DESCRIPTION OF LOCATION:
The apartment is located right in the heart of the ancient Rome, close to CAMPO DE' FIORI and PIAZZA NAVONA, in Via dei PETTINARI.This street was restored by Pope Sixtus IV at the same time that the SIXTUS BRIDGE was rebuilt to create a link between the commercial areas of this district with TRASTEVERE neighborhood.
The name of the street was derived from the fact that the street used to be used by comb manifacturers. The local areas also have streets named after the mains commercial activities that used to take place in them. That's the reason you can find, even today, many artist's workshops.
The apartment is only a few minutes walk from Piazza Navona,Campo de' Fiori,Pantheon. We just spent four nice nights (7 people) in the apartment. The three bedrooms easily accommodated us, although the one bathroom was a bit constraining. The kitchen was nicely equipped, the laundry machine was nice, and the overall condition of the apartment was excellent. The small street was quite noisy at night with foot traffic, but not unbearable. There is a market across the street and the apartment is fantastically located for walking, dining, sightseeing, etc. Unlike other apartments we rented on our trip (Florence, Siena, Orvieto, Sorrento) this was well heated. This apartment would be perfect for two or three couples traveling together or a family with 2 or 3 children. I would definitely stay again if traveling through Rome. The only drawback (maybe an advantage) is that it is not extremely close to a bus or the metro stop. There is a tram line not to far, but getting to the main train station requires at least one transfer.

My family stayed here in early June. The owner was very helpful before we arrived, and Enzo helped orient us to the apartment. I believe all the earlier reviews summed it up. This is a great location near Piazza Farnese and the Campo de Fiori, and less than a ten minute walk to Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. In the other direction across the pedestrian only Sisto bridge is Trastavere and a lot of nightlife for a down along the Tiber. All that nearby nightlife means it is noisy, although the bedroom away from the street is relatively quiet. Rick Steves wrote about the nightwalk in Rome, from Campo de Fiori to the Spanish Steps. He really should extend it past this apartment to the Sisto bridge and Trastavere. The shower is small, but everything was clean, albeit somewhat spartan. The photos are accurate. All in all, a very good place to visit Rome from, especially if you enjoy the nightlife (and who doesn't in Rome?), and you're not too bothered by noise.

The location of this apartment made all ths sights accessible by foot (though some further than others). Upon our arrival, Enzo gave us detailed information on appliances and nearby facilities. Both he and Emy were friendly and helpful. We had a supermarket right across the way with a great gelateria on the corner. "Noisy" in the front rooms is an understatement on a Saturday night before a holiday and we recommend ear plugs and turning the fan on even when not hot for some white noise interference! Other nights were noticeably quieter though still noisy. It looked as if there were once curtains in these rooms and these could have helped muffle the sound. The bathroom has been renovated since the photos and was light and clean. However, there were no hooks or rails for any towels to hang, no shelving for toiletries and no soap holder in the shower - difficult when the shower is too cosy to easily bend over in. The ad said "new" furniture" but this was not in evidence. Whilst there were sufficient beds, we were not given enough linen for us all and had to use cot blankets/sheets to make up for this. With kids, not having a living room was difficult as the only non sleeping area was the kitchen/dining which was fine for eating but small otherwise. If you are after a handy location with easy access to the main tourist spots, we would recommend this place providing you can sleep through party crowds.

We stayed several nights in this apartment on our family vacation to Italy. It is in a great location, very close to Campo De Fiori, and we took advantage of this to purchase some great fresh produce for our meals. Also there is a very nice market right acroiss the alley from the apartment. The Gelateria on the corner is excellent. The owner is great to work with and super nice! We were able to walk to all the major sites in 30 minutes or so. The things to know going in: This is near.in an area that has a lot of night life - that means it's noisy, and we did experience some difficulties with this. If you take it as part of the experience you will be fine - if that bothers you, take note. (this area is referenced as a noisy evening area by Rick Steve's for example - he's right!) No internet in the building. There is an internet cafe/laundromat nearby. small bathroom (particularly the shower) for us large folk (and I dont mean fat). It's clean, but not spotless I would stay here again, but if you are looking for a spotless, modern, luxury condo in Rome this would not be what I'd point you to. It is an affordable, centrally located apartment with kitchen and laundry capabilities. Great place if you like the nightlife in particular. To me, the location and serviceablilty of the porerty make up for the few/minor shortcomings.

Stayed at this apartment for 2 weeks from Oct 11 - 26, 2010. Excellent location right between Trastevere & Camp di Fiori. All major Rome attractions are within walking distance. Apartment was very spacious & comfortable and communications for booking and questions were answered very promptly. There is a lot of street noise from pedestrians for the 2 bedrooms that face Via dei Pettinari but if you can sleep through anything (as my friend could!) then you should be fine. The bedroom facing the courtyard was quiet. The courtyard is outside seating for a local restaurant so on weekends it does get a bit noisy as well. There is no living room in the apartment but this wasn't an issue for us. The shower in the bathroom is very small (don't expect to bend over easily!) and there is no shelving to store personal toiletries. The floor in the kitchen was rather dirty - our white socks were black after a day of walking around the apartment. Enzo was very accommodating - picked us up at the airport and dropped us off. There is a small supermarket across from the apartment that is very conveniet and a expresso bar & leather goods store just down the street. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Camp de Fiori market every day - lots of great things to buy and great trattorias for dinner at night. All in all a great location and apartment!

This apartment is in an excellent location and most of the major sights of Rome are within walking distance. It is also extremely spacious with very comfy beds. There are plenty of places to eat out at night. We found the ones in the larger more popular piazzas more expensive but you could go down the side streets or over the bridge to the Trastevere district and find cheaper eating places. We arrived on a Saturday and were warned that it would be very noisy that night which it was. The pedestrianised road in front of the apartment seems to be the main thoroughfare for people and was always very busy in the night and noisy. The king bedroom overlooking the courtyard was very quiet. We were surprised that there was not more information in the apartment about the equipment and services in the local area. We tripped the electric by putting the grill and kettle on at the same time which we were able to sort out quickly. We also had no hot water for a day, luckily another resident in the flats came in and showed us the switch next to the mirror in the bathroom which we never would have found. One nice touch was there is a phone in the apartment for emergencies and to contact the owner. We also felt very safe as there were very sturdy locked doors into the entrance hall and the flat. As others have said there is a very handy supermarket just opposite the apartment, also a very nice leather handbag shop a couple of doors down from the apartment. We had arranged pick up from the airport which was well worth the price and the driver who collected us was very pleasant giving us a map of the centre of Rome and pointing out places of interest on our way. A word of warning on the return journey they took us to the wrong airport and charged us extra for the mistake so just emphasize which airport you need before you set off. We all had a wonderful holiday in Rome and look forward to returning as there is so much to see and do and the Italian people are very friendly and helpful.

I spent a week here with my two kids (ages 2 and 5) and my friend and her kid (age 1) in February. The place was perfect for our needs, the three rooms were more than enough room for the two families, and a crib was provided for us, and the simple furnishings made having children there easy, there was no fuss about them breaking something. The location is very central, which is good, because we had a hard time figuring out the buses. We were able to walk to many of the big tourist spots. The market in the Campo di Fiori every morning, except Sunday, was great to stock up on fresh produce for the day. Not to mention the fantastic bakery in the Campo as well. We also got a ride to the airport with the owner's father-in-law, for an additional fee, well worth the cost. And, he had two car seats for my kids, which was an unexpected surprise. The only downside to the apartment was at night it could get loud with street noise, well into the early hours of the morning. I seemed to be the only one bothered by this, the one bedroom faces a court yard and was quiet and my children were both able to sleep through the noise from the street. Wireless would have been nice to have at the apartment, but wasn't a necessity for a great vacation. Would recommend this place to anyone and if I'm lucky enough to get back to Rome would look to stay here again.

My family of six just stayed in this apartment for six nights. The place is great!! The bedrooms are very comfortable with a nice eat in kitchen. The location is the best, as one can walk everywhere. There is a supermarket right across the street and Campo de Fiori is just a few blocks away. Mery was so welcoming. She arranged for transportation to and from the airport and she was always available to answer any questions we had. We highly recommend this place!

Me, my husband, daughter, son and daughter in law stayed at this apt. just a few weeks ago (April, 2009). It was absolutely perfect for our trip. It's very large, three bedrooms, one bath, washer, nice kitchen. Location was wonderful. Lots of restaurants, shops, buses, etc. even a grocery right across the street. Emy's father in law even picked us up at the airport and took us to the train station when we left so we didn't have to worry about calling cabs, etc. We would definitely recommend staying here.

For February 2009 we were the first guests at this newly renovated apartment. The location, a few steps from Trastevere across the ancient pedestrian bridge Ponte Sisto and Campo di Fiori in the other direction is fantastic. Located on the first foor up (with lift for luggage etc.), the apartment is modern with good equipment. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and it has a large bathroom (rare in Rome). There is a porter for security. There is an excellent small supermarket open 7 days a week 8:30am - 9pm literally across the street that takes credit cards and can provide almost every need. Highly recommended. Very friendly owner and agent. Agent speaks very good English.
