Casa Miranda has since been renovated and remolded by the interior decorating firm who designed and furnished the new Cloister Hotel. It has all the amenities of a warm modern family compound --even a baby grand piano, award winning pool, 2 private courtyards with Mizner fountains and even 2 dining rooms. The dining room off the kitchen seats 6. And also our newest addition is the dining room that seats 15, all beautifully furnished with antiques and very family friendly.
This spacious and lovely home is perfect for anyone, especially families and is one house from the beach. On the first floor there are 5 bedrooms. One bedroom is a beautiful antique sleigh bed with a 1/2 bath. The wing has 2 bedroom suites - A king, 2 twins in this suite with a privacy door separating the bedrooms and the 2nd suite has a queen bed with 2 bunk beds with another privacy door. The wing shares a full bath. On the second floor, there are 2 large bedrooms, each has its own full bath. Also there is a family room with 2 sets of bunk beds and 2 pull out sofas. We just returned from a magical and relaxing vacation at Casa Miranda! We had 10 adults (5 couples) stay very comfortably in this spacious house. Every couple was able to maintain privacy by all having our own rooms (with some to spare) and easy access to a full bathroom. The downstairs area was large enough for the guys to watch the football games in one room while the girls hung out in a separate room. The kitchen was big enough to have a few people inside cooking at the same time. And, the AMAZING large table was big enough for ALL of us to sit down to nice relaxing dinners together! That one amenity made a huge difference in our experience. The outdoor area was wonderful. The pool was wonderfully large and in a great location. Since it was winter, we heated the pool and it was warm enough for all of us to enjoy the evenings in the pool while outside was 40 degrees!! It says that the beach in a short 5 minute walk, but it is really only a few steps away. The outdoor area provided a great retreat to sit and drink your coffee in the morning or enjoy a swim in the afternoon. Above all, my experience with the homeowner, Pam, was delightful. She was extremely prompt in answering any questions that we had and making sure that we all had a wonderful time in their home. This is my first VRBO home to rent, and I know that my experience with Pam has spoiled me. You really could not ask for a sweeter and more responsive homeowner. Overall - my experience with the house, Sea Island and Pam was 5 star! If (well, maybe when) we make it back to Sea Island again in the future, I will definitely re-book this house.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Casa Miranda was perfect for our girls' get-away. There was more than enough room for us all. The beach was beautiful - we were able to go out for several hours during low tide. Sea Island is such a beautiful, quiet place to visit!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our entire group enjoyed a magical wedding weekend comfortably ensconced at Casa Miranda. The home owners went out of their way to accommodate our group with lots of additional information about Sea Island, St. Simon's Island and Frederica Golf Club. The house itself, is extremely comfortable, well-maintained, and beautifully furnished. The historic home easily accommodated our group of 12 (8 adults and 4 children). The pool was relaxing and situated in a very picturesque setting. We have plans to re-visit Sea Island and will definitely try to stay at Casa Miranda again. Can't wait to return!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

A Wonderful June Week

Not sure where to start on Casa Miranda.........our families (grandparents, two offspring with their families, a couple of visitors........spent a June week in this well-appointed, historic home, enjoying the sizable swimming pool, the grand piano, the well-supplied kitchen, the low-tide beach, leaving it only for sight-seeing, golf, and a seafood meal on St. Simons Island (a very short drive away). Some side benefits included plenty of parking space, an owner who really went out of her way for us, and access to a major super market (we did almost all of our own meals). While we did not take advantage of Sea Island amenities, we were very satisfied with those found on St Simons Island, a short drive away. Although we change homes each year for our beach vacation, we are tempted to return to Casa Miranda and forgo the adventure of a new place. Time will tell.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We stayed a week and had a fabulous time. Our party was four related families with teens on down to a two year old. We all found this home to fit our need just perfectly. The rooms and kitchen were very large with enough matching china for two meals. We also liked the large family sized table which seated our whole family at one seating. What was really great was that the kids could be in the Family Room watching the 48 inch flat screen TV and the adults could be on the other side of the house enjoying a quiet conversation in the living room with a fire in the fire place. The heated pool gave our family hours of enjoyment during our stay. With the cool nights and the warm days, we were in the pool all the time. When this home was remodeled a few years back, they did a great job bring in modern fixtures and beautiful family friendly furnishings. The home has been well maintained and kept year after year and the grounds are large enough to have family football game. Dealing with the owner was a very pleasant experience as well. Pam answered all of our questions and was very helpful in providing information regarding the Resort and where good shopping was in the area. If you have never been to this Resort you need to visit one of the finest 5 star resorts in the country. They have not missed a beat when it comes to quality of service and excellence in fine dining. The Resort SPA is one of the finest SPAS in the world. The Beach Club has something for everyone. If you have young children the kids program takes the little ones for full or half day activities which allows you the chance for a round of golf or an afternoon at the SPA. The many activities offered makes for a very full day. If they offer the Seafood Buffet at Big George's at the Beach Club, don't miss it. Another family favorite was BINGO night @ the Resort. If you are a golfer, golf in the area is also great. The resort courses book up, so do plan ahead for tee times. There are several other nice courses which offer a variety of options to consider. The Beach is very special and a fun place to take the kids to explore. It is the only beach where we have found sand dollars. Also, for planning purposes the beach at this location is only usable during low tide twice a day, but if you want so set yourself up for the day, the Beach at the Beach Club is just fine. Our vacation was so perfect that we are ready to book again next year. Enjoy!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

I cannot tell you houw much we enjoyed our recent stay at Casa Miranda. It is always so difficult to find just the right place to have my annual corporate retreat. But your home was fantastic! Housing 14 people for 3 days is a task in itself. I can't begin to tell you how convenient, comfortable, spacious and elegant Casa Miranda is. Your private beach at low tides(twice a day) was so accessible. We also enjoyed the stunning private pool in the front. Thank you again and we look forward to next years retreat at Casa Miranda.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We had a wonderful experience at Casa Miranda. Our large family ranges in age from babies and toddlers to great grandparents. Casa Miranda (and Sea Island) was a nice vacation spot for our whole crew, offering abundant family space and bedroom space, a great pool and close proximity to the beach and Beach Club. In fact, we are going back this summer and hope to make it an annual trip.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Enjoyed Casa Miranda with seven of my girlfriends. It is large, well-appointed, and had enough room for all of us. The pool was great and it was easy to get around the island. Overall, we were very pleased with the location, the house itself, and the amenities provided. A MAJOR plus was how responsive the owner was with questions, including the day of our arrival when we couldn't readily find it. I've stayed at a lot of VRBO properties over the years and honestly think this was one on the most helpful and responsive owners I've dealt with. Major kudos for that. The only disappointment was that beach access is neither short nor easy. At this location on the island, you can only get to the beach at low tide, which can be rather inconvenient (otherwise, the water comes all the way up to the stairwell down to the beach). You have to basically walk all the way to the Beach Club in order to enjoy the beach at all times. Second, while there is a walkway to the beach approximately 200-300 feet from the house, it's currently boarded up and appears to be a long process of repair/restoration/rebuilding. There are other access points--you just have to walk a bit to find them. If the beach is important to you, just be aware that you have to go through a few other hoops to actually get there. If not, this really is a lovely place, perfect for large groups.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I am so glad you enjoyed Casa Miranda and all it has to offer. It is a wonderful house, perfect for families, reunions and girl getaways. Our private beach is 70 yards away and used it the entire time we were just there with my family( Thanksgiving). The beach ramp was completely renovated ( must have been during your stay-sorry,they did not tell owners when they were renovating it) and Sea Island did a great job. It is better than ever!
