I must commend you as you’ve made a really good decision to consider vacationing in Mexico.
And now that you’ve made up your mind to vacation in Mazatlan, you have a choice of at least a dozen condos for rent in Costa Bonita. As you will no-doubt read many times over, our development is a great place to vacation and all of us hosts work to make Costa Bonita a vacation destination that will be truly memorable for you. All the information about Costa Bonita is available to you on the other write-ups so I won’t bother repeating all they have to say.
But what you, as prospective Mazatlan vacationers don’t know, is that not all Costa Bonita condos are the same. My wife and I are proud to have the very finest condo available in the Costa Bonita development. And it’s not even close. Here’s why....
When we first purchased our unit, we had intended it to be our south-of-the-border retirement home. We did not want to outfit the apartment with the standard development furniture package as we felt it was too hard, square and uncomfortable (as well as predictable). So we spent close to $20,000 outfitting our unit with tasteful and comfortable furniture that we schlepped down from California. The folks from Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Pier 1 and Scandinavian Designs were all very happy with our decision. Also, we have top-of-the-line mattresses that make sleep really restful. Everyone loves our beds!
By the way, if you look at the pictures of all the other Costa Bonita apartments, you’ll notice that most have the SAME furniture. We don’t! Also our kitchen has been remodeled and upgraded and now includes a bright red porcelain sink and beautiful Brazilian granite, unlike many of the other units which have basic Formica counter-tops and metal sinks. The kitchen has been outfitted with all the necessary items. Also, the whole unit has been converted from the white walls standard at Costa Bonita to walls covered with warm and vibrant color. It just feels good being inside.
Then there’s the view. We are on the top floor which offers great ocean views from all windows and balconies. Our condo has a primo southern exposure of the city.... not a northern exposure of a noisy, dusty construction site. We also have a view to the mountains to the east so you can watch the sunrise as well as the sunset. Breezes are the very best as we are on the 6th floor, high up enough to get them. So don’t get stuck on one of the lower floors or end up with a view of the driveway or heavy construction by ending up on the north side of our complex.
Simply unheard of from a rental, you can if you like, have the complimentary use of our Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo during your stay at our condo. This will give you incredible flexibility to your vacation as you can come and go as you please. It will come in very handy to not have to rely on public transportation and cabs especially when it comes to seeing the sights and getting to stores and restaurants. This will save you many hundreds of dollars had you rented a car for your vacation, as rental cars in Mexico are very expensive. NOTE: Mexican insurance will have to be arranged for. Please ask for details.
Also, we offer a Mazatlan based cell phone for the use of our guests. Very convenient for making reservations while out and about or for getting directions. We have Wi-Fi internet throughout the complex and a CAT5 cable outlet in the bedroom for your laptop.

With regard to prices, our unit rents for $3000 per month or $850 per week. You shouldn't think for a minute that all apartments available for rental are the same. Some are good and some are top notch. Unfortunately there are a few old units with dogeared furniture or a pervasive musty odor. We consider ours to be the very best value for your dollar. I know you will too.

Lorenzo and Virginia, owners since 2001. Love Mazatlan and consider this their second retirement home. Not at all concerned about the media's sensationalism of Mexico's problems. First it was the Swine Flu but Mazatlan had exactly zero reported cases. Then there are the occasional reports about violence due to the drug war. As if you have no drug-related violence in San Francisco, Chicago or New York. The chances of some calamity crossing your path here in Mazatlan are next to zero. But there's one way to fulfill that prediction.... it's if you are buying drugs, or trying to muscle-in on the drug selling territory of the existing cartels, or agreeing to deliver drugs to your friends back home.... well, i hope you get the picture.
The bottom line is that Mazatlan is definitely safer for you, the tourist, than any big city back home. Any.
