Laguna Beach house description
You will find all the luxuries of vacationing without having to
sacrifice the comforts of home in this breath-taking, 3,500 square foot, Laguna Beach house. The living room is decorated with high-end Tommy Bahama furnishings and has a beautiful fireplace. Located off the beach-side of the famed Pacific Coast Highway, this home is conveniently located, however, part of its charm lies in the fact that it is tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Wrap-around balconies on the second and third floors feature stunning 180 degree panoramic views of the ocean and surf. Here you can sit back in the deck chairs with cup of coffee or a cocktail and watch the waves crash and keep an eye out for whales and dolphins that frequently visit the cove. Famous restaurants are within walking distance, however, the fully equipped gourmet kitchen make leaving unnecessary. Instead, you can enjoy breath-taking views of the sunset as it disappears behind the ocean from the dining room table.
No matter how many times you take in this spectacular view, it never gets old! The kitchen features a cooktop, double Thermador ovens, coffee maker, cappucino maker, waffle iron, panini maker and any other gadget you may be in need of. If you would rather cook outside, the balcony features a bbq. There is also a wet bar equipped with an ice maker, wine fridge, and all of the glassware to create mouth-watering cocktails and mixed drinks. During your stay, there is no doubt that you will want to take advantage of both the private beach access just a short distance from the home. During the summer, there is a life guard station, just in case. Be sure to take advantage of the complimentary beach toys and chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear, picnic baskets and umbrellas. Should you decide to stay in,
you can curl up next to the fireplace and watch DirectTV's premium programming with all of the movie channels as well as high speed wireless internet, board games, DVDs and puzzles.
This is a great home for a family or multiple families, since, in addition to the two bedrooms with queen beds, there is also a tranquil spa-like master suite featuring a Cal king bed, sitting area overlooking the ocean, oversized tub with large window that overlooks the ocean, glass shower with dual shower heads and a "rainfall" feature, a walk-in closet and a fireplace. There is a den right outside of the master which has a trundle bed. In addition to the spacious top floors, the bottom floor features a private studio apartment with a kitchenette, dining area,
bathroom, trundle bed, private entry and patio. This house sleeps 10 comfortably, and there are additional air mattresses. Parking at the beach will not be a problem, as there are 5 dedicated parking spaces. Our guests always state that the pictures don't do it justice. We are very confident that after you take your first trip to Secret Cove, you will make it a tradition to come back year after year!

Perfect for Large Family Gatherings
Perfect for Large Family Gatherings
We were looking for a beach vacation spot that would allow us to host our elderly parents, keep our young children (ages 4 and 1), entertained, fed, and napped, and also entertain various groups of aunts, uncles, and cousins. This house worked perfectly in a lot of ways. 1) The views were breathtaking, especially from the master. This place is very well-located for panoramic views, close enough for the full sounds and smells of the ocean to fill the house, and on a very quiet side street with no noise pollution at all. 2) The layout worked wonderfully for us. We had separate bedrooms to put the children for naps and still carry on the party on the main floor at full volume. 3) The kitchen/dining situation easily accommodated our large group. We were able to cook all our meals here--sometimes for as many as 11 people at a sitting--without any trouble. There was a second dining table that we set up, and plenty of place settings for our group. The one major difficulty we had was with kitchen utensils and knives. I wish I had simply gone to Target and spent $50 on some supplements, as these items were past their useful lifespan and should be updated. However, the kitchen was well-supplied with appliances, and we used them all (cappucino maker, toaster, blender, microwave, etc). 4) The furnishings were fabulous. Chairs, sofas, beds, and linens and decorations were all aesthetically pleasing (big step up from typical hotel furnishings) and also very comfortable. In particular, the master bedroom suite was a pleasing oasis. 5) Our host was very helpful. After learning that we'd need a playpen to sleep our 1 year old, he supplied a top notch one and installed a baby gate (essential) before our arrival. This was very appreciated. 6) Beach access was incredible. We used the "private beach" only once, as it was onerous to carry the baby down the long stairs and we had elderly folks with us. But Aliso Beach (1 mile away) was awesome with easy parking. I only have a two small nits to pick: 1) I think the "fifth bedroom," which is really a study outside the master suite should have blackout shades and a ceiling fan installed. We put the baby in this room and had to drape blankets over the windows to cut the light. This made the room very hot and did not work to black out the room. So this room is not fully functional as a bedroom, in my opinion. 2) The aforementioned kitchen utensil and knife shortage. Overall an A+ vacation spot.

We had a fantastic time on our Spring Break @ this lovely Laguna Beach house. The setting is beyond amazing! Beautiful views, we actually saw dolphins and whales from the balcony's! We had everything we needed in terms of kitchen items and linens, etc., and the owner was a pleasure to work with. Lots of parking which is great and the house is private and close to many attractions in Laguna. We had such a great time and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a fantastic time in Laguna Beach. Thanks again Jim!!

An Amazing Vacation Home
An Amazing Vacation Home
It’s with hesitation that I write this review. I simply don’t want this gorgeous property to be ‘found out’! It was by pure luck that I came across this jewel, when planning our family vacation to Southern California. We usually stay in Dana Point or Newport but opted to try something new. From the time I first spoke to the owner of this property, to the arrival and eventual departure back home, we weren’t ever disappointed. Communication with the owner was simple. He is knowledgeable of the area, friendly and very accommodating. The home is nestled into a cul de sac and was the one with most curb appeal, absolutely breathtaking when we were driving in. The 3 car garage eased the parking headache we seemed to always have when we were in Newport. The home is very comfortable with views that certainly won’t disappoint. I don’t remember closing the sliding glass windows at all during our trip – I miss that sound and smell of the ocean! I utilized the large kitchen often and my family dined outside at sunset each night. The decor was comfy and very relaxing. The private beach was EMPTY – we took some great photos which adorn our walls today. We spent 4 glorious days here and would recommend it to anyone (but don’t tell too many people). Thank you for sharing your beautiful piece of heaven with us!

Great vaction spot! Walking distance to the beach
When we first arrived we were overwhelmed by the amazing views that both the second and third stories had. It drove us to head to the beach right away. We walked down to the private access and had the beach almost to ourselves. The pictures we took on the rocky cliffs were so breathtaking we used them as our family's Christmas card. The house was large but felt cozy, like a home away from home and had everything we needed including beach equipment and a stocked kitchen. It was a perfect getaway in every respect and worth every penny!

Amazing Home and Location!
Amazing Home and Location!
We arrived a day ahead of our party and it was a perfect couple's getaway. The master bedroom and bathroom, both of which look out on to the ocean, provided a romantic feel that was surpassed by any other hotel/bed and breakfast that we have stayed in. When the rest of our party (5 additional people) arrived the following day, it also comfortably accommodated everyone. Everyone had their own space, but the large open living, kitchen and dining area made it perfect for everyone to hang out together. The home was amazingly decorated, but still very comfortable. It is close to the beach, shopping and the cute downtown village, but it is still tucked away. Perfect location! We will definitely make it back any chance we get; it has become a "go to" destination for our family and we look forward to the memories ahead! Can't say enough!!

My family met at this beautiful home for the Thanksgiving holiday. This home surpassed our expectations in all ways. The view was beautiful, the home comfortable, and the owners gracious. There were seven of us, and we all were very comfortable in this property. Because of the holiday, the owners made sure we had the bake ware and serving dishes needed to put on a holiday feast. There were fresh flowers in the master bedroom - the view from there was awesome. My girlfriend and I sat with our wine, read our books, and watched the sunset. We all would definietly recommend this home to vacation in. There are three stories only accessed by stairs. The owners do have a baby gate available to corral pets or small children.

My wife and I booked this house with our family for a week during our wedding. We stayed there with our five children, and other family members. The house was perfect for all of us. We had a wonderful time and could not believe it was over. The master suite offered us the beautiful sound of the surf with a cool breeze everynight. We never closed the slider doors to the master suite the entire week. The large kitchen and two ovens were great help for cooking with the many family members at the house during the stay. The location was perfect. Everyone had the best time and the proximity to the beach was perfect.

PERFECT GETAWAY HOME FOR COUPLES AND FRIENDS
PERFECT GETAWAY HOME FOR COUPLES AND FRIENDS
Let me first start off by saying that the pictures of the home on VRBO do not do the home justice when you drive up, it is so impressive and beautiful. The home has 4 bedrooms but the master room has an attached suite area with a very nice trundle bed that can be pulled out to offer 5 total beds. The downstairs bedrooms is a little apartment all to itself with a kitchen and its own patio attached with a bathroom attached as well making it perfect for a couple who might want a little more privacy. But the real jewel is the master suite, located on the third floor with its huge windows and unblocked views of the ocean and the beach it is very amazing, the bathroom in the master suite has a extremely large shower area with a ceiling rainfall shower-head, large closets and a very comfy bed. the other two bedrooms are located on the middle floor and offer two queens beds with a jack and Jill bathroom between them, once again the beds themselves are very comfy and that's important. the middle level is also where you find the living room and kitchen area. the living room has a great view with a huge wrap around balcony that you can open the doors to and listen to the ocean all day as you socialize with your group. also they have directv and offer plenty of channel selection should you be a football fan or something on Sundays. Now on to the beach access. Its a little bit of a hike to get down to the private beach but once you are down there you will realize what all the hype of a private beach is all about. If you have ever visited a orange county beach on a Saturday or Sunday you realize that you will be lucky number one to find parking and you will be very lucky if you can even get a small space on the sand to put your beach towels, not here.... the beach is located inside a cove which blocks access to the public and offers tons of sand and shoreline in which to setup your picnics and have the kids play in the sand and the ocean without being bothered by anyone, There was probably 50 people on the beach when we went on Saturday and that was perfect. Also even though it is a private beach they have a lifeguards on duty as well. We had a great time and will be using the home again in the near future provided it isn't rented out all year after this review.

About the owner: Jim Martindale is the president of Martindale Commercial Real Estate, Inc. in Glendora. His dream has always been to have a home at the beach, and feels this is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life.
Why the Owner Chose Laguna Beach:
Laguna Beach has often been described as one of the most incredible beaches in the world by reviewers from publications such as Cigar Aficionado and Men's Journal. When a home became available in Laguna right off of the famous Pacific Coast Highway, my wife and I jumped at the opportunity to own a home in this dream location.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our home is located literally steps from a beautiful secluded beach. Nothing beats waking up in the morning and watching crashing waves while enjoying a cup of coffee on the balcony. The free local tram services a stop just a few blocks from the home and has multiple drop off points which take you into the heart of Laguna. If you prefer to walk, it is a short stroll to art galleries, boutique shops, and fabulous restaurants. The grocery store is also very nearby so stocking the fridge or sneaking out for a bottle of wine when the mood hits is always convenient. There are also some wonderful public beaches that are accessible via the downtown area.
