The house was very clean and had everything we needed for a week at the lake. Four adults and two kids slept comfortably and the house is conveniently located near restaurants both on and off of the water as well as grocery stores and fast food. The owners were very helpful in answering questions both before and during our stay. We will be back and will recommend this house to our friends!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

The home had everything we needed. We loved the three areas to have our meals, the front porch, the back deck and the fire pit area was great. It was a wonderful location, close to town, Monkey Island, and Honey Creek State park. We hope to come to Grove again sometime.Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+.

We spent 2 weeks at this beautiful home and could not have been more comfortable anywhere else! Your pictures are accurate but don't catch that cozy feel of your place - we walked in and instantly felt comfortable and at home and appreciate being able to have our dogs with us. Your place is in a great location with everything so close, the boat slip was convenient and easy and fishing was excellent! It was an added pleasure to get to meet both Mick and Carla! Mick helped with fishing tips and Carla with shopping! We have already booked again for the summer and will book a third time in the fall. This is our go to spot from now on.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our recent stay at The Retreat at Fox Hollow was short but very sweet. It is obvious that the owners Mick and Carla love their home at the lake and work very hard for their guests to love it too. Everything about the home made us feel welcome and comfortable. Beautiful décor inside, amazing decks with wonderful views outside, special touches everywhere. Equipped with all the amenities, we didn't find ourselves wishing for anything but a place like this for ourselves someday. We enjoyed the rustic outdoors setting next to the lake, all the while knowing that shopping and restaurants were only a few minutes away. We were also very appreciative that our dogs were able to join us on our little getaway - they had fun exploring an outdoors (on leashes, of course!) full of scents they could track... our backyard must be the dullest place on earth by comparison. We saw a number of deer pass through and my husband spotted a fox while on one of the walks with the dogs – luckily, they didn't see it or they would've run him ragged trying to chase it ;). This was our first visit to Grand Lake and we are very glad that we found this little piece of heaven to call home for a few days. We definitely hope to return and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. Thanks for everything!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Fox Hollow is the perfect place to stay while visiting Grand Lake. The owners have everything you need on hand and the house is very clean and comfortable. We were especially appreciative that we could bring our 2 dogs with us to enjoy in the fun. The owners were also spot on with their restaurant recommendations, don't miss Portobella's steak house for a fantastic meal!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We really enjoyed the week at your home. We loved all the little extra efforts you made to be sure we were comfortable and had a pleasant stay, from the welcoming notes to the phone call to see if everything was okay or if we had any questions. Everything is so clean and well maintained. The decks are fantastic, and we loved having the covered seating area so we could sit out in all weather conditions. The bird life is fantastic! The wrens were investigating your wren house, the hummingbirds were battling over the feeders, and the red headed woodpeckers were extremely busy! That was a nice added surprise. Also, we discovered the Paddlefish Research Station and spent some fun time fishing for these "dinosaurs"! Actually caught two of them, 46 and 27 pounds! The Research Station is very interesting and the biologists and workers were extremely helpful. Thanks for everything.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

We are not fisherpersons, we were looking for a place to just kick back and relax. We had a great time. Really enjoyed the TV, large tub, and the porch and deck. Nice place to just relax. We had fun poking around Grove. We are from "up North" and really enjoy Braums! The kids liked haveing separate rooms and we found a few books on the local shelves to enjoy while we were there. Thanks for a great get away.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Carla and I also enjoyed the beer and meatballs you left behind. Come back soon.........Mick and Carla

I had a great time at your lake home. I love the country setting only minutes from downtown. After a full day of shopping, it was nice to relax with a drink, sitting by the chiminea. Deer even passed by the deck. How exciting! Can't wait to return. About the owner: Mick (Fire-Captain) and Carla (Retired Nurse) understand the need for a regular de-stressing. They have taken many family and couples vacations over the years to accomplish just that. When it came time to find a more permanent destination they looked to Grand Lake for that special place. They knew this was it when they saw it, and hope you enjoy it as well.
Why the Owner Chose Grand Lake of the Cherokees:
We have always wanted to own a home on Grand Lake, and had plans after retirement to do just that. However our professions have taught us that life is now, right this minute. Time is precious, and time spent at Grand Lake is never wasted. It's clear water, great fishing, and beautiful scenery make it a no brainer. We chose the Grove area because it is close to EVERYTHING! Tons of restaurants and shopping. Not to mention all that the Ozarks have to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Enjoy a great view of the lake, good breeze in the summer, as well as the abundant wildlife in the area. Deer, Fox, raccoons, and our very own groundhog 'Sonic'. Use Fox Hollow as a base from which to launch all of your fun. At the end of the day relax in our large Jacuzzi tub for two, then sit in front of the fireplace and enjoy a great movie... or just quiet. If Outside is more your speed, then enjoy the smell of the chiminea or roast marshmallows in the fire pit (wood provided). If your planning on bass fishing consider booking a trip with Mick. He is a licensed guide with over 20 years on Grand lake. If you're going to try it on your own; be sure to ask Mick for his suggestions on 'where and what' to ensure success during your stay. Our guests enjoy a reduced rate on full day guided trips.
