The property itself was wonderful, as nice as any stay we've had, anywhere. But the owner's attention, thoughtfulness, and caring attitude made this property much more than a bed and breakfast. It was home in the best way possible. We enjoyed sunrises with the birds and the owner's delicious coffee in the ranchita while our breakfast was prepared to order. Following the owner's suggestions, we experienced an amazing hike with quetzels, orchids, and bromeliads; and loved a tour of Cafe Ruiz, a local coffee plantation. Wish we'd had much more time! I recommend this property without reservations.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

My husband and I stayed at Randy's lovely separate cottage for three nights in May. We were truly overwhelmed by how beautiful the setting is offering floor to ceiling windows looking out over the mountains and coffee farms. The cottage itself was extremely will crafted and comfortable...nothing was lacking. And Randy was a superb host...each morning bringing us the breakfast of our choice and offering valuable information about the surroundings. We felt very lucky, indeed, to have found this fabulous place and cannot recommend more highly.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

The Mañana Madera Coffee Estate is incredible! We stayed in the Guest Suite for 4 nights and we can honestly say that it was the highlight of our trip. The grounds are incredible, so beautiful. We loved the Ranchito, and spent a lot of time there. We enjoyed bird watching, seeing the clouds roll in, and just feeling like we were the only people in the world enjoying the incredible views. The rocking chairs and hammocks were terrific for afternoon snoozing (and escaping reality). The Guest Suite is fantastic, top quality all the way. The views from the Guest Suite are fantastic from all the large glass windows. There is nothing better than watching the sunrise from your bed, or seeing the stars and fire flies at night. Randy is amazing, and truly spoiled us. Breakfast was served everyday, when we wanted it, and we never lifted a finger. His sausage is a homemade recipe and just delicious. His coffee every morning was a treat. We are not big coffee drinkers, but Randy's coffee converted me, I am now officially a coffee drinker. Randy has a dog and a cat, and they are just adorable. Each morning "Chubbs" (the dog) would be sitting quietly outside to say good morning to us. Randy's advice about hikes, where to eat, and what to do were spot on, and very valuable. The map and cell phone Randy loaned us were great, and we even had rain ponchos should we need them. We definitely will be back to Boquete, and there is only one place we will be staying, the Mañana Madera Coffee Estate (we can't wait!).Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This Coffee Estate Manana Madera was one of the best parts of our Panama Trip! We were happy just staying at this beautiful Estate, but we also were lucky to have a friendly trusted host - who made delicious made to order breakfasts every morning. Of course the coffee was delicious- grown right there! The views were awesome of the valley of Boquete below and the Volcun Baru above. This Coffee estate is in the area to the famous hikes to the Los Quetzals. Inside the Guest house was perfectly appointed, rich in decor, and quality (better than the photos!). Our Host -Randy gave us great dinner recommendations, and area activities. Randy was very thoughtful, so helpful, and gave us all the privacy we needed. I would definitely recommend to stay here to any of my friends and family.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Loved the guest house. It was spotlessly clean. Randy was a fantastic host who gave us excellent recommendations for local restaurants. Randy was kind enough to give us an education in coffee growing that was very informative. He also loaned us a cell phone which turned out to be very usefull when we thought we were lost near Volcan! The breakfasts were yummie (great local orange juice). Chubbs (the dog) was very sweet and entertaining and has a taste for coffee! Highly recommended!Did you find this review helpful? All of the prior reviews are spot on, Finca Mañana Madera was the highlight of our glorious week spent in Panama. Randy was a fantastic host with lots of ideas for things to do off the finca. The accommodations and food could not have been better. Boquete has so much to offer, we need a return trip.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

If you are traveling to Boquete, I highly suggest you stay here for the first 3-4 days! Randy and Jamie are well known in the town, and are a wealth of information. And the B&B is second to none (I have traveled around the area a few times). You will come away feeling like $80 a night is beyond a bargain. For the Facebook people out there, here are some pictures from my first trip. I plan on coming back at least twice a year. I love this place. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=156579&id=659397061 EricRecommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

We are about to leave this little paradise, and almost since we arrived, we have been talking about when and how we can come back -- our stay has been too, too short. Randy and Jamey have created a beautiful spot on this mountainside and we feel beyond lucky to have found it. From the States, we live in Costa Rica half the year. We are still entering Costa Rica on tourist visas, so we must leave every 90 days to renew our visas. In the past we have traveled to Nicaragua (very close to our Costa Rica home), to Guatemala (to study Spanish) and back to the US for this purpose. We won't be looking elsewhere, ever again. We can't say much more than "ditto" to all the reviews written up to now, except to add: Take Randy's advice about restaurants. We've had two of our best dinners ever here in Boquete -- and we've only had two dinners here. His ability to pick a restaurant is right up there with his five-star hosting. We've had 48 hours in the lap of luxury. The picture of the exterior of the guest suite doesn't do it justice, and the interior shots don't quite capture the feel of the place either. We were expecting a relatively nondescript cabina-type experience. Not even close. The suite is large, luxurious, beautifully furnished and decorated. it couldn't be more comfortable. And the birds! A full morning's entertainment.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Drinking delicious coffee on the veranda while hummingbirds hover just inches from your face; relaxing in the hammock on the ranchito while gazing at the beautiful visitas of the volcano behind you or the seashore in front of you, strolling the flower-filled streets of Boquete, or enjoying a meal with Randy and Jamie, the gracious hosts at Finca Manana Madera... these are just a few of the things that make a visit to this wonderful little B&B an outstanding choice for a visit to Panama. Boquete is a quiet and friendly little town with several great little restaurants. And the proprietors of Manana Madera are wonderful folks. This is a superb destination if you just want to kick back and enjoy beautiful weather and scenery and get away from it all.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Bob, you can always consider Manana Madera as your home away from home. In fact, you have been away too long already. Come see us soon. R and J

We visited the Manana Madera Coffee Estate and Guest Suite in mid-September. As stated in all of the other reviews posted on this website, yes, it is truly a magnificent place and the hosts could not have been better. However, there is more to Manana Madera than an amazing estate/guest suite. My purpose for visiting Boquete centered around scouting possible retirement communities. This is where the hosts, Randy and Jamie, really shined. The information provided by these folks could not have been purchased at any price. They detailed areas to avoid and those to put on my wish list. They were up to speed on rules, regulations, permits and basically all information for which a future retiree is looking. They also have all the contacts one would need, from builders to attorneys. This made my goal so much more attainable. For those folks like me who are headed to Panama in search of a retirement community, I highly recommend visiting this estate and squeezing as much information out of Randy as possible. Luxury accommodations and guidance which was a tremendous value!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
