The cabin is very nice and is a great location, has nice views and a short walk to the Toccoa River. Love the screened balcony. We ate several meals out there. Near grocery stores and restaurants. The hot tub was not clean and the water smelled bad. It needed treating. We had trouble with the gas grill, getting it lit and then heating hot enough to cook food. It took longer than normal to cook burgers. The TV in the lower level had connection problems with DirecTV and would lose the signal quite often. The kitchen is a little small. Only 2 people can work in the kitchen at a time. Nicely stocked kitchen, however we couldn't get the refrigerator ice maker to work and had to buy ice. All in all, in spite of the few negatives we had a good experience and would rent again.

Had a family reunion with 4 adult children, daughter-in-law, grandson and our dog. All raved about the accommodations. Appliances were top quality. Lots of room and tastefully decorated. Our youngest (22 years old) enjoyed fishing in the Toccoa River and we all enjoyed the hot tub. Only negative was queen sized bed in master bedroom a bit snug when used to a king.

We had a wonderful stay. The cabin itself was perfect and we loved it. There were a couple of problems. The hot tub wasn't working properly and the cable was out the entire time. Other than that we had a lovely time. The view is fantastic, the cabin very comfortable and the surrounding area perfect!

I am so thrilled with the experience that our family had at the Gray Heron House. I was looking for very specific criteria for where we planned to stay (on/near a river, hot tub, sleeps 13, pets allowed, fire pit, etc.) and I can confidently say that the property met all of my expectations. The listing photos were beautiful and gave us a really good understanding of the layout of the cabin and the amenities that we had available to us. We were very pleased that once we arrived, everything was as the pictures had expressed. The property was clean and well maintained and the kitchen had all of the necessities. The home was comfortable and we had such a great time spending time together as a family. I had communicated with Greg and Dana during the planning of our trip and they were very helpful right from the start. I appreciated all they did to accomodate our party and educate us on the ins and outs of their properties. We loved the location, property, home, and town so much we are already looking to schedule a return trip over the upcoming summer. We have shared our wonderful experience with our friends and family and would absolutely recommend that they plan their own trip to the Toccoa Properties. Thank you for a wonderful experience and we will be back soon!

This cabin was extremely nice. Everything was just as advertised and for our party's size the second dishwasher came in handy. And the price: you could not beat it anywhere. Highly recommend!!

This was our third time staying at Toccoa House property. Keep coming back:) Great amenities. Played Frisbee golf every day for hours!! Picturesque setting by the Toccoa River. Gorgeous fall weather. Cabin was very welcoming and comfortable - and well maintained. Used the wood-burning fireplace every day. Thanks to Greg and Dana for providing such a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy Blue Ridge, Georgia!

We planned a 3 family vacaion at this cabin and had a wonderful relaxing time. The house was clearly detailed with instructions and labeled to show what switch turned on what lights. The hot tub was clean. The availablilty of large screen LED TVs made watching the football game enjoyable. The pool table was a plus and kept us up all night! The River trails were fun and relaxing by the river was nice with a bottle of wine. Available wifi kept our kids 'plugged in'. Only negative was that the screened in porch could have been cleaned better from the spider webs but the cabin is in the rural mountains so it's a bit expected. We would love to stay here again sometime

I spent weeks researching cabins for an extended family vacation and stumbled on this listing on VRBO after thinking I wouldn't find a place worth the holiday prices we would have to pay for Labor Day. I found that Toccoa House Properties to be competitive in pricing but it exceeds all other properties in what they offer. We stayed in the Grey Heron house with 5 bedrooms and 5 baths with 4 additional bunk beds. We had 3 generations who each had beds and slept comfortably. But what sets these houses apart is the details you won't find elsewhere. 2 sets of binoculars (great so my kids never had to fight over them), 2 Bosch dishwashers, Viking stove with any pot or pan you'd need to cook, 2 coffee makers (we used for decaf and regular), grill with many grilling utensils - I could keep going just details in the house. But then you have the grounds which I found unmatched by any other property. This is one of 4 houses that share 12 riverfront acres, so you know your neighbor is quite a distance away (I've heard this is not common with N Georgia cabins). We used the swimming pool (absolutely gorgeous!) and the hiking trails daily. We tried the frisbee golf course but lost 2 in the river (still worth it though). The kids used the play set. My son caught a fish in the river. We had a problem with one of the shower drains and the onsite property manager told us we should have contacted her sooner so she could resolve it earlier. They really go out of their way to make sure you'll have a great stay. Next time we'll do some tubing because we'll definitely be back. My only concern is whether they'll have availability when we want to come again!

We had a family vacation at Toccoa House and had a wonderful stay. The home, grounds, pool, everything was immaculate. We brought our dogs, who had a great time running up and down the trails. would highly recommend it as one of the most beautiful properties in Blue Ridge. Tubing in the Toccoa is a MUST DO! We plan on returning next summer for a longer vacation. Loved it!

                  Year Purchased: 2008

About the owner: The Toccoa House Properties Story Proprietor Greg Spencer initially discovered the Blue Ridge area on a backpacking trip to the Cohutta Wilderness in the 1980’s. A short time later, enamored of the area, Greg embarked on a land purchasing mission that led him to 12 acres of undeveloped acreage. Amazed by the beauty of the Toccoa River and the inspiring views of the surrounding mountains, Greg wasted no time in securing what is now known as the Toccoa House Properties.

Why the Owner Chose Blue Ridge:
Amazed by the beauty of the Toccoa River and the inspiring views of the surrounding mountains, Greg wasted no time in securing what is now known as the Toccoa House Properties. During the 1990’s Greg built a small cabin, The Riverside Cabin, on the Toccoa River, and envisioned a larger house that he later built on the ridge above: The Toccoa House, completed in 2000. Next came The Carriage House in 2002, and the in-ground, seasonally heated swimming pool in 2007. Our newest addition, The Grey Heron House, was completed in late 2007. Dana is a native of North Georgia and brings Southern Charm to each Guest Experience, handling the Reservation Process, Housekeeping and Custom Arrangements. Our pets and property mascots, Budrow, Lily and Bobby Jo (BJ is named for the Blue Ridge couple, Bobby and Jo, who gave him to us, thank you so much!!), may greet you if they happen to be on the property when you visit. While they often bark, what they really want is for you to pet them! Thank You So Much For Visiting, Dana and Greg

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Since our 12 acre property spans over 1000 feet of Toccoa River frontage, and consists of a peninsula created by a horseshoe bend in the river, we are surrounded by water on three sides. We are close to town, yet secluded and private. We have other units available, please contact us for more information.
