HBR 1303 & 1304 "My wife and I have stayed in both of these units over the years. We really enjoy the views of the mountains and waterfalls, as well as a nice overall picture of the lush resort grounds and pool below. There is also a nice lookout across to Hanalei Bay. We spend most of the time on the lanai since it so well positioned to enjoy the outdoors and watch the day go by. End of the day cocktails, wine, cheese or whatever on the lanai makes for a special treat. If you decide to relax and just hang, the pool is one of the best I have seen for a resort like this. We especially like that the pool's filtering is salt water based, so we don't have to deal with all those harsh chemicals most pools use. 1304 is nicer if you like to cook in and enjoy the islands incredible fresh fish (hit the Dolphin retail fish shop in Hanalei). Both units are well furnished, clean and solidly built ( i.e. quiet). We have had great times sharing both units with friends or using one side for ourselves. We will continue to go back." - Aloha, Dan & Mary Kay Schatz Napa, California Much of my life is tied up with the island of Kaua'i, and having come to know it so well over the last several decades, I think there's no better place there than that occupied by Hanalei Bay Resort. In searching for the completely perfect location to film South Pacific -- the iconic motion picture that put "location" to Michener's story -- it's hardly an accident that Josh Logan, its director, chose the very spot upon which Hanalei Bay Resort sits. And Units #1303 and #1304, either separately or together, boast the ex- act same view that Logan had in mind when he staged "Some Enchanted Evening" for the film. Everything about the place works beautifully for me -- its location, the won- derful ambiance that the Hawaiians call "'ohana," and more than anything, the memo- ries and the magic. When I don't feel like strolling those paths down to the beach that lies at the mouth of the Hanalei River, there's the magnificent pool area, fed by water- falls both warm and cool. In a perfect world, there would be no need to dream of this wonderful place, since it would already exist everywhere. But I'm just glad that HBR is available -- and #1303-1304 are positioned perfectly to capture what I have come to love about Kaua'i... Robin Sutherland Principal Pianist San Francisco Symphony
