  Perfect beach cottage for the small family who include their pets on their yearly vacation. For not being oceanfront, the view is almost as though you were... very nice! The private lane leading to the cottage is quaint and basically quiet. Being at the southern part of Nags Head was very nice and relaxing, and a short drive took us to all the shops, piers, and restaurants. We found the house to be fair- to- well equipped and usable, although some kitchen items are in need of replacement. Furniture and decor are basic, but just fine. Fresh and very clean smelling as well. We would definately consider this cottage again and suggest it to friends. Being able to bring ones pets (dogs) is a huge plus for us pet lovers. Only slight complaint that we could have is we believe the cleaning crew could pay closer attention to areas in need of a good dusting and the spare blankets in all the closets could use a washing. (but not a big problem as no place is perfect) The owner was easy to work with, as well, although a follow-up email was not sent by him as of yet. Overall great time!!!

I would like to comment though that our policy is not to send followup emails as we do not like to pester our guests, particularly when they are just returning from vacation, catching up on things, and getting back into the swing of things in their everyday lives. I do however always respond to guest comments and thank you notes sent directly to me that a guest initiates after a stay, but good to know that some guests would like for me to initiate the contact.   We really enjoyed our stay. Quite and peaceful. The house was clean and beautifully located on the beach. Amazing morning sunrises! Located close to the end of South Nags Head, so driving to restaurants and stores is a must.

  First all I have to say the owner is a class act. He was very prompt with responding to my emails, and very easy to work with. As for the property, the pictures do not do it any justice. Has very comfortable and nice living space, with all the ammenities you would need. It was awesome enjoying a coffee in the morning sitting on the deck over looking the ocean. And the beach there is some of the nicest stretches I've seen in OBX. Even for the 4th week it was never to crowded. I always had space to fish anytime of day. It was also nice all you have to do is walk out of the driveway and you are pretty much on the beach. No packing needed to drive to an access, the street has its own private one. I could go on and on about this place but stop reading and submit some dates, you will not be disappointed. All you need is your clothes, and some sheets and you're good to go. Thanks for the amazing two week stay and hope to be back, Scott

  Dear John, We could not have asked for anything more from our vacation at the Loon Ct. Cottage and if it was not up "for sale" we would book it for 2013 and every year after that, definitely. The view of the ocean from your cottage is spectacular and is everything you said it would be: we could see, hear and smell the ocean from the Loon Ct. Having not been to Nagshead in 35 years, I wasn't sure what to expect but the stay at your cottage exceeded my expectations. South Nagshead is now my vacation of choice. The fact that you allowed our pets to come made it hold more happy memories for us, however, your cottage is so clean that one would never guess that a previous dog lover had ever stayed here. Your cottage is by far the nicest and most accomodating vacation home I have ever stayed in and this is one vacation I will cherish for many years to come. Thank you for a most memorable week in South Nagshead and I am already looking at nearby properties for next year unless, of course, the Loon Ct. happens to still be available next year!!! Your cottage offers all the things we look for in a beach property. It is cozy, warm, well-furnished, light and airy (opening the windows you get a wonderful breeze and the sound of waves crashing against the sand). Who could ask for anything more? I would recommend any of your properties for someone looking for a nice, peaceful and relaxing visit to Nagshead. I've not stayed at your Sea Spray Cottages but I did get a peek inside of them and they look as warm and cozy as the Loon Ct. Cottage. We will definitely plan our next beach vacation here in South Nagshead, NC all thanks to happy memories from our 2012 week in your Loon Court Cottage.

  The Loon Court Cottage was everthing we wanted for our Outer Banks vacation. The cottage is well maintained, close to the beach and a short drive to the shopping/restaurant areas. Surf fishing near the cottage was productive and the grill was handy. We will recommend the cottage to friends and plan on renting again.

  What a beautiful vacation home in an even more beautiful location! The setting is PERFECT - literally steps from the beach, but also a perfect ocean view from the kitchen table and living room couches. If you don't want to fight the sun and sand, you can still enjoy the best of the beach from the comfort of this home. But, if you are a beachcomber and sun-soaker, you have a 2 minute walk to your perfect perch on an almost private beach at the south end of Nags Head.

  We found Loon Court Cottage to be perfect for a 4 night getaway. We have 2 boys, aged 9 & 11, and from the dining room table and the front porch, we could see them playing on the beach. (The water was too cold for them to swim, so they were just playing and flying kites, etc.) Great sunrise and waterfront views! The cottage has updated furnishings and was very clean and comfortable. The wifi and cable were fine and the owner was very responsive to any questions or concerns. We visited Jockey Ridge State Park and also the aquarium on Roanoke Island.

  A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Great to be so close to the beach and to have such a great view. The cottage is well furnished with just about everything you could need. My only complaint is that the dishwasher does not work very well and there was no washing liquid or dish towels to finish the job with. But what a great spot!

  Owner response: Thanks for the heads-up on the dishwasher, I will have it looked at by a repairman. Remember towels and soaps are not provided. Many times prior guest will leave the liquid soap and dishwasher detergent and for that matter even laundry detergent from their stay, but that is not something that we provide :)

Weekly rates include cleaning and pet fees.

For stays less than a week add a $75 cleaning fee and $50 per pet fee (2 max).

WEEKLY ONLY Sat.- Sat.: April - October; Will rent by the night (3 night minimum) during this period, if the cottage is not booked a week prior to an available date.

50% of total cost of stay due with signed agreement, balance due 30 days prior to stay.
