charter out of Ninilchik (about 20 minutes away); ... I was initially concerned with the cost, but it turned out to be priceless. Brought home 113 pounds of halibut filets - - but more importantly, the kids are still smiling. We will be repeat customers if we are privileged to have another wonderful Alaska adventure in the future. Thanks for sharing this beautiful property.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Not enough could be said for this property. We are a family of four traveling in Alaska for two weeks. We reserved Cabin's on the Bluff for our last week, having just finished touring Anchorage, Girdwood, and Seward. It was a perfect place to unwind and relax. The location was great, close enough to all the spots you would want to visit on the Kenai Peninsula - Homer, Kenai, Soldaltna, Ninilchik etc. The cabins are beautiful - decorated impeccably, with every convenience for a very comfortable stay - washer dryers, dish washer, tvs, DVD, all possible kitchen gadgets, heat, huge fridge, comfy blankets and sheets. The view was spectacular with eagles flying right by. The hosts also provided a grill for every cabin and a fire ring outside which was a perfect way to end the day. I would recommend this to anyone and would go back in a heart beat!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

You think, cabin, Okay I need to get some of the essentials. Not at Cabins on the Bluff. Wonderful amenities in the kitchen, bath....pizza stone, baking and frying equipment, fire pit for roasting marshmallows and gas grill. We left items behind for the next adventurers. So, go first to the cabin and see what is there, then go to the grocery store. Eventually there are plans for a washer and dryer in two of the cabins for long stay guests. The view is beyond amazing. Cook Inlet--two volcanoes. Chuck and Julie were wonderful hosts. The cabins are in a great spot to explore All of the Kenai pennisula. Will we recommend to others, YES. We did not want to leave and we have already given out cards to those we met at meals outside the cabin and on tours. One of the most amazing things---getting up at 4:45 am and looking outside and seeing an amazing rainbow across Mount Illiamna. We are planning an extended stay in the next few years. Hooray for Home Away and the commercials Superbowl Day.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at the Cabins on the Bluff for two nights over Independence Day weekend 2010. In all honesty we did not know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised at what we found upon arrival. Two nights were not enough to take in all that the Cabins on the Bluff had to offer. The cabins themselves are absolutely adorable. Everything is tastefully appointed and well thought out. It is obvious that a tremendous amount of time and effort was put into decorating and stocking the cabins. And then there are the views.... From your front porch you can watch eagles soar over the cliff, see marine life in the Cook Inlet below, or watch the glistening snow-capped mountains across the water. It is the true definition of breath-taking. Chuck and Julie have done an amazing job with their cabins, and I hope their future guests will appreciate it is much as we did. We will be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
