Are you thinking of getting away for a while? Have you ever experienced the 'Low Country' and Beautiful Beaufort? The beach is truely, at your back door.
THIS IS 101 PALMS...
a private getaway located within 20 minutes of downtown Historic Beaufort in Coffin Point Plantation. Once you turn down the road you can't help but feel like you have 'been down this road before'? Why not?? The Avenue of the Oaks in Coffin Point is the backdrop for those long walks Forrest and Jenny took in 'Forrest Gump'. Movies such as Prince of Tides, GI Jane, White Squall, The Big Chill and The Legend of Bagger Vance are just a few of the other movies filmed here also. With all this gorgeous water and these grand old trees filled with moss, it is no wonder we are becoming known as the East Coast Hollywood.
While staying is this home, you will awake with pleasure to sensational sunrise views. Days will be spent sitting on 200 ft of semi private beach front. The home was completely renovated in 2008. Sophisticated appointments with gorgeous vintage slate; new hardwood floors; handmade tile; exceptional granite color & design; Oghetti light fixtures; on-demand hot water heater and so much more. The open space and 1 story floor plan, make it especially suitable for entertaining and handicap accessibilility. The professional kitchen with dual fuel Dacor cooking and Sub Zero refrigerator is fit for any foodie. A separate art studio is heated and great for arts and crafts. Screened porch with outdoor grill are perfect for enjoying easy dinners or your morning coffee. For a small fee you can ride a horse through the waves or rent a stable from the boarding stable down the way. The setting is remarkably private and serene. Truly lovely in every way. A 2 car garage is on premises.
You are minutes from Hunting Island State Park /Beach - which is good for fishing, exploring nature and looking for shells. Located on the island, and within minutes of home, are restaurants like: Foolish Frog - with acoustic entertainment on the deck overlooking the marsh; Bella Luna - Italian and Pizzeria; Boondocks - nightly specials; Shrimp Shack (If you haven't had a shrimp burger save yourself for this one) and Johnson Creek Tavern. Fresh catch can be purchased off the boat at Gay's Fish Company. You might catch your own. Local produce available nearby too.
In town, carriage and walking tours share stories of rich southern history and architecture of the 2nd oldest town in South Carolina. Living around water makes it easy to jump in a boat for skiing, fishing, shrimping, kayaking and sandbaring (a lowcountry boater past-time). Of course it wouldn't be South Carolina without golf courses too! Beaufort is conveniently located between Hilton Head, Charleston and Savannah. Upcoming events include: International Film Festival -February; Spring Tour of Homes-March; Soft Shell CrabFest- April; Taste of Beaufort Food Fest & Gullah Fest-May; 10 day Waterfestival-July and ShrimpFest-October. Not to mention PGA -Heritage Golf Tournament at Hilton Head, in the spring.
Come on down y'all. Please call or email for video tour and other info on the area if desired. Thank you for your interest in 101 palms.

We enjoyed our stay at 101 Palms so much! We hated to leave. The house was awesome---very private and relaxing. Beautifully landscaped and decorated inside and out. Great location. Not too far from restaurants and shopping. Loved watching the sun rise from the wall of windows in the master bedroom each morning. This was my retirement celebration and I was NOT disappointed! Will definitely come back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family had such a lovely time during our vacation on St. Helena Island. The house is absolutely beautiful...spacious, light and bright, with water views from almost every window. The bedrooms are large, the bathrooms are beautiful. My parents loved their master bedroom with views of the sunrise each morning. My mom said it would be hard to return to her own bathroom after using the master bath. It has the most exquisite granite counters, a huge glassed-in rain shower, and even a vanity area to do your make-up. There is a walk-in closet the size of a room connecting to the bathroom! The closets in the other two bedrooms are exceptionally large and well-outfitted, which my daughter and I loved. The kitchen is gorgeous and so nice to work in due to the layout and the high-end appliances. My mom and I cooked every meal (my husband also grilled) and we enjoyed all of our dinners either in the dining room looking at the water or on the screened porch looking at the water. My daughter also enjoyed creating artwork in the separate art studio. But by far the nicest feature of the house is its location right on the water and the privacy it affords. Our family really values our privacy and we found the house to be incredibly quiet and private. We took daily walks on our beach and due to the changing tides, we had new discoveries along the beach each day. We were lucky enough to be there during horseshoe crab mating season, and my whole family loved seeing the crabs and learning all about them. The pictures of this property are nice, but it's hard to put in to words how special it really is until you are there and experience it for yourself. The owners clearly designed and decorated this home with such care. I am thrilled that my family was able to live there for a short time and enjoy all that the peaceful little island of St. Helena and nearby Beaufort had to offer.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Pictures and description do not do the house and location justice. The house was clean and well furnished with anything you could possibly need. The grounds were beautiful, we really enjoyed the fire pit. The Swansons were great to work with, did everthing they could to make our stay very enjoyable. We have already recommended 101 Palms to friends and family. We hope to visit again soon. House is short distance to Hunting Island State Park , several local resturants, and downtown Beaufort.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had the best time!! The house was amazing and beautiful. The surf fishing was outstanding and we woke up to breathtaking sunrises every morning. The home is so private which is hard to find. We had the beach to ourselves the entire time. We fell in love with the area. And we bought Forrest Gump in town so our kids could see where they were staying in a movie. How cool is that?? We can't wait to come back next year!! :)Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our week's stay substantially exceeded our expectations! The home is beautiful and situated so that the ocean is truly in the backyard! Beware that due to shallow water, don't expect to swim off the beach. Hunter Point State Park is a few minutes away w/a fabulous, uncrowded beach but you do have to pay an entry fee. The home is deliciously isolated in a historical plantation and about 25 minutes or so from the supermarket, town, etc. You won't see any traffic out front since there is only one more house at the end of the road, and nobody will speed because it is a sand road which I think adds charm to the setting. The front yard is fenced and has a gate if little ones are a concern. The home is well furnished and lacked nothing to enjoy our stay! We felt right at home! We were also able to make an easy day trip to Savannah. Beaufort is a charming town and well worth a walking tour. Did I mention the huge walk in rain shower in the master bath? Wow!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway.
