Condominios Playas Gemelas is a gated complex of four medium rise buildings named Framboyan, Jacaranda, Copal and Amapa on the Bay of Bandaras. It has an English speaking staff on duty 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. These buildings are sequentially spaced along a 200 meter ocean front site. Relaxing on the beach, near the pool or walking in the well groomed gardens are favorite pastimes. The 1600 sqft unit is located one level above the ground floor in the northwest corner of the Amapa, has three bedrooms and was completely remodeled in 2004. It features custom stained glass windows depicting images of the jungle and sea.
If you prefer swimming pools to the ocean’s surf, they are located in front of Copal and Framboyan just to the south of Amapa. They include two large pools, a child’s wading pool and a small soaking pool. The rental home on the northwest corner of Amapa is adjacent to the tranquil gardens of a private residence. A deep green grass lawn is all that separates the shore of your patio from the viewing wonders of the Bay of Bandaras, the world's 7th largest bay. Sea life abounds including the majestic humpback whales, dolphins, rays and schools of fish and their pelican pursuers, all visible from the patio. The photograph of the jumping whale in the picture section was taken from the patio of this residence so make sure to bring a camera. On the patio you can dine at sunset or have coffee while enjoying the peaceful morning breeze coming from the Sierra Madres to the east or a cool drink with the afternoon on-shores from the Pacific.
The condominium was completely remodeled in recent years and a 50 meter walk through lush gardens takes you to the pool in front of Copal or the entrance to a sand beach called Playas Gemelas, shown in the pictures. Playas Gemelas means twin beaches and these pure sand beaches are among the most beautiful in Mexico. They are enjoyed by the residents of the complex as well as locals as all beaches in Mexico are available for public use. Umbrellas, towels and beach chairs can be set for you each day upon reservation putting you within steps of the ocean or for you and your children to enjoy building sand castles. A small palapa restaurant at the south end of the beach is available for simple but delicious meals all day.
The region offers day and night life activity for almost every taste. Lively Puerto Vallarta can be reached by a short bus or taxi ride as it is 8.5 km (about 5 miles) along a spectacular ocean drive. Gourmet restaurants as well as small vendors serve delicacies to locals and tourists including the likes of Kaiser Maximilian’s multicourse European inspired feasts or fish tacos and ceviche. If you prefer your own gourmet style, fresh fish, meat, fruits and vegetables are available at modern food stores. Wednesday evening art tours are a favorite pastime and feature national and international works. Saturday morning “farmers market” near the Los Muertos Beach affords bakers and local artisans the opportunity to offer their wares to the public. Other points of interest include the outdoor bazaar on Rio Cuale Island, canopy tours, Sayulita, a surfing village to the north or to Yalapa, a small fishing village nestled in the southernmost cove of the Bay of Bandaras and accessible by a half hour boat ride to the south. Visit the filming site of the Night of the Iguana, two miles south of Playas Gemelas or take a boat trip to the Los Arcos National Park, both near Mismaloya.
This home is priced according to the season. It is ideal for two couples or families with younger children. An experienced babysitter is available at reasonable rates. All rooms have mini-split AC systems although they are not needed for most of the year. Condominios Playas Gemelas is a half-hour taxi ride from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport.
