  Great location just far enough away from the center of town to be quiet & uncrowded beach. Easily walk or bike to town. Well appointed condo. Easy access in and out. Not in a congested area. Some of the hotels & condos can be hard to get in and out of due to traffic and illegally parked cars. If you want a place away from the hustle and noise The Palms is a great selection.

  Never having been to Costa Rica before it was hard to decide where to stay. With friends, we chose Butch's condo at The Palms and the four of us stayed for the month of February. This condo is not only well appointed and very secure, but in our opinion is in one of the best locations in the building itself due to the balcony that is open on two sides, and high enough to provide a stunning view in both directions down the beach. Being fresh air fans, we rarely used the A/C and found that we were also high enough to enjoy the ocean breezes, occasionally assisted by ceiling fans. We slept to the sound of the surf every night, what could be better than that. When we did need the A/C it efficiently and quickly cooled things down. Any concerns we had during our stay were very quickly dealt with by the on-site managers who thankfully also spoke English. As we were two couples, we each spent two weeks in the master bedroom and two weeks in the guest bedroom. We had been concerned that there were two twin beds and not a queen in the second bedroom, but found it not to be much of a problem at all once we got there. There is so much to do around Jaco and we enjoyed our regular walks down the beach and into town. By the time we left we felt like locals. As others have mentioned, the farmers market on Fridays is a must attend and then for $2 a taxi will bring you and all the goods back home. After our daily jaunts it was time to relax in the pool. Most of the time it was quiet and relaxing but things do get busier on the weekends. Taxis are cheap so if you don't rent a car you can still get around relatively inexpensively. We shopped around and found some good deals for tours to a variety of places. Although Tortuga Island and zip lining are high on my list, the hike down into the waterfalls was an experience that I will never forget. We are planning on returning to Costa Rica and hope to stay longer. Don't let the secret out but Butch's place is the best and we definitely made the right choice.   This condo is amazing! Being on the 6th floor gives you the full view of the bay. It is walking distance to shopping, and anything you need. There is a great farmers market on Fridays. We bought so much we had to take a taxi back "home". So glad we are here for 2 weeks!

  Okay, first, my apologies to the Butch for not writing a review as we were his first renters back over Christmas break in 2010. We rarely write reviews, but my wife and I seem to talk about Butch's place often and a couple weeks ago I added writing a review to my list of things to do and here it is 4:25am almost 14 months after staying there and I'm finally writing this. Butch, I truely am sorry for not doing this sooner! You were very kind to us and very easy to get along with, very responsive to questions and provided great ideas for our trip. We loved the place! Very clean, wonderful views and breeze, gated/felt secure, loved that we could view the ocean not just from the condo balcony, but from the living room and master bedroom. Can hear the waves! Enjoyed the pool and the views of the ocean from the pool, as well as, the cliffs that are on each side of Jaco. Loved the lights at night overlooking the city and on the ocean from the boats. Easy walk down the beach or on the sidewalk inland one block and to downtown Jaco. Found some wonderful Tico restaurants and felt safe. (There's an ATM at the grocery store in downtown Jaco you can get US dollars from by the way.) If you don't want to walk it's only a couple of dollars for a taxi ride and there were four of us for that amount. We went horseback riding, 4 wheeling up in the mountains (atv's), zip line, went to surrounding towns, shopped downtown, ate at several restaurants, explored the area, and just plain hung out and relaxed. Met some wonderful people. Even the guy who gave us surfing lessons saw us in town and remembered our names...and knows Butch. The condo has all the cooking items we needed, was clean, no noisy neighbors, the security folks were wonderful and let us practice our Spanish on them. They also told the taxi drivers where we wanted to go. Very easy to get around. Just a 3-4 minute walk down the beach to food/drink and around a 6-8 minute walk to downtown. The beds were comfortable and the living room furniture was comfortable. Has internet, cable tv, beach towels, a safe, and we loved the master bathroom shower! The air conditioning was easy to use with the remote control. Has two elevators. Oh, bonfires on the beach are allowed! Just two disappointing things: we couldn't stay longer and haven't been able to go back...yet. The views from the condo are out of this world...a different sunset every night!!! Well worth the trip! You'll love Butch!

  Best location on Jaco beach. Very elegant condo, with all amenities. Well maintained & full-time security. Loved everything about my trip from food, exploring, fishing, & location. Great experience, will definately be back & stay in Ocean Palms.

  This is a beautiful condo in a wonderful location and has everything you need. The condo is clean and extremely well-kept with a large balcony where you can witness gorgeous sunsets and miles of the beach. It's very safe and wonderful for families or a group of friends. Great staff, as well.

  I recently visited Jaco and stayed in this condo with some friends. From the moment we booked our trip, the owner was extremely helpful and excited for us to be staying there. When we actually arrived to the condo, we were pretty impressed with the security of the property - it felt safe at all times. The condo sits on the north end of Jaco beach, so foot traffic is virtually non-existent. This makes being on the beach extremely peaceful. Although the complex is in the northern part of town, cab rides are cheap and really quick. The condo itself is beautiful. Since it sits on the 6th floor on a corner unit facing the beach, the views are absolutely incredible. Inside, the unit has remote-control operated climate control units. Since we stayed with a few people, everyone could decide how cold or how warm they wanted it. Huge advantage. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utensils, making it easy to cook at home if we wanted to stay in. Overall, we couldn't ask for much more out of the unit itself. We all had such a fun time. After exploring Jaco, I would definitely come back to this unit - not only for the experience of condo location itself, but because working with Butch (the owner) was such a pleasure. Whether you're active or just want to loaf around, I recommend this unit and location to anyone. You will not be disappointed.

  Just returned back from a wonderful vacation in paradise. This condo will not disappoint. Great location on the North end of the beach, well appointed, extremely clean, great staff. The owner was easy to work with and everything was as described. Sunsets are to die for whether you view them from the balcony or while floating in the infinity edged pool. I look forward to returning again in the future.
