This place is amazing! We had to stay in the area for medical reasons (7 weeks in total) and this place was amazing. It was close to the doctors office and it was just very convenient. The owner and the property manager (Christina), bend backwards to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Also, they've thought of the smallest details on how to ensure that this place has everything, right down to the kitchen cutlery. If you are staying in Santa Barbara, highly recommend staying here over any other place.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

I had been through the ringer trying to book a house for the Memorial day weekend- other rental companies had either never gotten back to us, turned us down due to age (no one under 40), or raised the price by hundreds of dollars due to the holiday weekend. Thank goodness I found this house and Alpha Investment. I called Christina to inquire and she had the contract emailed to me in less than an hour. The rental process, check in, and check out were simple- and the house was PERFECT. Everything you could need was available, they even had condiments in the fridge! You can't beat location, we walked everywhere- even took a pedi cab back from downtown one night (due to heels, not distance) and the guy asked for the rental information because it was such a prime rental! Very artistic- but very comfortable. I have absolutely no complaints. Five stars- we were very happy renters.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

We loved our stay at this Artist's Home - so beautifully and comfortably furnished with every amenity we could have wanted. Best of all was the incredible artwork collected by the late owner, a feminist , art curator and museum founder. It was a thrill and an honor to spend time in her home and experience her artistic sensibilities. Her library was extensive and so enjoyable. The location was perfect for walking into town for shopping and dining, and we took advantage of several spectacular hikes in the surrounding hills as well as exploring the architectural wonders in the neighborhoods. The photos of the house can't begin to show what a completely unique and special place this is. We really hope to stay here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

My husband, young daughter and I stayed here for 2 weeks while visiting family this past summer. This downtown bungalow was perfect. Being New Yorkers we're used to walking everywhere and to be able to be in Santa Barbara but still be able to walk to get a great coffee and the paper in the morning or walk to the amazing playground nearby, or the great little corner grocery store was such a comforting treat for us - not to mention walking home from a great dinner. The house is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and nothing you don't.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My husband and I needed a place to stay for a month while relocating to Santa Barbara and searching for a more permanent home. This place was perfect for us! It was certainly "well-appointed" as in the description. The kitchen has every appliance and kitchen tool that you could ever need...some even better than we own ourselves! The flat-screen tv in the kitchen was nice, too. There are two great living spaces- one large living room complete with a small library of books and games; another smaller living space (also the second bedroom with pull-out couch) with a large flat screen tv and lots of channels to watch! The office was perfect for getting some work done. The upstairs bedroom and bathroom was very nice with plenty of storage and closet space for such a cozy room. We loved having the nice Weber grill (the same exact one that we personally own) to grill out many nights and enjoy our meals on the spacious deck and beautiful teak furniture. The location is great for taking walks and enjoying all that State Street has to offer. Only two cautions: 1) the driveway can be tricky to find from the street and is also extremely hard to navigate in and out of. We ended up parking our cars on the street the entire time and it wasn't a problem. 2) There is no AC, so during the warm summer nights we had during our stay, we were thankful that we had brought a fan with us! Christina Loring (the agent) was extremely helpful and immediately responsive when we had questions. We loved staying here and would recommend it to anyone.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, the home is comfortable, cultured, charming, private, yet close to everything. I especially loved exploring the music library, books and artwork. The attention to detail was superb, everything one might need has been anticipated. I will most definitely stay here again when work brings me to town.Did you find this review helpful? My husband and I use VRBO all the time - sometimes we're pleasantly surprised, sometimes we're underwhelmed. This home was fantastic - from the second you find the tucked in driveway to the landscaping outside, to the warm, welcoming interior - there's a sense that someone put love into every inch of this home. It was comfortable, colorful, a great place to entertain (not too many - maybe just one other couple). The art is beautiful and fascinating (was right up our alley) and definitely deserves a closer look. Practically - it's very well appointed, tvs in all the necessary rooms, great kitchenware, and it's very close to downtown so you can walk to restaurants in minutes. It's a little far from the beach - you'll need to bike or drive. All in all, this is not your typical Santa Barbara beach house - no seashells, no beach kitsch, just a place that feels like the home you've always wanted. We can't wait to go back.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We have stayed here for six weeks, and are perfectly happy with the place. Management s very helpful, and the location is great. It is sufficiently far away from the busy street to make it a quiet place, yet it is very centrally located, within easy walking distance from downtown, and one block away from the express bus to UCSB. The house is clean, well maintained and very well equipped. We appreciated not having to buy all the condiments you need for cooking, and also liked the selection of sharp knives. Did I mention that the house is tastefully decorated in a modern style? It is even nicer than on the pictures! And the outdoor shower is just lovely! We strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a shorter or longer stay in Santa Barbara, and would love to come back!Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
