We had a great time at this cute house!
We had a great time at this cute house!
As far as location: The area is very peaceful and the drive to Key West is short--around 20 minutes. We had no problem driving to and from a wedding in Key West, even though we came back late at night. There's a Publix nearby also. The house is located in the Venture Out gated community and it is very secure, with a guard posted 24 hours a day. And the House: The house is fabulous! It was very clean and everything everything was in good condition. The bedrooms are a little small, but there is lots of room in the closets and living room is spacious. The four of us fit well with plenty of room to spare. The comforters and couches are covered in bright prints in the true Florida style. Air conditioner worked great--always important in the summer--and so did the fridge, the blender and everything else we used. Stargazing on the balcony was awesome and the wi-fi came in very handy. We would definitely stay here again.

Had a wonderful stay. This location was close to many sites in the lower keys. I would highly recommend Bahia Honda. The resort facilities were great lots to do if you wanted to spend a day there. A short walk to the resort store if you forgot or needed something. The view from the water was stunning and a great place to watch the sun come up! You even have a great view of the sunrise from the balcony. The balcony was SO relaxing! Sitting outside in the am and pm was a nice start and end to the day. Having two bedrooms and two baths was incredibly convenient. There are plenty of kitchen supplies to make meals right at "home". That's really what this was, a home away from home. I would highly recommend a stay at this location you will not be disappointed. Having a washer/dryer in the unit was an added benefit. I am already contemplating a return trip!

The place was fantastic. Very clean and well decorated. It slept 6 people very comfortably and had every amenity you could ask for. Plenty of linens, cookware, etc. We enjoyed the bikes, fishing poles and grill. My kids also enjoyed the recreation center. I had read some reviews about grumpy locals not liking renters but I found this not to be the case. I met several of the local residents and all were very nice. The location in Cudjoe Key was perfect for us, nice and quiet. Both Key West and Bahia Honda State Park are a short drive away. The Looe Key snorkeling trip out of Bahia Honda is a must. My kids also enjoyed the Key West scooter and jet ski rentals. The Venture Out pool was great. We even snorkeled in the roped off section of the salt water lagoon at the resort. There were a lot of fish lobsters and fish along the wall.

Excellent maintained home and had a lovely stay
Excellent maintained home and had a lovely stay
The house was lovely and worked well for our 4 person family. Very well decorated and nice kitchen area for cooking. Loved having washer/dryer! Deck had great cushions and nice for sitting outside. Thank you for the use of the bikes, much appreciated! Only negative note: Venture Out staff was not friendly to renters. The "resort" was definitely outdated, meant for seniors, and the hot tub did not work. However the pool was well maintained. I did get scolded by security for bringing plastic water bottles to the pool area, really??

Manager response: Margaret, Thank you for the kind words about our house. We strive to make it a clean and comfortable home away from home for our guests. We are sorry about your experience with the resort staff. I am going to be sending your comments to the Manager of the resort.
The house had everything that anyone needs to feel comfortable on vacation. The unit rooms were very well decorated, and had enough room for 2 adults and 3 teenage boys to be comfortable in. The equipment that there to use was nice when going to the beach and fishing at the docks. The neighbors were really freindly. Ask Dotty the next door neighbor for charter fishing, dive and snorkel trips. The only complaint would be the beds are not very comfortable, and pets were not allowed. The community center had alot of things for kids to do. The beach was not cleaned, but the common areas offered excellent fishing. The house was 14 miles from Bahia Honda beach, don't waiste your time with Key West beaches.

Manager response: Albert, Thank you for the review. We are happy you enjoyed your stay. We do have great neighbors! It is hard to please everyone for the beds. Some like them soft and some like them firm. We have firm mattreses which appeal to most renters. We do not normally accept pets which is clearly stated in our description and should not be a complaint or a reduction in our rating. There are other properties at this resort that are pet friendly.
I took my sister and some of her children to the Keys, so renting a house sounded like the perfect plan.... IT WAS!! This home is just that ... homey, bright, all tricked out with a HUGE flat screen TV, lots of childrens Disney/Pixar VHS. big comfy couches and chairs. GREAT kitchen kept us all together while watching TV. Lovely beds, baths, excellent storage area with bikes, beach umbrellas, boogie board, etc. WONDERFUL community -- people are lovely. The POOL: awesome! clean! BIG! 5 stars ALL ROUND.
