Lovely apartment, hosts and location
Lovely apartment, hosts and location
This apartment met all of our needs as to comfort and location. We enjoyed our stay there with our 2 kids and would stay there again. Oleg met us and could not have been nicer. It was also well equipped. The location is great near several grocery stores, restaurants and 2 metro stops.

This was our second stay. We can't say enough about how wonderful both of our stays have been!! We have a student at Concordia and come to Montreal to celebrate the US Thanksgiving. Luda and Oleg are wonderful hosts. We felt very welcomed by them. Bagels and coffee and tea waiting. The apartment is beautiful and VERY comfortable! We felt like we were staying at a good friends home. The beds are extremely comfortable! Everything we needed to prepare a major meal was there along with enough dishes to serve a family of five plus extra friends. There is also laundry available, a great bonus for a traveling family. There are games and books which appeal to all. (ages 10-59 including teens)The apartment has a GREAT location and off street parking! The subway is very short walk and then the city is yours. Markets abound nearby. The Atwater Market is a little walk and well worth it!! Wonderful apartment, sweet hosts, great location, our home away from home! We always suggest this apartment to our friends traveling to Montreal!

Such a great location! Oleg was a good help answering questions and giving suggestions on things to do. The bagels and coffee were great and started us off in the morning. The metro and the bixi bikes are so convenient and the amenities couldn't be better- you really don't need a car. You must be ok with stairs for this place but it is very comfortable and well equipped. We took a cab from the airport when we arrived but chose to take the 747 bus back and it was great - really quick and easy and definitely cheaper. What a wonderful holiday - can't wait to come back!

Wonderful location within a short walk to two metro stations so there was no need to use our car once we arrived. The owner was incredibly helpful in giving us suggestions on things to do or providing directions. He mentioned Bixi Bikes to us and it was a great inexpensive way to get around the city (provided the weather is nice). Montreal is a very bikeable city and even for me (Mom) who hadn't been on a bike in close to a couple decades, it was very enjoyable. The bikes can be picked up and dropped off at hundreds of different area locations. As for the apartment itself, it is very spacious and has lots of old character so it feels like you are living more like a Montreal native than a tourist. The check-in/out process was easy and friendly. It is located in a quiet area that is still close to anything you want to see.

Our stay here in early spring was a very positive experience. Montreal is really a great place to visit. This listing (328995) stands out in three ways from other places we've stayed. First, the apartment itself is very comfortable, interestingly furnished with real personality. We felt at home right away - everything we needed was provided, and there's no impersonal or institutional feeling at all. An elevated train line runs behind the building, but we found it to be calm and quiet inside. We liked the wireless Internet access. Second, the location is quite convenient, with two metro lines and two grocery stores within 5-10 min walk. A 10-15 min walk takes you to St Catherine St near Concordia University, where there are many restaurants. We had a car, but we only used it one day to drive up to Mt Royal. Third, Oleg and Luda are perfect hosts, with exactly the right balance of responsiveness, local knowledge, helpfulness with the apartment, and friendly circumspection. We got the feeling that they would help arrange anything within their power. One additional benefit, for those with small children, is that we found it very child-friendly for our two-year-old. There's a small park nearby and also the children's library. On an unrelated note, we enjoyed visiting the Marche du Nord, which has similar things to the Marche Atwater but is less touristy - if you're on the Metro anyway, it's easily accessible.

My family visited Montreal over the weekend and stayed at this apartment. As described, it is on a beautiful tree lined street and is centrally located, only a few minutes walk to either the Lionel Groulx or Atwater Metro Stations. The apartment was very comfortable for 4 adults and 2 young children. It was everything it promised! Thank you Oleg and Luda! Sujini & Jay

My son and I stayed a week in this apartment in February 2011. This of course was during Montreal's frigid winter temperatures, so we appreciated our apartment's fully controllable electric heat that kept us warm and comfortable at all times. Oleg thoughtfully picked me up from the nearby Lionel-Groulx bus/metro station (very conveniently the first stop for the 747 Express bus that goes to and from the airport), and drove me and my luggage the short but uphill walk to the apartment and helped me get settled right in. A supply of coffee, bagels, butter and cream cheese was waiting, so we felt instantly at home. The apartment is on a quiet, safe and picturesque street and since we did not have a car, its location was ideal, within easy walking access to 2 different Metro lines. The nearby Atwater Market (open year-round) was a wonderful place to shop for all our food supplies. We didn't need to use a chain supermarket at all, though there are several nearby. Since we love films, we took full advantage of the 22 screens available at the nearby AMC shopping mall up the street. The nearby “Maison de Kebab” restaurant serves a huge and highly recommended “Hunter's Platter”. The apartment is spacious and the beds comfortable, with great duvets. The wireless was easy to set up, fast, and reliable. Light sleepers might find the noise of commuter trains that pass at the rear of the apartment sleep-disturbing, but we felt all the plusses of the apartment far outweighed this negative. We would recommend this apartment to anyone who is OK with the two flights of stairs leading to its entrance. With its two bedrooms and well stocked kitchen, it is very suitable for a family with children or for a couple on their own.
