A mountain house located in a private area of Stowe’s best residential area in Stowe Hollow. Views are spectacular from its 1600 foot elevation in both Winter and Summer with direct views of the Mt. Mansfield range.
Our non-smoking vacation home is fully equipped with modern furniture and appliances and is decorated with many original wood carvings typical of an Alpine Swiss mountain chalet. The house is tucked into a part of the mountain which protects it on three sides. Sitting in the living room or upstairs sitting area provides spectacular views of the Mt. Mansfield ski areas and Trapp Family Lodge across the valley.
The chalet is located a five minute drive from the center of Stowe Village in an exceptionally quiet part of Stowe Township. From the Village Center, the Mt. Mansfield Ski area is another ten minute drive, and the Trapp Family cross country ski center is eight minutes away.
The Stowe Hollow location is ideal for those who wish to avoid the busy scene of the Mountain Road but still have easy access to all of the many fine restaurants and shops in Stowe. Although one can hike or snow shoe into the mountains directly from the house, formal hiking trails to the Stowe Hollow Pinnacle are 3three minutes drive away and the Long Trail at Mt. Mansfield is a 15 minute drive away.
The Winter at Stowe offers the best ski area in the East which hosts the Stowe Winter Carnival, the Stowe Derby cross country ski race, and many other special events.
Summers at our house in Stowe offer a very quiet and peaceful location with easy access to the Stowe Performing arts festival concerts, weekly special concerts at Stowe and the Hyde Park Opera house which is only 25 minutes away.
Summer events also include the Stowe Antique car show and British invasion auto show. The house is in one of the best location in Stowe for viewing Autumn foliage.
