We spent one of the nicest, most relaxing weeks ever in this wonderful home. Every time we needed something, we looked, and it was there. It's comfortable and spacious, but with small conversation or reading areas set away from everything else. Jim is one of the most pleasant people ever and was a pleasure to work with on our arrangements. The home is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood and is easily within walking distance of several of the best restaurants. All-in-all, a great experience that we look forward to repeating. If you're thinking of renting a home in Maggie Valley, you can't go wrong with this one.

This was one of the most magnificent homes we have stayed in. The pictures do not do it justice. It was clean and beautiful. It was close to skiing and all activities. We had the time of our lives and would definitely go again. The owner was even quick to return our deposit. Stay here and you wouldn’t ever want to leave.

My family (6 adults and one dog!) very much enjoyed our stay in Maggie Valley over the Christmas holiday. The floor plan was perfect for us - everyone had their own private bedroom and the den and basement allowed extra room to spread out when we wanted to do different activities. With three and a half bathrooms, we also did not have to wait on each other for bathroom availability. We loved having a fire each day and the house had a a generous supply of firewood. The house was nicely decorated and the bathrooms and kitchen were up-to-date with everything in working order. The location was great - we could walk to some restaurants and also enjoyed driving into downtown Waynesville (15 minutes) for shopping and dinner. The Biltmore House was an easy 35 minute drive and we also drove 10 minutes to Lake Junaluska, which has a nice 2.5 mile walking trail around the lake. We also appreciated the jigsaw puzzles - completed one of the 500 piece while we were there! Jim, the owner, was very pleasant and easy to work with. We would love to come back during the warmer weather and further enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery,

We spent the Thanksgiving holidays in this beautiful rental, and were very pleased. The home was beautiful, very clean and very well stocked. I had previously called the owner to inquire whether or not there was a crock pot in the home, and he said yes and he even took the time to put it out on the cabinet for us to see when we arrived. Very thoughtful of him! He also emailed us after we arrived to make sure everything was okay with the home, and of course it was. There was plenty of firewood available and the home has plenty of room. The wi-fi worked great as well. We were very pleased with our stay and would probably stay again! The owner was very helpful and personable when i first spoke with him and each time thereafter as well, he refunded my security deposit the same day we checked out. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in this home, you won't be disappointed!

Yes...home! This house does not feel like a rental, but home away from home. From the moment you walk in the front door you get the feeling of welcome home! Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us. The location is perfect also. It's centered in the middle of town right off the main road, and the Blue Ridge Parkway isn't far at all. It was great to be back in the mountains. On the way home we were discussing the next visit to the area and would definitely stay at this home again. We were fortunate to even see 10 Elk by the Oconaluftee Visitor Center at the Cherokee entrance to the Parkway. We will be back!

2nd time staying in this beautiful home. My 3rd trip for 2013 is already being planned! This house is exactly as described AND MORE!!! For couples or families or large groups, this house is perfect!!! Clean, Clean, Clean, Modern! For my Once-A-Year-Vacation, I need to get away from my everyday life, and I need to do it in comfort, with pampering, and ease, and style too. This home does just that & then some!! My Harley (morotcycle) had a great time too, no problem riding up to the house & quite comfortable in the garage at night. Loction is perfect, small town charm is right down the street. If you want to eat out there are pleanty of of really good restaurants, within walking distance! And if you have the need for Walmart, no worries it's just outside of Maggie.

My husband and I spent two GREAT weeks at this lovely home in a quiet neighborhood of nice homes. The house is definitely set up for a large group with a big comfy common area that opens onto a large, shady deck with a very nice gas grill. The three upstairs bedrooms are nicely equipped with large closets, drawer space, and seating. Two of the bedrooms open onto the deck. There are several areas where a smaller group or individual may go for a little "time out". The location is ideal. Situated close to the main drag, there are several dining options within walking distance, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is only 3 or 4 miles away. There is a full "apartment" downstairs. Basically, a complete seperate living area, very nicely (and recently) rennovated. If you are on a motorcycle, the access is a breeze and there is a garage and access to a hose and water. Great rides to be had all around, stunning mountain views through out the area. Waynesville is only about 7 miles of easy driving away, and there you will find everything you may need. Two real bonuses, a house full of books for those who read while on vacation, and a full rack of firewood on the covered front porch!! I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for comfort, convenient location, and tasteful surroundings. The owner was very helpful and the home exceeded our expectations.

My husband and I spent two relaxing weeks in this very lovely home. The house is definitely set up for a large group with a common area to gather and several other spots to relax and have quiet time by yourself or in a smaller group. The deck is really nice. Very shady and cool, even on warm, sunny days. There are two bedrooms that are lucky enough to have access to the deck, in addition to the main access. The lower level is set up like a sperate unit which could be very nice for family members who may not like as much "family time", although there are only twin beds down, so it isn't totally couple-friendly. The downstairs bath is really super-nice, with ceramic tile and a walk in shower, it looks brand new. The kitchen was more than adequate, with tons of plates, coffee cups, and glassware. Wine drinkers will like the built in wine rack for your reds, with plenty of wine glasses. The one thing I would highly recommend if you like to read is do not arrive with any books from home. There are books everywhere, particularly of the crime genre. What a bonus!!!! I could go on, but you can tell we really enjoyed our stay. There is a nice little loop to walk right outside the front door. Go left on the main street to Silver Leaf Circle, hang a right and you will have a nice walk, maybe a 1/4 mile, right back to the front door. There is a really lovely old graveyard on this walk, and if you read the book in the house about the first families in Maggie, you will recognize some names. We slept soundly at night listening to the sound of the creek down below. There are no really good view of the mountains, but we never felt deprived, because the views are all around you. This home a great jumping off point for the Blue Ridge Parkway, maybe 3 or 4 miles away.. If you ride a motorcycle, the whole way there is paved, there is a garage, and there is access to a water hose. Also, although we didn't use it, there is a ton of wood there for the fireplace. Thanks, Jim. We will recommend your place to our family and friends!

Owner response: While wooded lots always challenge a view, the view is great once the leaves fall off!

This house is great, well kept and huge & beautifully decorated Let me try to describe  the layout for you.   Upon entering the home and walking through the foyer, there is a little cove to your left where there are two bedrooms (queen bed in one and a queen bed in the other)  and a full bath.  There is a eat in kitchen (table for four) to your right and a large open kitchen.  The appliances are up to date and nice.  The kitchen has two coffee pots and lots of pots, pans, dishes & utensils.  There is a two way  stone fireplace that is seen from the kitchen & living room & dining room.  Straight ahead from the foyer is a large living room with a couch & chair and dining room (table sits 6).  On thru the living room is a huge deck with patio furniture & a nice grill.  The deck has a gate which is great if you have small kids or a dog.  If u r on the deck, and come back in thru the living room, you can walk around the stone fireplace to the left or right to get back to the kitchen.   In the kitchen there is a door to the basement on your left.  If u keep walking thru the kitchen there is another cove with a huge master bedroom (TV in here) to your left w a full bath, straight thru the kitchen is a half bathroom that includes a washer/dryer closet.  To the right thru the kitchen is a big sunken den w a full sofa, desk, TV & two recliners. Now for the basement.  Straight ahead at the bottom of the steps is a bar.  If you turn right at the bottom of the steps there is a big open area with two twin beds and a full bath.  To the left of the stairs is a eating area w a table for four, a small kitchenette, a living area with a TV,  love seat and chairs.  There is also an electric organ in this area.  Thru the living area there is a garage with a nice weight set. There is cable TV and wireless.  The bathrooms are updated and really nice.  The furniture is nice and comfortable.  It is beautifully decorated. My family of five with our little dog had PLENTY of space.   We all loved, loved, loved this place & hope to come back!!! If horseback riding is on your agenda, I recommend End of the Trail Stables, Cherokee, NC.  I went there scared to death of horses and had a nice ride as did my husband & kids.  My kids (17, 13 &10) had never been on a horse before and did great.  The horses were tame & gentle.  Highly recommended for those who want to try horseback riding.  Beautiful scenery at the top of the mountain.

My family and I couldn't have been more happy with this beautiful home. The pictures definitely do not capture the beauty of this home. We had more than enough space. We had 4 adults and 3 children and 3 small dogs with us and my Mom and Step Dad would even come over to visit us from their place in Maggie Valley and we still had plenty of room so that no one ever felt cramped. Mr. Jim and his wife couldn't be more friendly!! He always stayed in contact with me when I would email him about questions and he was so very helpful and a pleasure to work with. The best rental experience I've ever had. I would stay there again anytime!!

My husband and I stayed for a week at this lovely home, along with my parents. We brought our dog and had a wonderful time! The owner was incredibly easy to work with, and he provided lots of information about the area. The house is definitely bigger than what the pictures show - the master bedroom is huge and very comfortable. There are two "dens" with televisions, so everyone can watch what they want at night. The deck is large and has a dining area, so we ate outside at every meal. The location is convenient and there is an awesome pet-friendly restaurant (Hurley's Creekside) nearby that we walked to almost every day. The neighborhood was friendly and we were able to go on long walks after dinner. Everyone who lives nearby was gracious and quiet, and had nothing but positive things to say about the owner of this house. One more plus is that the nearby Maggie Valley Country Club gave us a deal on using their facilities. When I told them where I was staying, they said they would arrange for us to be "club members" for the week and that gave us use of the outdoor pool, tennis, and fitness facilities. It was an awesome addition to our stay. Thanks for a great vacation Jim!

This is one of the nicest houses I have ever rented. And I have rented several houses over time. The quality of everything and the attention to detail is something that is very rare in a rental house. The detailed attention to comfort even went to the smallest detail of top quality tissues, toilet paper, and soap. Not the usual cheap stuff you usually find. This house felt like home. It is hugh with lots of space for everyone. And so, so, so nice and beautifully decorated. Beds slept great, bathrooms were modern and very nice as well. And the beautiful kitchen had every modern convinence you could ever want or need. This house is just perfect. And the owner was such a pleasure to deal with and made everything so easy. We will be coming back here again. Thanks for the wonderful stay.

I was very happy with my rental experience. Jim, the renter, is a nice guy who was very easy to work with. Our group was there to ski but the warm winter was melting the slopes earlier than expected. Jim was understanding of this and gave me a lot of leeway when the reservation confirmation time rolled around. The house was much larger than expected, and all the rooms were spacious. You get a lot for your money with this house. Everything was clean and tidy. Jim supplied way more free firewood than we could even put a dent in. It's already there and stacked on the front porch. The house is also in a great location. It was easy to find and it's close to the ski slopes, tube hill, and many restaraunts. I will definitly be contacting Jim again for next years ski trip.

This was the perfect house for our family getaway. There are many things that make this a true gem. First of all, it is obvious from the moment you enter that Jim and Lori take pride in maintaining this property. It has modern appliances, beautiful decor, nice and ample linens and was CLEAN!. Our family especially loved the spaciousness and floorplan of the house. The brother-in-law could enjoy the Panthers game in the sunken great room and those of us who wanted to chat could be in the den without even hearing the TV. My three adult nieces who don't often get to visit with one another had plenty of space downstairs for girl talk and watching movies...lovely sitting area and bedroom down there. And there are recyliners upstairs and down. We like recylining on vacation! The view from the back deck/porch is awesome with plenty of windows for those not inclined to sit outside. Here's something you don't always find in a vacation rental...comfortable beds! comfortable couches and plenty of chairs! plenty of dining space also! Even though we didn't use the fireplace, it is gorgeous. For me, it was great that I had wi-fi access so I could use my laptop and could check out restaurants, weather, and, ok, facebook. House is located in a nice, quiet neighbor with easy access from the main road. I enjoyed the short walk to the creek.Just beautiful mountains wherever you looked. I appreciated how easy Jim was to work with. Very customer focused. We have already booked for next year. I predict Jim is going to have LOTS of repeat renters.

This property and owners were great! The home is very spacious. We took a grandparents, children and grandchildren trip here for a week. The Maggie Valley location is centrally located between Asheville and Cherokee, making it pretty easy for several excursions during the week. We took 2 trips to Asheville to visit Biltmore Estate on one day and the Trolley city tour and a movie on another. We made 3 trips west--One to see the outdoor drama "Unto These Hills," another to visit the Oconaluftee Village, Cherokee Museum & tubing on the Oconaluftee and the final trip to Bryson City (great little town) for the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad trip (overpriced for the entertainment and educational value!). So, there's plenty to do! The kids enjoyed Jonathan Creek, which is in walking distance from the house. We all enjoyed the nearby local shops. Joey's pancake house lived up to all that we'd read and more! Food was "delish" & service was great! Overall, the visit was great! After busy days of sightseeing, it was nice to return home to a clean, comfortable, roomy space where everyone could have their own space to retreat if they'd like. The pictures really do not do justice in showing how roomy this house is and all that is has to offer! The only note I would make is that if you are used to watching television in bed, only the master provides this option. Otherwise, if you are as busy as we were, you may be too exhausted to watch tv anyway. The beds were very comfortable, as well. The owners were very accommodating with helpful information and were very prompt in refunding our deposit. We also received a courtesy call to make sure we had no problems checking in on the first day... very thoughtful and accommodating!

This was a great place to stay! I would recomend it to anyone. We are already looking for a reason to return. The house was complete, all you will need is food and drink and bath items of course. We had no issues while we were there. It was centrally located. Close to all attractions in the near area.Don't forget to go white water rafting you'll never forget it. Our kids had a great time there also. We seemed to find something to do everyday because of the location. We actually met the neighbor and found out that he lives about 10 miles from where we live. Thanks again, The Whites.

We recently returned from a beautifully quiet and relaxing week at this lovely mountain retreat. Our family comes to Lake Junaluska every year for the united Methodist Annual Conference gathering, but this is by far the nicest and most relaxing home we have ever rented. It was immaculately clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. In fact, none of us wanted to leave and return home. We will definitely return again in the near future. Thansk for sharing your home with us. The Craig Family Indian Land, SC

I'm compelled to tell you about our experience this past weekend (May 27-30) at this property! We wanted a relaxing weekend at a location that would provide a good view and a private lot. And we experienced all three!!! I remember the response from everyone (4 adults and 4 children) as we walked through the home for the first time and saw the remodeled bathroom upstairs!! It was awesome that a last minute idea to get away turned into a wonderfu weekend at a wonderful location. We visited Lake Junaluska and Wheels Through Time locally and we were not that far from Bryson City for our jet boat ride. We took 2 trips to Ashville and one was through the scenic route of the Blueridge Parkway. If you are looking for a private location with lots of space at a great price, this is the location. We will plan to visit again!!!!

Had a great stay in Maggie and lots of fun in Waynesville and surrounding areas. This is a good location for day trips to Asheville, Tennessee, Franklin, Cherokee etc., very central. Easy access and paved roads for the older folks. We were very impressed with the size of this home for the price. Kids have a very large basement level with TV, beds and bath so adults have some "alone time". Guess the bathroom was remodeled as the upstairs bath appears brand new, like the basement bathroom. Overall one of the best deals we have ever had.

Owner response: Yes we have recently finished a complete renovation of the upstairs guest bathrooms, and of course the entire lower level was just recently finished last year. All new appliances and ceramic tile in both of the kitchens have been well recived on our guest comment cards.

We really enjoyed our stay Feb. 2011. This was our 7th annual ski trip to N.C. and this was the best. The house is very well decorated and the downstairs suite was enjoyed by our teenage boys. The pictures do not do it justice. Easy access and only a short walk to the main street in Maggie Valley but still so quiet. The owner came right our when we had a little trouble with one TV and he got it working. Plenty of wood for the fireplace and we loved it. The weather was great, the skiing was great-Cataloochee had added more parking since we had last been here. Shops and eating in Waynesville was great and the General Mast store is always our favorite. The only thing that could be improved are the main floor baths which need updating. We plan on staying here next year!

Owner response: Yes, although currently clean and adaquate, the upstairs bath's are scheduled for a complete renovation this July. Of course the lower bath is brand new and the Master bath has a new ceramic tile floor. Also, as stated, all of our current improvements are not yet reflected in our pictures.

Great proximity to winter fun at Tony's Tube's and Cataloochee Ski Resort. Home was beautiful and was the perfect set up for multiple teenagers and parents. The owner was extremely responsive and prompt. I'd highly recommend staying in this home next time you visit Maggie Valley.

We've had the good fortunate to stay here for a few weeks over the past years. It's such a restful beautiful place & certainly large enough for more than one family. It has all the conviences of home and has four nice size bedrooms. The decor is great & spotless condition, with washer & dryer on the main level. It's great for hiking & close to a ski resort, resturants, gambling, shops, & several nice local resturants. We especially enjoyed the large deck with a great view of the Smoky Mountains. The lower level is it's own apartment with complete privacy . It has a kitchenette, dining area & twin beds and it's private patio. We look forward to going again in the fall where the foliage is breathtaking.

Large, comfortable, well furnished and very well located home within walking distance of Maggie Valley shopping and dining. The feel of country while close to town. Plenty of room for extended family or freinds if desired.
