My family and I spent seven days at Briar Rabbit Rustic Lodge. It was the most beautiful place in the spring with the azaleas and tulips in full bloom. One morning we got up, went outside and to our surprise there stood three deer. The next day we saw twelve turkeys. You have to be very quite or they will run away. It was nice getting into a clean hot tub that was actually “hot”. The house has large rooms and closets. The kitchen has everything anyone would ever need for meal preparation. The kids enjoyed being downstairs watching t.v. and doing their own thing while adults were able to do theirs. There is a grill on back deck next to pool where we were able to keep an eye on the children and cook at the same time. It was nice having two picnic tables so everbody had a place to sit. It is a great place for a large party! Thank you so much for a wonderful time. It was truly the most pleasant vacation I have spent in a long time.

Hello Briar Rabbit! We miss you all down there; now we understand what true Southern hospitality means. Although we were there just in late January, we can’t wait to come for another visit. Thanks to your kindness is helping us with directions, finding the best restaurants, and being so quick to offer a helping hand with just about any thing it seemed. Never felt safer and more secure after traveling so far from home and being in a home away from home, than we did at Briar Rabbit; owners are ready and willing to fix any thing neccesary in order to ensure that our stay was as comfortable and stress free as possible. Rooms were large and decor absolutely beautiful. There was nothing the property lacked. When in the kitchen I found everything I needed to cook my family a meal; drawers were stocked just like being in my own home. I liked the privacy one had at the jacuzzi area. It was more like having two houses in one. Great place for large family reunion! Looking Forward to this summer!

This is a lovely spot, soon to be our yearly lodge for our family reunion. It is like a home away from home. Everything you would ever need is provided. We just wanted to be together and rest and enjoy each others company, but on Saturday we did drive into Chattanooga and go on the Incline and on to Ruby Falls. We then had lunch along the river. Just a wonderful trip. We are so glad to have found Briar Rabbit!

We stayed here in October 2012 with 6 adults and 5 children, all under the age of 3. We are from N. Alberta, and finding a house on-line is always a gamble! Over all I have to say our experience was great. Yes we would stay again. I'll start with the Pros: 1. Loads of rooms and space, never felt we were in each other’s way 2. Lots of kids books and random toys that our kids loved. 3. Overall it was pretty child proof, minus a few things that were easily moved. A bonus would have been a baby gate and a play pen! 4. House and hot tube were Clean 5. Had some of the basic cooking spices etc, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent etc. 6. Grounds were beautiful, fall is a great time to go with all the beautiful trees turning color. Also there are trails on the property, but we didn't get a chance to utilize them. 7. The gentleman (Skeet) living in the building right next to the house was very friendly and never bugged us or made it seem he was ever around, so I didn't feel uncomfortable with him there. He was great if we had a question, found something wrong with the house etc. And having something wrong with the age of this house is likely inevitable... plus he cleared leaves and removed our garbage! Thanks Skeet!! The house owner, Wanda, was there when we arrived to greet us, but we didn't see her again, so it was nice not feeling their presence. Cons: 1. Yes the house is filled with loads of personnel items (but it made it interesting). Kitchen drawers were filled with too much stuff and could be cleaned out. 2. Carpet downstairs isn't the nicest, but it was still fairly clean (as carpet goes) 3. The pool, as you can see in the pictures, is small and is NOT heated, so our kids didn't enjoy that as much as we were hoping. 4. The basement has the 'old house' smell, so if you have allergies, then maybe this house isn't for you,. 5. Our BIGGIST complaint, was the dogs. They have Yorkies there, you don't see them, and typically didn't hear them, but they always seemed to bark first thing in the morning. 6. There was a leak from the upstairs bathroom to the basement, which we told to Skeet, so hopefully it does get fixed. 7. Play structure outside was well used and could use some new support. 8. Little further from down Town Chattanooga then we wanted (30-40 minutes away). We ended up flying into Atlanta and driving up, so when we arrived it was dark, so the driveway was hard to find (look for the sign that has "Yorkies" on it Thank You!

List of Items we found to be unacceptable as renters: 1) Should have been told prior to renting that owner lived on premises. They made us feel uncomfortable. 2) The house had too too many personal items & christmas decor in it and every drawer was filled with stuff. 3) Kitchen floors dirty - we knew this because of crawling baby. 4) Downstairs - tacks found on the floor where toddlers could step on 5) Big leak in bathroom next to kitchen - water coming in through vents 6) Dishwasher not stable - almost falls out when opening the door 7) Master Bath - wires hanging out of ceiling 8) Boards on all decks - unsafe & need replacing 9) Blinds in house dirty & needs replacing - especially the kitchen 10) Carpets and rugs not vacuumed 11) Yellow Jackets around pool area - needs to be eliminated 12) All pots, pans, dishes and glasses we used had to be washed before using 13) Back Up lighting did not work when power went out 14) Dogs barking at 2:00AM 15) Needed to have been told prior to renting that owner lived on premises. They made us feel uncomfortable. 16) The house had too too many personal items & christmas decor in it and every drawer was filled with stuff. This was not our most pleasant rental experience. We left a day early because of the issues above.

Owner response: Gosh, I am very sorry you had a bad stay at Briar Rabbit. I wish you had brought these issues to my attention during your 7 night stay; the times we spoke by phone. Thank you, for your feedback, and these items addressed are being looked into.

We had a wonderful- comfortable stay. Thanks Muchly and God Bless Wanda and family. Many precious memories were shared and we are BLESSED. We were able to not only visit but to spread out. We were able to use the downstairs-as a staging area for flower arranging. Room to spread out for Tulle separating and assembling favor boxes. The pool and the hot tub were a blessing. The bathrooms an amazing plus-especially if you getting ready to go out on a special night. Plenty of parking. We had a 15 pass. van. Side roads to jog (some went jogging). The city of Lafayette has plenty of restaurants and supermarkets. The top deck is so LOVELY..we had our coffee in the morning. We spent 16 days. The owner (close by)came to make sure we were comfortable and her cute Yorkies.I don`t know what else to say...We miss it already!!!!

Our family and another family stayed at Briar Rabbit Lodge and there was plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen is large enough for several cooks and "helpers" to move around in, the hot tub was perfect, and the house felt secluded but was really accessible. It was very homey; we even enjoyed a stash of children's books. The owner was very helpful via phone and email. The location was so convenient to Atlanta, Chickamauga, and Chattanooga. We would love to come back in warmer weather and enjoy the pool.

This home is beautiful inside and out. The description of the home barely does it justice, the home is well appointed, cozy yet accomodating for large groups, secluded and yet accessible. Everything you need and more is provided for you. You'll feel right as if you stepped into your own home away from home! We rented the house at the last minute (2 days ahead of time) to house my extended family for my daughter's graduation and Ms. Vickie made everything go as smoothly as possible without hesitation. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Just bring your clothes (don't forget your swimsuit) and be prepared to have the best vacation possible. Oh yeah, and with a Walmart 5 minutes away what more could you ask for.
